Task 4
Sim gonna sim you say. Oh boy let me tell you about the greatest team to only win ONE ring. About the Buffalo Bills of the ISFL. But first, let's go back to Season 16. We finished second in the NSFC, with the same record with the Chicago Butchers, meaning we'd have to face Philly in the wildcard game. Well, we were testing in the high 70s. We lost by a point. If I tell you I was pissed, well, that's an understatement. But the topic is different. Nothing changed for the team. We kept pushing. Next season was harder. But we won the division. But again, testing high for the championship game meant nothing. A missed field goal in the fourth gave the Hawks the win and sent us home early once again. Next season however, we made it to the Ultimus. We faced the Otters. At home. On DDSPF 16. Where HFA would increase your win chances by 20%. Well, sim did sim. Bigsby looked like a bum. Two picks and a fumble. All going OCO's way. But that was the first Ultimus loss. Season 19 was a repeat of Season 18. We win the division, we make the Ultimus, we play the Otters at home, we lose. At this point you'd think the team would implode. Well, we kept going at it. New season, same crap. Division title, Ultimus appearance, home loss. This time to the Copperheads. That is three straight Ultimus Losses. But this one was the worst of the three. We were testing in the low 80s for this one, blowing Austin left right and center. We got blown out ourselves. Easton Cole was throwing bombs to his wideouts, while Bigsby couldn't hit a wall right in front of him. And then comes Season 21. The season where we got worse. If memory serves right, some people left because of the straight losses. The task at hand was hard. We had to win three road games to hoist the Ultimus. But we would all think that since we couldn't do it at home, we would do it on the road. We made it there, but NOLA clapped us bad. Francisco was in his bag all game long. Toriki and Gump cut through our defence like it was melted cheese. That thing was ugly. Really ugly. At this point you would think that we would set it all on fire and the team would start rebuilding, to get rid of the sim luck. Newsflash, the "Bills of the ISFL" moniker we were given phased nobody. The gang came back for another shot at it. Season 22 looked like the season. But Colorado didn't agree. I guess testing in the high 70s is bad luck. We lost the conference championship game by a point. At home. It was the point I really started believeing that HFA in DDSPF 16 was in play when we were on the road. When we were at home, it must have been Road Field Advantage. We couldn't seem to get it. It was Seven seasons of failure. You would think we would tear it down. But everyone would just get madder every season we did not win. Until we were vindicated. I remember crying out of joy. We had to grind it out against the Yeti, on a game we were testing negatively, WHILE AT HOME! But we did it. We got one back from the Copperheads, on a game we were testing really high. Before the game, everyone was ready for disappointment. But it was not the case. Finally, after seven seasons of PAIN, the Wraiths were the champions. There was one big absence in the championship season. Danny Grithead had retired the season prior. I guess it wasn't the sim after all, but Gritty. Oh well!
