With a couple of young guns hot on his tail, Harrison Andrews can tell that his career is in its final stages. As he recounts his time in the league, he thinks about those players that he looked up to and learned from the most. In his early days in the DSFL with the London Royals, Andrews spent a lot of time working with and learning from a Colorado Yeti corner named Louisiana Purchase. Purchase wasn’t a Royal alumnus, but he saw something in Andrews early in his career and felt he could help the young man develop into something special. Thanks in part to Purchase, Andrews was an early draft pick of the Sarasota Sailfish. From there, Andrews was taken under the wing of future Hall of Famer Cuco Clemente. Clemente was pivotal in helping shape Andrews into the playmaker he ultimately became. As Clemente’s career ended, Andrews began taking on the role of mentor with the aforementioned young corners on the Sailfish defense.
