Hello, it is great speaking to you all today! My name is William Fontaine de La Tour Dauterive and we have just finished our first game of the season. To be honest, I was very nervous leading up to the game, it is the first time playing football in a long time. Last time I played I blew out both of my knees as I reclaimed my touchdown scoring record for my high school, the Arlen High School Longhorns. I’ve put in a lot of work to prepare myself to return to the turf but after our first win I feel very confident in not only myself, but my team as well. It is a humbling experience to be the tackle leader in my first game back, and it has given me peace of mind knowing that the hard work I have put in all year has prepared me to compete with the younger generation. It truly was a complete team effort and enjoyed battling for the win alongside my new friends! My knees felt very sore the next day but I am feeling ready for our next opponent. Sometimes you have to fight through the pain, or like my old high school coach, Coach Sauers used to always say whenever someone complained about an injury, “ok Louisa May, go play your ballerina ball and leave your p**** in a bucket.” Yeah, that Coach Sauers really knew how to motivate us to fight through the pain. I can’t wait until our next game, but until then I will be working hard and resting my knees to prepare myself to compete to the best of my god-given abilities! Our physical trainer also recommended I diet in order to improve my overall performance and maintain my obesity and diabetes, but I don’t wanna win that way. Nope, just steaks and Alamo for me.
