Wilkins speaks out:
I sat down with Wilkins in an interview to get his views on the acquisitions that have been floating around the past few weeks. I believe that there is no rift between him and Liberty at all. He stated that he has one way of learning the game and the team has another. I asked him about the trade talk and he said: “I guess I'm going to go where I feel I can make the most of my talent. Maybe that's Philly, maybe not. I'll give them what they're due, and after that I'll make up my mind.” That concludes what has been a big misunderstanding.
Frost to pay tribute to late family member:
Yet another Lane Frost II headline this week, and this time it has some heavy meaning behind it. Since Frost’s switch to wide receiver he has been wanting to change his number, and when he finally made the announcement it had us all in tears. Frost’s great grandfather, Lane Frost Sr. had died from a heart attack right before the DSFL season kicked off and Frost wanted to pay his dues in any way, shape or form. Frost made the decision to switch his number from #22 to #4, because he wore #4 when playing at Georgia before blowing out his arm. Frost made the decision on Friday and his announcement on Twitter came on Sunday. All condolences go to Frost and his family.
From sitting duck to flying high:
The Minnesota Grey Ducks battled the Kansas City Coyotes in a week 3 matchup. The Grey Ducks were down 23 to 3 going into the third quarter. Late in the 3rd quarter quarterback, Tobias Worthington III scored a 2 yard rushing touchdown to make the score 23 to 10. They went on a run from there. Warren Buffet caught a 19 yard touchdown to make it 23 to 17 with 0:26 left in the third quarter, before the Coyotes hit a 50 yard field goal with 8:24 left in the fourth quarter. With 3:32 left in the game Kawai Bartok caught a 1 yard touchdown to make the score 26 to 24. With 2:28 left in the game the Coyotes elected to punt to an electric offense. The Grey Ducks had the ball with 2:18 left at their own 40 yard-line. After 6 pass attempts they set up Levy Tate for a 42 yard field goal. With 1:19 left, Tate drilled it through the uprights to give them their first lead of the game, 27 to 26. The Ducks got a stop and set up Tate for another field goal attempt to make it a four point game. Tate made the 25 yarder and made it a 30 to 26 game. They got a stop on defense and ended the game with a historic comeback win.
