Part of Double Media Weekend!
The upcoming S36 ISFL Draft seems to be one of the most hectic in recent memory, and nobody seems to have a consensus on who will be the first-rounder these days. From one mock listing the top TPE player falling to the 3rd round (Link) to others predicting 50 TPE Players getting picked before 200TPE Players (Link), this draft can be labeled as a certified crapshoot. So I decided to take things into my own hands! If I have no idea what other people are doing, then surely the collective mind will guide me in the right direction! (Right?) So, here is what I did:
Thanks to @GlimsTC making all ballots publicly viewable, I decided to take all ballots cast and see how many times a draft prospect was picked by a player, and rank those results. I decided to ignore ballots that included duplicate results, whether on purpose or by accident. With the power of google sheets, I came up with the following:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1...1379870659
This sheet will update live as people submit their ballots, so things may change from when I write this up to when you are reading it. As of when I am writing this, here are the top 14 draft prospects, selected by the people, and a little information about them:
1. Teemo Swift - S - Minnesota Grey Ducks - 74 ballots - @Repgnar
The top TPE player (268) in this year’s draft. In 13 games, Swift has made 50 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, 4 picks, and 8 pass deflections this season.
2. Xavier Valorian - DT - Portland Pythons - 70 ballots - @XaveValor
Top DT prospect in this year’s draft. 44 tackles (including 7 TFL) and 11 sacks make Valorian one of the top prospects for this year’s draft.
3. Kevin McThumper - LB - Bondi Beach Buccaneers - 69 ballots - @Chucky
If I had to predict someone to go #1 overall, I would pick McThumper. A league-high 118 tackles with 6 sacks makes this tackling machine a top prospect in this draft.
4. Graham Harper - CB - Norfolk SeaWolves - 67 ballots - @PurpleReign
The S35 DSFL #1 draft pick. In addition to 69 tackles, 4 picks, and 1 defensive TD; Harper also recorded 493 Kick Return yards, averaging 20.5 yards/return.
5. Austin Morely - WR - Kansas City Coyotes - 62 ballots - @soevil
The first offensive player listed. 978 yards, 8 TD’s, and a deadly combo of speed and hands, Morley will be one of the top WR prospects in this year’s draft.
6. Nathan Meagher - DT - Bondi Beach Buccaneers - 57 ballots - @Nathan
The second DT in this group, Meagher recorded 5 sacks, 34 tackles, and 6 TFL’s. Meagher has the same TPE as Valorian, making them the top 2 DT prospects in this draft.
7. Ja’uan Holland - S - Norfolk SeaWolves - 56 ballots - @Friesen1520
The second safety from this list, Holland snagged 3 interceptions, 10 pass deflections, and 57 tackles. An additional 383 kick return yards, 177 punt return yards, and a punt return TD makes Holland a versatile player.
8. Fred Edison - LB - Kansas City Coyotes - 54 ballots - @Liter
80 tackles, 8 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and 2 fumble recoveries. Not to mention a Saftey! Edison has proven that he can provide a terrifying backfield presence to any LB-needy team!
9. Octavio Perez - WR - Kansas City Coyotes - 54 ballots - @Raven
The second offensive player listed, the second WR listed, and the second Coyote listed as well! Perez racked up 879 yards on the season. Teams will salivate over his 85 speed, 80 agility, and 70 hands.
10. Quendyn Quarterstorm - S - London Royals - 50 ballots - @Twenty6
Quarterstorm amassed 82 tackles and 4 sacks last season with the Royals. His coverage abilities were top-notch last year and Quarterstorm can fly as a special teamer too!
11. J.T. Kubris - OL - Kansas City Coyotes - 44 ballots - @JoshiePoo
The only OL in the top 14, a league-high 68 pancakes will make any QB upright for a long long time.
12. Jean-Ralphio Saperstein - DE - Kansas City Coyotes - 43 ballots - @Fordhammer
A stats machine. Saperstein had a league-high 17 sacks, ensuring that opposing QB’s will not like to face him. 80 strength and 80 speed makes Saperstein a can’t miss prospect!
13. Sconnie McSix - RB - Norfolk SeaWolves - 42 ballots - @g2019
The first RB off the list, 1262 rushing yards on 256 attempts, McSix’s 88 speed and 71 endurance ensure that this Powerback will run all over defenses in the ISFL.
14. Mandrews McHollywood - WR - Kansas City Coyotes - 37 ballots - @Rusfan
The 6th Coyote on this list, and the 3rd Coyote WR! McHollywood possesses elite 90 speed, along with 1015 yards and 6 Touchdowns. This speedster will leave corners in the dust in the ISFL.
