Things to note before you read this: 1/2 of these were written like three days ago, and the other half were written today at 2 AM. All of these are personal opinions, and due to me not having access to scouting interviews, I can not say who a team would like or dislike. Callups might have been available if i digged, but honestly thought it would be more fun to guess callups. Again, all of these are personal opinions, I can give you a solid 70% chance that this doesnt end up more than 5% right.
Mock Draft time! I went ahead, looked at each prospects last login date, used the knowledge that I knew about each prospect, and I looked at team needs for every team. If you do not know who I am, I'm the current Honolulu GM and PPT Head, and have been in the league since Season 19. I also just recreated into this class as Ray the Manta Ray. I usually try using these mock draft pieces and research as a way to get to know the class, which always is useful when scouting starts for the ISFL Draft.
Previous Mock Draft Corrects
S29: 3/24
S28: 0/8
Round 1
Pick 1.1 - Bondi Beach Buccaneers - Ken Oath @Thor
The old General Manager for Bondi Beach makes me think that Thor ends up going first overall in the draft. I have used the same strategy of using connections to mock picks, and it has not worked in past seasons, but I think there is a chance that Ken Oath is either taken with the 1st or 9th overall pick unless he has specifically told Bondi Beach that he would like to go to a new team environment. Bondi Beach only has one wide reciever currently rostered on their team in Squidward Tentacles, and with them being already capped, there is always a chance they get called up in their first season as well, so positional wise the pick would work as well.
Pick 1.2 - Norfolk Seawolves - Kotoni Staggs @.emfaith
Don't need to wait long to get another wide reciever, and the first first-gen. Pretty much has been in the league for a full season, just waiting for the trade deadline to be able to max earn and create. Known from the PBE and has gotten involved in many team's locker rooms so makes sense that they would go high in the draft. Norfolk is a team that is not looking like they are in the best shape, and with Kai Marshall being removed in the recent punishment thread, they are in look for someone to come in and be there right away.
Pick 1.3 - London Royals - Siaosi Multiauaopele @TubaMasterFlex
Someone that I have seen everywhere in rookie chat, and has made a positive impression on me, looking at his account, he has already done pretty much everything possible. With Ultimus Week, Rookie Point Task, making a twitter account, he has gotten involved early and is looking like a top prospect in this upcoming draft. London is really just looking to improve their defense in this draft based on their roster, and adding a Safety will help towards that goal.
Pick 1.4 - Portland Pythons - Beniri T’Chawama @Dextaria
I called in rookie chat that Dextaria would go first round, so it wouldn't be right if they weren't in the first round of the mock draft as well. Portland has a pretty solid roster like we have seen from them in the past few seasons, and I think they won't mind taking a Offensive Linemen in the first round, if the user is very solid and the player has earned which is the case here, with T'Chawama also being second in TPE currently from being a trade deadline create.
Pick 1.5 - Kansas City Coyotes - Omni Man @LimJahey
Kansas City is in a dire need for linebackers to be able to help out on their team with the callups that they will face this season, and Omni Man is a great pick to have here. There is around 4 active linebackers available, and one of them sux lmap, so between HalfEatenOnionBagel and Lim Jahey for recreates, which they are known to take early, I think they will choose to take Jahey here, who has been involved in the leagues graphics for a while as the graphics head.
Pick 1.6 - Dallas Birddogs - Orpheus Czargyros @HalfEatenOnionBagel
Talked about HalfEatenOnionBagel in the pick before this, but he won't need to wait long to be the second linebacker taken. A recreate that is pretty well known, and his last player was already pretty nice as a cornerback, and now he is back to take over the linebacking world. Getting involved early, has made a getting hyped thread which should give him a lot of positive points to be taken here. Theres a chance that Dallas will only have one linebacker after callups, so they will look to get one onto the team right away.
Pick 1.7 - Tijuana Luchadores - Morpheus Czargyros @captjanko
The other half of the Czargyros is Morpheus. He is one of two active defensive line members that are in the draft, and with how important that position is, it makes sense, that Tijuana will not wait too long into the draft to be able to take them. Just like HEOB, they have gotten involved early with this draft class, and that should pay off, with a Tijuana team that could be faced with devastating callups this season.
Pick 1.8 - Minnesota Grey Ducks - Spike Daniels @Michiganonymous
Looking at Minnesota's roster, I don't really see too many holes in there, and this squad may be looking at a pretty good chance for a two peat. Two players that I do think they will lose are Raske and Frank, and with two linebackers already taken, I think they can wait on taking one, and instead look at a safety option. Michiganonymous the first time around wasn't even on my mock with them being inactive, but looks like the time spent away was used well, and they published a very nice article, recapping one of the previous drafts. Their draft stock has certainly plunged forward because of this, and first round could certainly be in the cards.
Round 2
Pick 2.1 - Bondi Beach Buccaneers - Nathan Claflin @Greenbaynathan
They took a Wide Reciever with their earlier pick, and here I think they go over to the defensive side and take a linebacker, which really look in short supply compared to the amount of teams that are looking for one. One of the first gen linebackers, they have shown recent activity, and before there is no other good linebackers left, Bondi Beach manages to land a solid first gen candidate right away.
Pick 2.2 - Norfolk Seawolves - Cedric Wilkins II @woelkers
I'd love to see them have a reunion here with Sailor and Staggs be able to play with each other, but I think there needs on defense are just too large. Here they can take the best cornerback prospect, maybe even the best draft prospect, in the draft in woelkers, and I have learned that he wanted to go to a team that took a first gen before they took him, and with Norfolk taking a true first gen, they won't waste anymore time here and land woelkers to help them out right away.
Pick 2.3 - London Royals - Tessie Garciaparra @"RenoJacksonHS"
Not too many active defensive players I can see on the board, and here they can take Tessie Garciaparra, a cornerback from another recreate. While there is one other first gen cornerback that looks like they have potential, I think if they want a playoffs appearance, they try and look for a solid piece right away and now with their first two picks have cemented their secondary, fairly nicely.
Pick 2.4 - Portland Pythons - Ben Delabaguette @Helcim
This was the other cornerback prospect that I was talking about, and Portland still does not have that many needs to worry about, other than the secondary, where they only have the Laz, so here they could get a solid cornerback duo option, to really finalize their defense up. They will still need to try and get some safeties later on, but with the scarcity of cornerback options, should be a solid option.
Pick 2.5 - Kansas City Coyotes - Wendell Sailor @.simo / @"simo_393" ?
The old kansas City GM, and from what I remember, actually the person that made the current Kansas City logo, he gets his return back to Kansas City to quarterback for them. They lost both their previous quarterbacks in Troy Abed and Jarapollo Jr to callups to their respective teams, so they get the ball rolling and pick the first QB of the draft and get a solid option for themselves.
Pick 2.6 - Dallas Birddogs - Anthony MacGuire @Pythonic
I was not really sure what to do here. Dallas are in need of a cornerback, but as said earlier the options over there are very limited, and does not look like too many second round worth options. Instead they take someone that has been on their team before in Pythonic. A tight end option that is looking very solid. They don't need much on the offensive side, but can wait till the third round to get someone extra for the defense here.
Pick 2.7 - Tijuana Luchadores - Jay Spears @JaytheGreat
A user that has made their return to the league, and they can fill in at safety for Tijuana right away. They currently have no safeties at all, and their cornerbacks have a chance at being called up so will need the help in the secondary. I see a few decent safety options, but I think Spears ends up being the best out of all of them.
Pick 2.8 - Minnesota Grey Ducks - French Fries @Sonaclov
A top offensive linemen prospect in the draft, continuing with Minnesota not really having too many needs, they can take an offensive linemen here that has already been really active in the league, and be able to be in a good shape still. I do think there is a chance they go earlier in the draft, but ultimately 16th overall is where I placed them. If they continue their activity as they have shown in rookie discord and others, they will turn out to be a great prospect.
Round 3
Pick 3.1 - Bondi Beach Buccaneers - Nick Kaepercolin Jr. @Highhaschdi
After taking a wide reciever and linebacker, they are back to the offense, and now can take a runningback in an expierenced recreate of Kaepercolin Jr. Current Berlin GM, they are a very nice earner, and runningback by committee with Tron Carter can end up working very well next season for them if everything goes right. Unless High is looking to go back to London where he GMed, I think this pick makes sense here.
Pick 3.2 - Norfolk Seawolves - Malcolm Savage @MN_Moosey
Moosey! We all love him for his renders and just as a user in general, and now that he has made a quarterback, he will be able to take over for Bex in Norfolk as their QB1. While the Sailor > Staggs combo did not end up working out, I don't think they can be too unhappy to still be able to have Moosey, and for however many seasons they get him for, will be able to start their road back to successful.
Pick 3.3 - London Royals - Lennay Kekua @DeadlyPlayer
Deadly! Long time member of London, being their founding GM, and making his return to London all fits perfectly. They need some help on the defense, and Deadly as one of the few defensive line options will be able to help them out right away. He has recreated a few times in recent history but I don't think London will mind too much, to be able to take him in the third round.
Pick 3.4 - Portland Pythons - Jet King @Maxyman1506
Portland get their safety now, and this user in the most recent one to be active on the site, and while I have not seen them around, this pick will depend a lot on scouting which I do not have access too, so I will assume Portland will do something like this for their pick.
Pick 3.5 - Bondi Beach Buccaneers (via KCC) - Doo Fus @MisObvious
Has had a few players, but to my knowledge is active over in other sim leagues, and is pretty much the last defensive line option to my knowledge available. Bondi Beach can make great use of this extra pick that they own, and now have taken two of each defensive and offensive options in this draft, to try and make sure they do not end up first overall again.
Pick 3.6 - Dallas Birddogs - Jaycee Higgins @"Netlandic"
So many teams just don't need wide recievers this draft, but I think Dallas will take this chance to take some of the wide recievers that got passed on, based on their position, and get someone that has been very active and vocal in rookie chat, and get a solid other wide reciever option that is always helpful to use, especially with their capped quarterback.
Pick 3.7 - Tijuana Luchadores - Carter Knight @Frostbite
I guess Frost to Tijuana? All signs point to IsHe... ReallyInvisible getting called up this season, so they will need an option there, so getting a solid recreate option that is the GM of the Sarasota Sailfish, could certainly help them out. Lots of options at quarterback available though, so will be interesting to see how they go ahead with this.
Pick 3.8 - Minnesota Grey Ducks - Doc Holliday @Jerms
They joined pretty recently, and I have personally gotten to talk with them a lot, just helping them out with rookie PT questions, and its always a good sign when people ask questions, as you know that they are interested. I'm not sure where they will go this draft, but they are making their presense known, and thought it would be nice to include them to a team that could use a tight end option like them.
