With the offseason task down, I got some valuable feedback from everyone, and I think that the feedback form for Twitter will be more than likely a seasonal occurence, if not just have a permanent form open. Going through the responses, I have seen some appear a lot of times, so I thought I may very well respond to them.
The first thing I want to touch on is the complaint about having seasonal claim threads. The truth is, the team managers may change from season to season, hence a permanent thread could mean people having to track down their posts to edit the team twitter out and/or add it in their post. A permanent thread would really solve my hands of having to change the link in the scraper all the time, but the effort necessary by the team account managers would exponentially increase. On top of that, as the payout spreadsheet is not public, they are necessary so there is information about whether some weeks have been paid out or not. I have been a bit slacking with updating them recently, but please bare with me as exams have been kicking my ass bad.
Now, regarding as to whether it is valuable to the league or not. Over the course of the week, tweeting daily covers 80% of your weekly training. Should it be upped to cover all of it? I'd say yes, and I will forward this to the Head Office. I am actually thinking of integrating payouts for graphics, whether it is sigs, logos, game previews/reviews, or memes, but again, this is all in discussion with the Head Office. If anything changes regarding to this, you will be notified in due time. That gives me a great dime to touch on the hashtag implementation announcement and change. The thing with this one is that the old scraper was so dysfunctional, I had to pray to every known deity for it to work. So, as soon as I got my hands on the new scraper, I felt like the change had to be made, so we would catch up with payouts, which have been on time, except some few occasions where IRL got in the way. And the rules were updated a few weeks ago to reflect the hashtag implementation. You can check them here.
As for content from the official and team accounts and seeing more of it, I have no control over what they choose to tweet. The only thing I can do is set a floor they have to maintain, which is on average 2-3 tweets a week, in order to remain as their team's account manager. Considering with the 2-3 tweet average, a team manager gets anywhere between 5.2 and 6.8 million, their 2m base salary included. Add their contract to this, which rarely is below 2m, they are just short of a full season's 5 TPE training. To note, tweeting daily for a full season pays 6.4m, increased to 8.4m if you run a team account. But as I stated above, I do want to increase the payouts, to encourage people to take over their team's account, which, frankly, is not that high, to the point that we have an occurence where one person is running the team twitter for two different teams.
Me trying to "hunt down" non-creative and spammy tweets is more in a way to create interaction. But to be honest, it will never happen. As long as the monetary incentive is for one tweet a day, rarely will anyone tweet more than once a day. So interacting with each other is basically at your own volition. Any change I am thinking regarding this leads to the unintended result of people just spamming even more. Should tweeting become just a daily money activity check? I mean, it is that right now. Also, if you want to step up and help with the vetting process of what tweets get paid and what don't, all you have to do is step up and shoot me a message. If I have enough interest about this, I may convince the Head Office to allow me to create a team just for that.
Changing the hashtag for more clarity may be something I will have to forward to the Competitions & Contests Department. Removing it would basically mean rebuild the scraper, with no way of filtering out non-ISFL related tweets, except for having to check accounts one by one, in regards to content with the new scraper we got. And with how tedious it is for a team of TWELVE auditors when it comes to updates, I am not sure if I want to force someone into a similar torture. Do I hate having to doing it all by myself every day or two? Yeah, but at least I can handle mismanaging my time[sic].
To end this, there were two comments asking for me to be fired, and a third one calling me a moron. All I have to respond to that is that my DMs are open if you want to discuss any issues you have with me, in a civilized and adult way. I know I may still respond abrasively from time to time when tensions are running high with having to manage IRL and whatever I am doing in the various sim leagues I am taking part in, but I am really working on it, so please, bear with me, and remind me of it whenever I do it. I do need a reality check from time to time, as everyone.
As always, if you have any questions, you can always DM me either here on the forums, or on Discord (Air Crou#8788). I'd prefer Discord, as I am more likely to see your message, but whatever works for you better. If I missed anything from the feedback you guys submitted, let me know so I can either answer to you in DMs, or create a followup article to this. And expect a feedback form by the end of the playoffs. Until then, my DMs are open. Whether it is questions or issues you got with me that you want to solve. Hiding behind anonymity is easy, but holding grudges hurts you in more ways than you can imagine.
Take care guys and stay safe!
