In a move that will surprise no one at all who has been following the tenure of Dallas GMs it is now time to vacate my spot as General Manager of the Dallas Birddogs. I had three great seasons with the team that I enjoyed immensely and it is about time to let someone else dip their feet into the honour of GMing this amazing group of people that I have called my home ever since I arrived in this league and am extremely thankful for.
Without too much ado I am announcing that this has been my last season and the beautiful doggo that will replace me next to the amazing Zoot will be @Asked Madden.
He has been a steady great member of the Dallas Warroom since we both arrived in Season 24 as part of the Season 25 ISFL class and I am glad that Zoot and I agreed on this choice because I think he’s a perfect fit for the team. Even though he beats me in every draft imaginable (cross-league) by getting picked ahead of me.
And now for the nitty gritty that each and every one of these types of posts need, the “thank yous” where I am sure to forget someone who will forever be mad at me and hate me for the rest of their lives. Sorry?
First of all I want to thank @ZootTX. You were my choice for my partner in crime and I am super glad you agreed to it, because it was great working with you. You picked up the craft quickly, did quite some heavy lifting and were amazing to work with. I feel like we complemented each other very well and I hope you would agree. It were a fun two seasons and I enjoyed every moment of them.
Second of all I want to thank @yonggariuswho I replaced as GM. You were (and still are to this day) the rock of Dallas. A great, steady and calming influence to the team and the war room and building on your legacy was a great honour for me. Your scouting is and always was amazing and was a great help come draft time. Also your Wide Receiver is OP.
And then my lovely S25 class who came to the Birddogs with me. All of you are amazing and starting to learn how this league works together with y'all made me enjoy this league even more. Love you all who are still sticking around to this day AskedMadden, @zaynzk, @ReverendOReily and even the ones who didn’t stick around but I was able to spend some great time with when I first joined this league.
My fellow GMs of the DSFL, you were great fun to hang around with, we had some interesting discussions in the GM chat, we had some great memes in there and we always were respectful towards each other and the drama was kept at a minimum. Very healthy in a league like this that seems to love it’s drama these days even more. Especially my favourite “enemies” from London @slate and @katarn22. Thank you so much for coming to us with the idea of the anniversary game and for working together to see it through, that was amazing!
The Dallas War Room who made me what I am today in this league when they welcomed me, thank you for letting me into your circle, for helping me with stupid questions, for sticking with us when things weren’t easy and always come down to a common denominator.
Also Kyle. You suck, but I love you. Identity theft is not a joke, Kyle! Millions of families suffer every year!
And to keep the best for last: The second (and mostly better) half of the Dreamteam that got Dallas to it’s first Ultimini win. @Kyamprac. You were one of the main reasons I stuck around in this league. You made me your co-GM and helped me so much in this league and made it fun for the team, me and everyone else around us. You are one of the best things that ever happened to the Birddogs and in this league. You are what is good in this league. Don’t let anyone tell you anything else. Thank you so much for everything. Can’t wait to hopefully have some beers with @Amidships and you this summer.
Thank you, beautiful people, Thank you league, but especially:
Thank you, Dallas.
