0:41 Left in the 4th: Goose gets one last carry on the one yard line and brings it in for the last score of the game!
Final Score: Jaguars 42, Texans 7
Outside of Madden’s mandated field goal block, this game was a complete rout. The Texans only managed 61 yards of offense and 3 first downs across the entire game, while the Jaguars managed 439 yards and 15 first downs. Not every team is as bad as the 2021 Texans, however, so I think other games on the schedule will be more difficult than this.
Notable Statlines
Busch Goose: 23 Rushes, 197 Yards, 2 Touchdowns
Tugg Speedman: 4 Receptions, 71 Yards, 1 Touchdown
Swantavius Jones: 4 Tackles, 1 Sack
Mark Walker: 4 Punt Returns, 77 Yards
Player of the Game: Busch Goose
Seems like a pretty obvious selection to me. The offense ran through Goose today, and my decision to have him as the RB1 for the team seems to have paid dividends. The man could just not be stopped, no matter what defense the Texans ran.
What an explosive first game! Despite being the away team at a divisional opponent, everyone came to play and the results showed that. Next week is a home game against the Titans, one of the better teams in the AFC and a key game for us to win to stay on top of the division. If you’ve read this far in, thank you very much, and have a great rest of your day!
