Every player looks forward to the beginning of the season when they get paid, and Kalam Mekhar is no different. ISFL players have a surprisingly diverse set of hobbies, and Kalam is no different. One of the hobbies that Kalam enjoys is mountain biking. Where Kalam is from in Wisconsin there is no shortage of trails and great places to ride. Unfortunately in Yellowknife it is too cold most of the time for riding but Kalam has been tearing up the trails in the offseason. One thing that every bike rider knows, whether you ride on or off trail, is that bikes are expensive. Kalam has been eying a new bike for quite a while, but as a newer player in the league has been making sure to get all his bills paid and investments set up, so he hasn't had much money to spend on luxuries. However this offseason, Kalam splurged and got himself a new, top of the line, mountain bike. It cost more than his first car, but Kalam has been enjoying the heck out of riding it.

“Light dawns over Marblehead.”  It may be a Northeastern saying, but it applies to the big southern man playing defensive tackle in Philadelphia.  The young, rowdy, quick to anger Haywood is now a 10-year grizzled, introspective 10-year veteran who has changed some of his ways.  Maybe the most significant is money management.  It was no secret that as soon as the game check cleared, young Honky Tonk would be out bouncing around Philly, or whatever road city he was in, and reveling in his favorite food, drink, and women.  Now a days? Haywood has built up a significant bank account, a nest egg, to use once his playing career is over.  Unsubstantiated rumors have it that Haywood is going to turn in the pads and helmet at the conclusion of Season 34, so that money will come in handy sooner rather than later.  Here’s to hoping Haywood can thread the needle between a successful end of career with a healthy and happy retirement.

Between his time on waivers and his inaugural DSFL season, Swantavius King has earned eight million dollars! Some of it will go towards King's all-important training regimen to ensure that he can hang with the elite offensive linemen of the ISFL, but his mind instantly wanders towards an off-field pursuit he has been considering since his time at Auburn University. Ice cream! Over the next year, King will methodically craft a plan to become a Dairy Queen franchisee. He won't know where to actually open the franchise until he is selected in the ISFL draft, but he can still begin communicating with Dairy Queen corporate headquarters to get all of the requisite paperwork completed. Ice cream (specifically, the unfettered consumption of those tasty Swanty Shakes) made King the player he is today, allowing him to withstand bull rushes from even the nosiest of tackles. He envisions himself at the ribbon-cutting ceremony as he speaks into the microphone of some local news outlet. "Nothing goes better together than King and Queen!"

Ignacio Desoto has always had a love for cars and driving. One of the big bonuses of playing in the big leagues involves getting a lot of money. Ignacio was elated to be drafted second overall, and he knew that his high potential and good showing in prospect bowl games would get him a higher draft pick. He would have never suspected to get drafted this high, but he understands that with this high draft pick, he can get more sponsorships and money. His contract just got deposited recently, and he immediately got in contact with his favorite company, Tesla, to try and get a roadster, which is a new car. Ignacio also decided to purchase a new house, since he loves real estate and knows it's smart to invest now. Ignacio doesn't play to live in the house just yet, as it's a summer house for now. He knows once he gets drafted to the ISFL his city will change again, so he decided to just buy a mansion in LA, because that's where everything happens.

Mo' money mo' problems they always say....but not for MEEEEEEEE. Pizzaman is going on a shopping spree and you're coming with. First stop is the GNC store becuase he needs to cut some weight for his new position. We will be buying a sweat suit, some creatine powder, lipozene, and maybe some b12 just for kicks. Next we head to the groccery store where we get some spinach, carrots, and a nice big jug of red juice, you know with beets and celery. After that its time to upgrade the backyard- we'll be getting a new tackling sled, some of those big blobs you see football players knock down and a new rope ladder to practice some footwork. That's all training wise, I guess with the leftover millions I'll probably give to my children's college fund, my wife to upgrade her she shed, and a little bit of allowance to the kiddos so they can buy icecream on the weekend or something.

TTollem Mada got paid by the Bondi Beach Buccanears recently and his contract was $6M which is a ton of money. He would most likely start by investing most of it so he can hopefully expand his wealth later, but then with the rest of it he would use it for a lot of basic nesessities and help out family members and friends financially. He would build himself a house and set it up the way he wants, also build a new top of the line PC as well as getting a PS5 and a Xbox Series X and all the games he wants. He would also try and help out his community by giving donations to charities or projects around the area to help them get started and running. Mada is not really that interested in using his money on a bunch of things like cars and a super expensive house and all of that, so helping others is most likely what he would do.

Eeeeeeee Phenssta is excited to be receiving his first paycheck as a professional athlete. There is a long list of things he wants to buy and people he wants to repay for their kindsness and generosity in launching his career, but he also knows that athletes tend to blow all their money and be broke  pretty quickly. So, he decides to invest first in himself. He spends his entire rookie paycheck and then some of his own money on the best equipment and training money can buy, hoping he'll be ready to have a strong showing against the pros and get himself ready for the ISFL entry draft. After all, this is only step one in a long career. But he also believes in the importance of celebrating small victories and spending time with loved ones, so he took everyone out to brunch at his favorite chicken and waffles place. After all, they say breakfast is the most important meal of the day and brunch combines breakfast with some other foods, so it's gotta be worth it...right?
