NSFLN Requested - 600k bonus - 250k interview bonus - 498 words - Thanks to @RainDelay for helping out
This season, the San Jose SaberCats have been one of the most exciting teams to watch this year in the NSFL. Although they are only 3-5, they have been one of the most explosive teams in the league, and are a must watch every week to see just how many points they’re going to put on the board. In fact, the SaberCats are tied for first in the league for points scored, with 167. They are tied with the NSFC leading Baltimore Hawks, who are sitting at 6-2 right now. A key contributor to this offense is none other than wide receiver Bailey Cook. This season, Cook has truly been a team leader and one of the shining stars of the league’s wide receivers. He is 5th overall in yards, with 659, with an average of 13.7 per catch. This means that whenever he makes a reception, the SaberCats have a good chance of moving the chains. Cook also leads the league in touchdown receptions, with 6. He truly is a dynamic player, and it was an honor to have the chance at an interview with a true X-Factor like Cook.
How would you describe your skill set?
I would say my skill set is quite well rounded. I haven't been focusing all that much on one certain aspect, but rather fine tuning all the parts of my game in order to be the best all around receiver.
How do you feel you are a leader for the team?
On the field is self explanatory, but off the field, I lead in the locker room. Keeping guys engaged in training and team discussions is a big part of what I do.
Out of your career so far, which game would you say has been a career defining moment for you?
Hmmm...I'd say it would have to be a couple games ago when I scored my fifth touchdown of the season, breaking my previous record of only four. Now it's time to shatter that old tally.
What kind of preparation do you do each week before a game?
Gotta get my training in, I have a specific regimen that I follow in order to make sure my body and mind are prepared to give my all on the field each week.
What do the SaberCats need to do to get back on track and winning football games?
We need to really bear down as a team and say, "let's get this done". I know we can win, it's just a matter of bringing it all together. We certainly have the individual talented parts.
When its all said and done, what do you hope to have accomplished in your time in the NSFL?
I hope to be remembered as a vital part of a dynasty in this league, whether it be with the San Jose SaberCats or another franchise. My goal is obviously to be the best receiver in league history, but team success comes first. Let's get those championships!
