The Garfield Despacito line has produced yet another football player set to enter the DSFL scene. Following the retirement of Orange County wide receiver Garfield Despacito Jr., defensive tackle Garfield Despacito III has declared his eligibility for the upcoming DSFL draft.
Despacito III, or "GD3" as he's commonly known, is a very gifted and swift tackler, who excels at pressuring the opponent quarterbacks with swift and deceptive rushes. Scouts see a lot of potential in the latest player of the Despacito bloodline, with many saying he has the highest ceiling of players in the Despacito family. The original Garfield Despacito, an offensive lineman, flamed out in the DSFL without accomplishing much. Garfield Despacito Jr. had a great peak in his career with a couple fantastic receiving seasons and multiple pro bowls, but didn't have much longevity as a top level receiver.
"Garfield [Despacito III] has a lot of potential, probably more than me [laughs]" said Despacito Jr. when interviewed about his thoughts on how far GD3 can make it. "He has a lot of passion for the game and is always working hard to improve. He wants to be one of the best tacklers in the game and is ready to work however hard it takes, I'm confident in that. I'm proud of the work he's put in so far and I'm sure I'll continue to be proud as he keeps that work ethic up."
Despacito III was more reserved when asked his thoughts on what he wants to accomplish in his career: "Obviously every player just wants to be the best they can be. I've been working hard and I'm feeling confident in myself, but I know I still have a lot of work ahead if I'm going to accomplish what I want to."
Despacito III was born in New Mexico, USA and, like his father Garfield Despacito Jr., moved to British Colombia to play football in Vancouver, with the University of British Colombia. It is unknown why the family members choose to go from New Mexico to Vancouver specifically for their college football every career, but who are we to question if it works or not? After a promising few seasons at the college level, Despacito III has attracted a bunch of interest in his services from DSFL teams possibly looking to draft him, and we expect he should go way higher than 79th like his father did in the S21 DSFL Draft.
We will be monitoring the progress of DT Garfield Despacito III with great interest here on Despacito News Network, and hope he can meet the hype he has generated for himself.
