Announcing the Western US WFC Team for Season 32.
As an aside, please know I am using the TPE numbers given to me on the selection sheet. They may not be the most up to date numbers as players have earned and updated since then.
Offense:
QBs:
Mike Boss Jr. – 1169 TPE (nice)
Joliet Christ Jr. – 971 TPE
With two Juniors in the QB room, we bring in the Sarasota and Honolulu stars. Joliet Christ Jr. is coming off an Ultimus winning season with the Hahalua, lead the league in completions (476) and was second in completion percent (68.4%). Boss Jr. finished with an impressive 28 to 11 TD to INT ratio on the season for Sarasota, who finished second in the tough NSFC at 10-6 and had the most prolific scoring offense in the ISFL (29.2 points/game). Both are more than capable QBs and I am thrilled to see them both on the roster.
RBs:
Zoe Watts – 1366 TPE
Cobra Kai – 1334 TPE
Deadly Memes – 1330 TPE
Jim the Vampire – 986 TPE
Running back selection was incredibly difficult. Watts, Kai, and Memes are all incredible close in TPE and are key players for Austin, Honolulu, Arizona, and Austin again respectively. Zoe Watts was second in the league in ypc (5.0) on over 200 attempts this season, finishing with 8 TDs. Memes finished with 13 TDs on the season, good for third in the league, with Kai not far behind at 12 on the season. Kai and Watts both finished with over 1,100 yards on the season. Kai also posted an impressive season in pass defense, leading all RBs with 51 pancakes and 0 sacks allowed. With so much talent to choose from, we should have a very strong rotation and I expect these exceptional players to be involved both in running and catching the football.
TEs:
Rex Crenshaw – 451 TPE
James Lewandowski (on loan) – 631 TPE
Both tight ends join us from the ASFC. Crenshaw comes from NOLA and Lewandowski, who I was fortunate enough to get to borrow through the loan draft, comes from San Jose. Lewandowski picked up 6 TDs and 659 yards, 31 pancakes, and only one sack allowed on the season. Crenshaw had 261 yards and a TD during their rookie season, also picking up an impressive 30 pancakes while allowing only one sack. These two join us at very different times in their careers. Lewandowski is a S21 create and is wrapping up a legendary career while Crenshaw is coming off an impressive rookie campaign in the big leagues.
WRs:
Darren Pama – 1426 TPE
Luke Quick – 931 TPE
Owen Holloway – 824 TPE
The WR room is made up of Arizona star Pama, the young Baltimore star Luke Quick, and OCO veteran Holloway. The three combined for 22 touchdowns on the regular season (11, 8, and 3 respectively). Quick finished the season with 1,448 yards on 86 receptions for the second best yards/catch average in the league (16.8). Pama also finished the season over a thousand yards and averaged over a first down per reception. Holloway finished the season with 729 yards on an Orange County team that struggled to move the ball through the air.
OL:
I saved the best for last. It is very exciting to have a fully human OL this season and I hope to give adequate recognition to the Fair Rubs Club.
Icebox Riposte – 1068 TPE
Cade Williams – 911 TPE
Calvin Golladay – 460 TPE
Ray the Manta Ray – 342 TPE
Mauler Panda – 170 TPE
The big boys in the trenches join us from Chicago, New Orleans (x2), Honolulu, and Norfolk. Riposte finished the season with 112 pancakes and ZERO sacks allowed. Williams had 114 pancakes and allowed only one sack. Golladay managed 57 pancakes and only one sack allowed on the season. The Manta Ray, in their rookie season, picked up 54 pancakes and allowed 4 sacks. Our beloved panda had 42 pancakes and only 1 sack allowed in the DSFL.
Defense! D-line:
Asher Montain – 1158 TPE
Marlon Brando – 1093 TPE
Troen Egghands – 939 TPE
Colt Mendoza – 903 TPE
Keʻokeʻo Kāne-Maikaʻi – 653 TPE (your name is a nightmare)
The d-line will receive contributions from Honolulu, Berlin, Austin, and New York (x2). Mendoza and Kāne-Maikaʻi were monsters in TFLs as they both picked up 7 on the season. Kāne-Maikaʻi had an additional 8 sacks, a total that was matched by Egghands. Egghands also picked up two fumbles. Montain had 113 tackles playing at LB for Austin, forcing two fumbles and making 2 interceptions. Brando had another six sacks and an additional four TFLs.
LBs:
Big Slammu – 1190 TPE
Tyler Montain – 1122 TPE
Brach Thomaslacher – 1116 TPE
Jack Banks – 880 TPE
The LB squad comes from Honolulu, Austin, Baltimore, and New York. I am fortunate to have the talent both on the d-line and at linebacker to be flexible and run either 3-4 or 4-3 on defense. It truly is a luxury. Slammu finished second in the league in sacks with 19 while also recovering 3 fumbled, recording a safety, a touchdown, an interception, and 114 tackles. Montain had 6 TFLs and sacks as well as 2 interceptions and 8 pass deflections. Thomaslacher picked up 18 sacks, 2 INTs, 10 pass deflections, two safeties, and forced six fumbles in an incredible season. Banks had 111 tackles, three TFLs, forced three fumbles, made 9 sacks and picked off one pass, as well as recording a safety. The league had too many safeties this season…
CBs:
Swantavius Jones – 1331 TPE
Dukburg QuakStak – 1248 TPE
NationalSimulation FootballLeague – 1075 TPE
Juno Hu – 875 TPE
The CBs come from Berlin, New York, Colorado, and NOLA. Jones blocked 17 passeas and picked off 2, forced a fumble, and scored a touchdown on the season. QuakStak forced 3 fumbles, made 4 interceptions, broke up 26 passes, and also had a touchdown on an impressive season. FootballLeague had a forced fumble, 3 sacks, 3 interceptions, and a touchdown on the season. Hu forced a fumble, intercepted 2 passes, and broke up 25 more.
Safeties:
Damian Blackfyre – 921 TPE
Jacob Raske – 776 TPE
Our safeties come from Chicago and Berlin. Blackfyre had a sack, 3 interceptions, and a touchdown on the season. Raske forced 3 fumbles, picked up 2 sacks, 3 interceptions, and 2 TDs.
Honorable mention to K/P Sam Sidekick – 595 TPE. Sidekick made 100% of extra points attempted and was 16/17 on attempts from within 40 on the season. They also managed an impressive long of 58 yards on the season. Sidekick pinned opponents inside their own 20 on 34 occasions last season and had the perfect longest punt distance: 69 yards. Nice.
Congrats to all those who made the Western US roster. If you have any questions, comments, or anything else, feel free to reach out to me here or on Discord. I look forward to this season’s tournament.
