Julian O'Sullivan is a strong talent and will be in the draft pool for season 3. The run-stopping Line Backer out of Georgetown is very tall and big, 6'4" and 265 pounds. He will impress especially with strength, tackling and speed.
O'Sullivan was born in Chevy Chase, Maryland, a short distance outside of Washington D.C., which was a great place to grow up in. An idyllic landscape and lovely houses in a rich neighbourhood painted a lovely image for someone to grow up around. And then you have the big city very close, with all its politics and museums and history. A truly wonderful place to grow up in.
Family life was calm and relaxing, with a stay at home mother taking care of whatever need one might have, and a large number of siblings to play with and stay active with. Life was always a competition, trying to one-up siblings in whatever activity, from ping pong to basketball to football to video games. Everything had to be a competition.
Julian did well in school, with good grades all through life, so that any career would have been open to him. No one in his life imagined he would want to pursue a professional football career, he seemed more destined to be a doctor or lawyer.
But early on in life, Julian had always been into sports. Watching every possible game on the TV, running around in the garden every possible second, no matter the weather. Football had always been the true love, with every Sunday in the fall filled with several hours of TV times reserved for the NFL.
An introverted kid, it wasn't until high school until the true hunt to play sports himself came out. Julian wanted to measure himself with the best. Every kid dreams of being quarterback, but with Julian's height and weight, he was destined to be a defensive player instead.
With brother Kristoffer playing on the same high school and college defense at cornerback, the O'Sullivan brothers were a real threat to any quarterback and running back. One would intercept your ball, the other tackled you.
When Kristoffer was drafted in the NSFL, Julian knew where his destiny was as well. A year younger, he knew he would be right there in the following year, hoping to be drafted as well. And maybe, just maybe, that competitive spirit in him made him hope he would be drafted slightly higher.
On the field, Julian brings a ferocious energy, never giving up on a play to get the maximum amount of tackles and to help his team win. Any tackle will be full force and hopefully knock the ball out of the runner's hands. But don't underestimate his talent in pass coverage either, in the right moment he can drop back and intercept a ball, a skill he learned from his brother, who is known for defending passes.
Off the field, Julian is as determined as anyone, always in the gym, always lifting weights and trying to improve wherever possible. He knows that only 110% effort will be enough and will lead to him being a high draft pick, someone teams want to get.
Where will he watch the draft? At home in Chevy Chase, in front of the TV with his family, maybe even brother Kristoffer, as well as his girlfriend Mary, who is as excited as anyone for this new career choice and the potential for her boo to be a star on the field.
At night when it is quiet and dark out, you can see him sit outside on the porch, looking out into the garden, dreaming of next year, when he will be on the field, helping his team win. And a few years from now? Hopefully a star in the league and still improving every year. That's the goal, never stopping, never getting worse. A long career of strength and fear in the opposing offense.
And one day, when it is all over, hopefully to see his name in the top ten lists of the record book, an illustrious career full of memories and hopefully championships. And then.... hall of fame. Maybe.
