I was and still am a member of the S22 draft class. It is the most memorable and most important draft class in the history of the ISFL. It was the biggest draft class in league’s history, seeing 280 people drafted into the league. And saw a pile of new memorable users that had large impacts on the league has a whole.
Impacts:
- The S22 draft class led to a double expansion, of the DSFL in S21 and the ISFL in S22. This saw a large change in the league as the introduction of new teams lead to new GM’s and new opportunities. Starting in the DSFL was the introduction of two teams that now have a reputation for toxicity and made the DSFL worse, the Dallas Birddogs and the London Royals. Next season saw the Sarasota Sailfish and the Honolulu Hahalua join the ISFL who have now resulted in several Ultimuses combined.
Users:
- iStegosauraus, Colt Mendoza. Steg was a General Manager in Dallas as well as becoming a part of head office throughout his career. Controversy lead to his departure from Head Office but Steg is still a part of the league.
- Tesla, Magnus Rikiya. Tesla is one of the nicest and genuine people in the league and is a bunch of fresh air compared to most of the users in the league
- Mithrandir, Andrew Witten. Mith has done a lot of work throughout the league as a GM, department head as well as other roles.
- Big Edd, BigEdd. Big Edd is someone that everyone knows about, I’ll let you decide whether or not that is a positive or negative. Once got access to league twitter accounts, can be funny if he is targeting someone you don’t like.
- qWest, Tatsu Nakamura. qWest is now a member of Head Office as well as having other roles during his time in the league.
- Retrospace, Zamir Kehla. Oh boy Zamir. Multi, Pain in the Ass and overall douche. Good riddance to trash.
Busts
- Phat Boi, Pick 5. Phat Boi went inactive early on his career, which was a big disappointment for the Honolulu Hahalua as he was their first ever draft pick in the history of the franchise. A real sad situation.
- Jeffrey Phillips, Pick 10. Phillips was another first rounder who went inactive well before he regressed, and was also involved in a scandalous position swap that resulted in him being removed from fantasy boards as a result. Not going far into his career was surely a disappointment for the Orange County Otters.
Steals
- Tyron Shields, Pick 126. TheCC was the lowest drafted player in the S22 draft to pick up Pro Bowl Honours. A great steal for the Chicago Butchers who were absolutely desperate for talent at the time as a result of the recent failed communist revolution.
- Clark Boyd, Pick 122.. Another steal around this point in the draft saw Clark Boyd get picked up by Sarasota, a traditional Tight End, Boyd was behind James Angler for a lot of his career but Boyd played the traditional role of TE compared to Angler who lined up outside.
- Jacob Small, Pick 110. One of the best kickers of the generation pick in the triple digits. Racked up Pro Bowls, Ultimuses and Awards throughout his career, not bad for the tiny kiwi.
- Zee Rechs, Pick 107. Rechs was one of the 2 continous and dependable targets for Colby Jack, one of the greatest QB’s in this generation and greatest in this draft class. Rechs picked up awards, pro bowls and Ultimus trophies as well throughout his career.
Future Hall of Famers In My Opinion
- Andrew Witten, Cornerback
- Octavio Clemente, Defensive Line/Safety
- Big Edd, Defensive Tackle
- Colby Jack, Quarterback
- William Lim, Wide Receiver
- Bruce Buckley, Offensive Lineman
- Tatsu Nakamura, Running Back
- James Angler, Tight End
- Matthew McDairmid, Kicker
- Jamar Lackson, Running Back
- Jacob Small, Kicker
