Back again with another look at the season 25 draft class. I figure with the ultimus week PT, since I am already looking at them, I may as well do an article on the best draft class I have ever been a part of.
And after two full rounds of searching through the wolfie bot site, I need a break before I start the next couple of rounds. Not that many busts in the first two rounds. A lot of corner backs and people swapping to corner back, only one quarter back taken in the first two. And what, two inactives? That seems like a pretty successful draft, but I know round three has a couple of inactives and the quality takes a hit overall at that point.
Round One Pick One - Swantavius Jones - Berlin Fire Salamanders - Corner Back - 1133 TPE
This pick definitely worked out to be a good pick. He is currently the second leading tackler in Berlin history, tenth for tackles for a loss, fourth in sacks, third in pass disruptions, first in interceptions, tied for first in defensive touchdowns, first in forced fumbles, second in fumbles recovered. Overall, he is clearly one of their defensive leaders from the moment he was called up. Looks like if he stays with Berlin, he will most likely hold some franchise records for quite some time. Great pick for a new franchise. Still on team that drafted them.Round One Pick Two - Dan Foster - Yellowknife Wraiths - Corner Back - 1142 TPE
Another really good pick and of course another corner back. Great user as well, I mainly know because I share a locker room with this guy. Anyways, his career rankings for Yellowknife will look a little different, but remember how long the Wraiths have existed in this league. He is currently 30th in tackles, tied for 62nd in tackles for a loss, 76th in sacks, ninth in pass disruptions, 17th in interceptions, tied for seventh in forced fumbles, twelfth in fumbles recovered, 14th in kick returns, twelfth in kick return yards, eleventh in average for kick returns yards and tied for fourth in kick return touchdowns. Clearly he is much more of a coverage corner than a blitzing style one. Great pick for the franchise. Still on team that drafted them.Round One Pick Three - Tex Wrecks - Philadelphia Liberty - Defensive End - 1063 TPE
Another really good pick to start off the Liberty's draft. He was one of the top rated defensive players in the whole draft. Currently 40th in tackles, fourth in tackles for a loss, eleventh in sacks, tied for first in safeties, fifth in forced fumbles, 14th in fumbles recovered. Solid stats, already being fourth in tackles for a loss and being on the newer side, we can see where he likes to spend his time. Great pick, great graphics maker as well. Still on team that drafted them.Round One Pick Four - Raylan Crowder - San Jose Sabercats - Defensive End - 1170 TPE
Another defensive player off the board, great pickup by the saber cats. Really great TPE earner. 41st in tackles, sixth in tackles for a loss, ninth in sacks, tied for 8th in forced fumbles, tied for fifth in fumbles recovered. Another really good player, great draft choice with his earning abilities, also another good user. Still with the team that drafted him. Round One Pick Five - Albert Ruschmann - Colorado Yeti - Corner Back - 1146 TPE
Yep, another defensive player off the board, originally drafted as a defensive end and swapped to corner. Great pick at the number five overall. 15th in tackles, 23rd in tackles for a loss, tied for 27th in sacks, fourth in pass disruptions, 26th in interceptions, tied for ninth in touchdowns, tied for 38th in forced fumbles, tied for 17th in fumbles recovered, tied for third in blocked punts, tied for 27th with one kick return. Great move by the saber cats to get him, great user as well. Still with the team that drafted him.Round One Pick Six - Felix Archstone - Baltimore Hawks - Offensive Line - 901 TPE
Not a great pick as he now plays for the Austin Copperheads. Also the first offensive player off the board and a noted much lower TPE total than the previous four picks. That being said I am going to look at his stats with the team that drafted him, as this is something of a draft recap. 15th in pancakes and 27th in sacks allowed, which is actually better than it sounds as less is better for sacks allowed. He did play well for the copperheads this season, so not a bad pick in general, but was not good for Baltimore. Not with the team that drafted him.Round One Pick Seven - Guy Fields - Honolulu Hahalua - Line Backer - 1149 TPE
Great pick, great earner and back to defense of course. He is right in line or ahead of the guys drafted ahead of him. Fourth in tackles, fifth in tackles for a loss, third in sacks, sixth in pass disruptions, tied for fifth in interceptions, tied for second in safeties, tied for third in defensive touchdowns, tied for third in forced fumbles, second in fumbles recovered, tied for first in blocked punts. Solid stats all around for the franchise. Good draft pick. Still with the team that drafted him.Round One Pick Eight - Tayshawn Crunk - Arizona Outlaws - Corner Back - 1170 TPE
Another defensive pick. No real surprise, he was drafted as a safety, but swapped to corner as that seems like a position of need across the board. 18th in tackles, tied for 51st in tackles for a loss, tied for 34th in sacks, 14th in pass disruptions, tied for eighth in interceptions, tenth in touchdowns, tied for 22nd in forced fumbles. Solid stats, considering the Outlaws have been around for so long, hard to be top anything for them this soon. Great pick overall for them. Still with the team that drafted him.Round One Pick Nine - James Gath - Chicago Butchers - Corner Back - 388 TPE
Another player drafted as a defensive player, he has since swapped to offensive lineman. Hard to call this a hit, considering how little TPE he has earned so far, for a first round pick it isn't ideal. 15th in pancakes and tied for seventeenth in sacks allowed. He is still on the team that drafted him, so there is that. But his production and earning are bottom of the class for first round picks in this draft. Still with the team that drafted him.Round One Pick Ten - Medicinal Toblerone - New Orleans Second Line - Offensive Lineman - 1174 TPE
He was drafted as the second offensive lineman off the board, but has since switched to defensive end. As far as earning goes, this was a hit. One of the top earners in this draft. 27th in tackles, third in tackles for a loss, tied for ninth in sacks, tied for third in safeties, tied for eighth in forced fumbles, tied for tenth in fumbles recovered. He has good stats, hard to be at the top when a team has been around for a bit. But this was a great draft pick. Still with the team that drafted him.Round One Pick Eleven - Goat Tank - Orange County Otters - Offensive Lineman - 1168 TPE
Third offensive lineman off the board in the first round. The second offensive lineman to position swap as well. As far as user and earning, seems like a really good pick this late in the first round. 39th in tackles, tied for 21st in tackles for a loss, 19th in sacks, tied for eighth in safeties, tied for 23rd in forced fumbles, tied for twelfth in fumbles recovered, 11th in rushing attempts, 11th in rushing yards, seventh in rushing average, 11th in rushing touchdowns as well. Overall, really good pick near the end of round one. Still with the team that drafted him.Round One Pick Twelve - Peter Patterson - Sarasota Sailfish - Corner Back - 1160 TPE
Another defensive back off the board in the first round, it is almost like every team needs multiple of these. Good pick, great earner near the back end of round one. Eighth in tackles, tied for 24th in sacks, third in pass disruptions, fifth in interceptions, tied for third in touchdowns, tied for fourth in forced fumbles, tied for fourth in fumbles recovered, tied for twelfth in punt return attempts with one. Another first round hit. Still with the team he was drafted by. Round One Pick Thirteen - Hank Winchester - New York Silverbacks - Line Backer - 987 TPE
Not a straight up hit of a pick, but also definitely not a miss either. I would call it a reach for end of the first round, especially when you compare this pick the fourteenth pick right after this. Anyways, almost 1K TPE, still effective(as his stats will show). First in tackles, third in tackles for loss, tied for sixth in sacks, fifth in pass disruptions, tied for fifth in interceptions, tied for fifth in touchdowns, second in forced fumbles, tied for second in fumbles recovered, tied for first in blocked punts. So regardless of TPE, he is one of their leaders on defense, so after looking at the stats, it was a hit. Still with the team that drafted him.Round One Pick Fourteen - Rich Triplet - San Jose Sabercats - Corner Back - 1181
Our top earner of the class was also the last first round selection. Also one of the current GMs of the Luchadores and all around great guy. This would be a steal of the first round if he was still on the Sabercats, but alas he is not. 38th in tackles, tied for 51st in tackles for a loss, tied for fifteenth in pass disruptions, tied for 20th in interceptions. Solid stats for the short time he was there, but not great production from the team that drafted him this high. So a big hit on player, big loss on who drafted him.Round Two Pick One - Djibutee McJimmerson - Yellowknife Wraiths - Tight End(swapped to Corner Back before ever playing Tight End) - 1072 TPE
First tight end off the board, but he never actually played tight end for the Wraiths, only corner back. A definite win in my opinion, getting to share a locker room with him, I have nothing but good things to say about him, he is also a DSFL Gm. 22nd in tackles, tied for 69(nice) in sacks, seventh for pass disruptions, tied for sixth in interceptions, tied for seventh in touchdowns, tied for seventeenth in forced fumbles, tied for 36th in fumbles recovered. Good stats for a team that has been around as long as the wraiths. Still with the team that drafted him.Round Two Pick Two - Chuck Roth - Arizona Outlaws - Offensive Line - 1127 TPE
Another offensive player who swapped to defense, he is currently a defensive lineman. Great pick to start the second round for the Outlaws. 40th in tackles, 14th for tackles for a loss, tied for 18th in sacks, tied for seventh in safeties, tied for 22nd in forced fumbles, tied for seventh in fumbles recovered. Solid stats overall, good draft pick for them. He is still with the team that drafted him.Round Two Pick Three - Killian Chambers - Philadelphia Liberty - Wide Receiver - 989 TPE
The first wide receiver off the board and one of the lowest TPE wide outs from this draft. Still a solid performer for the Liberty and a good draft pick overall. Ninth in receptions, ninth in yards, 8th in average yards a catch, ninth in touchdowns, 16th in kick return attempts, 16th in return yards, 17th in average. While he is lower in TPE, he has produced very well for the Liberty, so very hard to call this anything but a good pick. Still with the team that drafted him.
Round Two Pick Four - Tony Yeboah - Baltimore Hawks - Safety - 1068 TPE
Now named Annie May and also on the copperheads. Based on the stats, a solid pick as far as activity and earning goes. Just not on the team that drafted him. 52nd in tackles, tied for 68th in tackles for a loss, 38th in sacks, 47th in pass disruptions, tied for 25th in interceptions, tied for 53rd in forced fumbles, tied for 15th in fumbles recovered. Stats are not terrible, but also limited time in that franchise equals less stats. Not with the team that drafted him.Round Two Pick Five - Adam Mellott - New Orleans Second Line - Offensive Line - 1082 TPE
My boy Adam making the list finally, one of the GMs of the Luchadores and the current top offensive lineman drafted in the season 25 draft. Great pick for any team, and to get him in the second, basically a steal. Seventh in pancakes and tied for 21st in sacks allowed, that is pretty good. Great draft pick, great player as well. Still with the team that drafted him.Round Two Pick Six - Richard Leaking - Orange County Otters - Line Backer (swapped to Corner) - 1085 TPE
Another solid second round pick. Team needed a solid defensive player and they got one here. Good earner as well. 30th in tackles, tied for 50th in tackles for loss, tied for 67th in sacks, tied for 18th in pass disruptions, 20th in interceptions, tied for 13th in touchdowns, tied for 23rd in forced fumbles, tied for 30th in fumbles recovered. Solid stats for a team with a lot of long term players on the defensive side of the ball. Still with the team who drafted him. Round Two Pick Seven - Davriel Lavigne - Honolulu Hahalua - Safety (swapped to Corner) - 1146 TPE
Our top TPE from round two so far, looks to be a really good pick all things considered. Hard to argue with a position swap to the ever popular corner back. Fifth in tackles, tied for 17th in tackles for loss, ninth in sacks, fourth in pass disruptions, fourth in interceptions, tied for third in touchdowns, tied for third in forced fumbles, tied for fifth in fumbles recovered, tied for 8th with one kick return. Great pick, one of the top picks in this round for sure. Still with the team that drafted him.Round Two Pick Eight - Vance Slattery(Doy Fieri) - Arizona Outlaws - Defensive Lineman (swapped to Corner) - 1096 TPE
Another defensive player that swapped the corner back, seems like the most popular position to swap to by far. Anyways, another great user who I got to share a locker room in Tijuana. The only reason this isn't a great pick is because he is no longer on that team. (Using his Philly stats) 15th in tackles, tied for 49th in tackles for loss, tied for 64th in sacks, fifth in pass disruptions, tied for 16th in interceptions, tied for 15th in touchdowns, tied for 16th in fumbles forced, tied for 34th in fumbles recovered, tied for 18th in kick return attempts, 19th in kick return yards, 8th in kick return average yards. Good stats, good player, good pick if he had actually been a part of their team for real.Round Two Pick Nine - Rusty Rucker - Honolulu Hahalua - Line Backer - 1090 TPE
Another really good pick as far activity and earning go, not so great as he isn't on the Hahalua team anymore. 19th in tackles, sixth in tackles for loss, tied for 13th in sacks, 15th in pass disruptions, tied for 16th in forced fumbles. Just for fun on the Yeti he is 24th in tackles, tied for 27th in tackles for a loss, and tied for seventh in sacks. So, he has the ability to contribute, just not if he is on a different team. Solid pick, just didn't work out for the Hahalua. Player is on a different team than drafted by. Round Two Pick Ten - Dukburg Quakstak - New York Silverbacks - Corner Back - 1162 TPE
One of the highest earning round two draft picks, plus I think he is/was the GM for New York, regardless it was a good pick. Fourth in tackles, tied for tenth in tackles for a loss, tied for 15th in sacks, second in pass disruptions, third in interceptions, fifth in touchdowns, tied for sixth in forced fumbles, tied for fourth in fumbles recovered, tied for fourth in kick return attempts with one. Great pick, great earner and has produced quite a few stats. Still with the team that drafted them.Round Two Pick Eleven - Jackie Daytona - Austin Copperheads - Quarter Back - 1112 TPE
Our first quarter back in the draft and I believe the only one left from this draft. Good pick, top end earner, but not the highest. I don't know how you look at a quarter back who is still earning as a bad draft. Second in yards thrown, first in average, second in touchdowns, second in interceptions thrown, first in passer rating, second in passes completed, second in passing attempts, first in passing completion percentage. There have only been two quarter backs so far in this franchise, and while in things that are volume based, he lags way behind, in all of the percent based ones, he is ahead. So, seems like a good choice. This player is with the team that drafted them. Round Two Pick Twelve - Clay Stallworth - Sarasota Sailfish - Offensive Lineman - 338 TPE Gone
This is our first actual super bust of this draft round. The second in the entire draft. Was a position of need and a highly regarded offensive lineman coming into the draft. Not sure what happened. Fifth in pancakes and tied for first with the most sacks allowed. All in all, a certified bust this is. Not in the league anymore.Round Two Pick Thirteen - Dave Batista - Colorado Yeti - Tight End - 664 TPE Retired
This one can qualify as a bust or not. He wasn't a long term player as he retired early, but did earn well during his time on this player. 25th in receptions, 23rd in yards receiving, 22nd in receiving average, tied for 32nd in receiving touchdowns, 46th in pancakes and tied for 49th with one sack allowed. Solid performance when actually playing, just a shortened career. So, not real sure how this actually ranks, a semi bust. Also not in the league anymore/retired.Round Two Pick Fourteen - Xmus Flaxon Jaxon-Waxon - San Jose Sabercats (Yeti) - Safety(swapped to DE) - 1050 TPE
A solid earner and the last pick of the second round. Didn't play that long with the Sabercats, so a bust on their part but not a bust as a player. Tied for 66th in tackles, tied for 38th in tackles for a loss, tied for 29th in sacks, 56th in pass disruptions, tied for 33rd in forced fumbles, tied for 29th in fumbles recovered. Solid player, just didn't last on the team. Not on the team that drafted him.And after two full rounds of searching through the wolfie bot site, I need a break before I start the next couple of rounds. Not that many busts in the first two rounds. A lot of corner backs and people swapping to corner back, only one quarter back taken in the first two. And what, two inactives? That seems like a pretty successful draft, but I know round three has a couple of inactives and the quality takes a hit overall at that point.
