Hi everyone and welcome to our Rookie Interviews. In the following days/weeks we will take a look at every Bondi beach Rookie and ask them a couple questions.
We will start with myself, Lenard Graf, Tight end for Bondi Beach!
Kinda ironic that I'm interviewing myself or rather my User Trempale is interviewing the Player Lenard Graf. Split personality at its best ^^
1 - Congratulations on entering the DSFL. You have worked really hard for this opportunity. How does it feel for it to finally pay off?
I am so relieved. All the work finally paid off. The risky move of moving to the US at a young age to go and play for a college. It all worked out in the end. Which is about the biggest boost for the season that I could ask for. I'm so proud of all my co draftee's, that also made it into the League. S32 Prospects will ball out this season.
2 - How did you feel during the draft? Did you have an expectation of when you would be picked? Would you have changed how you prepared for the draft?
I actually spent the draft with my family via Zoom, since they stayed in germany. I think they woke up the whole street when I got selected. I myself couldn't believe it. I think my first words were: "WTF". Like, i was expecting a second round pick at best. I never in my life assumed that I'd go at the 3rd overall spot. Especially since I am an offensive player. Defense is usually more favored in the early rounds.
The night before the draft was also hell, I couldnt sleep at all. Though I'm pretty sure every Prospect felt like that. It is such a big step in our careers.
3 - What are you most looking forward to this season?
Working together with my teammates and learning everything. I helped found the Tight End University with my fellow Tight Ends. They'll help me grow at my position as well. I'm really looking forward to it. Next target is Offensive ROTY. Which is pretty hard as a Tight End, so I'll have to ball out the whole year. Hopefully we can reach the playoffs, it will be tough for us tho. Because we lost a lot of very good players due to call ups! Hopefully I can get a lot of Pancakes and Tuddies  I've also been voted offensive Captain for this season. So I'll have to be on my best behaviour, grow up really quick and lead our offense to victory.
4 - What are your targets for this season?
My targets are a good teamfinish, improving a lot and If i still have time I'll dream about Offensive Rookie of the year. Even though that will be very tough as TE!
We'll see what we can do, maybe I have to pay my Gm a bit of money to give me more catches ^^
5 - Has there been anyone in the Locker Room that has stood out to you so far?
Yes, my fellow Rookie W.Sconnie. Who is making the switch from OL to Safety. He'll be a huge help on defense. It's not only Sconnie tho. I love talking to every single player in our Locker room. I can't wait to play with them this season!
6 - How do you feel about playing for the Buccaneers?
Who doesn't love playing in Australia?? You can practice in the sand on the beach. I'm gonna be so tanned when I join my ISFL Team. They're all gonna be jealous.
And I mean, come on. The accent?? I love accents, especially australian, ,british and scottish. I could listen to someone speak with those dialects all day and I wouldn't get bored.
The bucs are obviously also a very fun and good team and I can't wait to bring them to another championship.
7 - You are about to earn your $6 Million dollar salary, what's the first thing you are going to buy with your first paycheck?
Well, I spent most of it on Equipment. But I only did that because I earned the same amount with my Media Company. So it all kinda balances itself out. Most important is that I always have enough money to improve week for week. The Equipment won't help me if I'm not in shape.
The rest of the money will all be spent towards improving myself as a player. Maybe I can spend some Money for fun after my career we'll see. Thats far away and for now it's time to grind for the next 10+ Seasons
8 - This is maybe a bit further away but which team would you like to join in the ISFL draft?
I'm honestly fine with every team in the ISFL. I didnt talk to any ISFL teams yet. That will most likely come up when we get closer to the end of the season. Most important for me is the Locker Room and the chance to start once I get called up. I kinda wanna stay down for at least another season with Bondi Beach. To be actually fully prepared for the ISFL. But we'll see how it goes.
Thank you for reading this rookie Interview. There will be more to come
