This is a quick follow-up to the report I made at the beginning of the season, reviewing the players I made predictions for, and including some new faces who weren’t on the team at the time. That report found here.
We’ll look at the players first, then talk about how the team did as a whole.
We’ll start now as we did then, with the only three players we had on the team pre-draft.
Beeg Beeg Yoshi became the cornerstone of our O Line, holding down the fort alone. One again breaking 50 pancakes, Yosh had a great season with us. It’s hard to judge a lineman by their stats, especially when going solo on the line, but it’s safe to say KCC were lucky to have @"Beegbeegyoshi" doing great work for us, helping both our QB and RBs.
Zane Cold was always going to be the core of our offense this season, and he absolutely did not disappoint. Averaging over 100 yards per game, Zane finished the season with 1414 yards and 8 TDs, meeting all expectations, and then some. A regular in our LR, @Bubba is simply a great person to have around.
I joked about Greg Strongjaw having no contributions last season, but boy did that change this time around. Leading the league in sacks, leading DEs in TFLs, and adding a TD, Safety, and 3 FRs, Greg should be a strong contender for DPOTY. He also has 2 of the 3 highest rated defensive performances, so it’s safe to say Greg made up for an abysmal rookie season.

And that’s all we had in KCC at the beginning of the season. 3 players to build on. If we didn’t do our homework and draft well, KCC were doomed to trying to avoid a winless season, simply trying to scrape together a couple of “sim gonna sim” wins.
Well, let’s take a look at the rookie class, and see how that turned out.
First the bad news. Our 3rd and 4th rounds picks failed to complete the season. Can’t help but take responsibility for that as GMs who are there to help and guide, however, with one being a freak disappearance, and the other having to break from the league for personal reasons, we’re not going to be too down on ourselves. And due to respecting both players and not trying to pile-on, that’s all we’ll say about them.

But now the positives! Let’s start at TE, because why not?
We are so so lucky to say we have two excellent TEs heading into the off-season, both of which are new users, which is always a huge bonus. Our second round pick Virgnia Emmet, and waiver wire pickup JJ Lopez Daniels.
Emmet (@BasserBurger) earned that early pick spot by being a huge member of our LR, joining our WR, and finishing the season as one of the top TEs in the league. JJ (@a_cupof_bread) joined us later in the season, but earned well and is set to be part of an unstoppable TE duo next season.
Next, we’ll jump to my partner in crime, Chim Rickles, who not only had an excellent rookie season at DE, but also helped my dude Strongjaw look good. 10 sacks as a rookie is absolutely insane, so there’s no understating just how important Chim was to our team’s dominance all season on the D-Line.
And even that isn’t the best part about us picking him up. Jango has been absolutely phenomenal in the LR, providing everyone with sigs, making our game ball gfx, and simply being a constant positive presence in our channels.
I’ve already waited too long to mention our top TPE earner among our new users, Element, who has taken to the league like lightning with well over 200 TPE already, allowing his WR Alex Armstrong to be crucial to every good game we had this season. Very possibly the biggest steal of draft day, Element will be a huge threat for us next season.
Moving back to defense, we’ll look at another later pickup of ours, Titus Samson, who came in as a safety who also took to the earning side of things like it was a piece of cake. Slippy has earned as fast as anyone, and will quickly catch up with all those who started before him.
We now move on to our first round pick, and forever-helper of the league, @RussDrivesTheBus - who has done even more than we had hoped in terms of helping us out in both our LR and WR. His CB Russet Buster even managed a KCC record-breaking 3 ints in one game this year, making sure his potato-y spirit lives on after he’s gone.
Before we wrap up we also have to mention a couple of our TDL pickups, who served us with distinction on our OL, helping us finish the season with a win and close playoff game. Swantavius King (@"Maglubiyet" and Patty Pumpernickel (@KelsBells) showed up and helped us a lot, both on the field in the LR. And we wish them both success with whatever teams they end up with in this coming draft. We’d love to have them both if it were possible!
And finally we end with a person who I think the entire team will admit is the heart and soul of our season. Hands Solo, WR. While quiet, Solo has absolutely dominated defenses this season, a true hero on offense. For some reason bots can’t be drafted, so we’re lucky enough to be stuck with him for… well, forever. Long may he reign.

And with the players covered, let’s have a quick look to how the team performed in the league, relative to our expectations. This is what I had to say at the beginning of the season:
“A ton of things will have to go our way this year to even consider playoffs, including some competent GM’ing, but I am personally setting a target of .500 and seeing if we can take it from there next season.”
I’m not so sure about the competent GM’ing, but we more than hit our .500 mark, we did indeed make the playoffs, and only lost to a single play in a stunning 27-32 game against friendly rivals Minnesota. Both myself and @firstfray are so proud of our rookies, as well as Bubba and Yosh, who will always be a huge part of our team and LR, whether they move on or not.
And that’s that. I’ll be back post-draft with our S34 roster report, but until then… Don’t Forget to Love Each Other!
