The Bondi Beach Buccaneers traveled to Portland to face the Pythons last night in a week 3 matchup. However, it was clear early on that the Pythons were the only team that showed up to play.
As the game progressed, the Buccaneers continued to allow points on defense while their offense stagnated. It was an all around pitiful performance that left much of the team frustrated. Players and fans bore witness to these frustrations firsthand when Bucs' rookie cornerback Anthony Stark activated the Iron Man suit and blasted off the field, leaving a gaping hole in the snake pit. Eyewitnesses in a nearby dive bar reported seeing Stark in his suit ordering martinis.
It was later reported that Stark was seen flying into a junkyard outside of town, where he used his repulsors to destroy beater cars and other various items in the junkyard. Unbeknown to Stark, however, the establishment was also in charge of repossessions, meaning that some of the cars he destroyed or damaged were not junked and will need to be replaced. Stark issued the following apology to the media:
"I, Anthony Stark, apologize for any damages caused by my reckless actions. I should not have allowed my emotions to get the better of me after the game today. I will be paying out of pocket for all repairs and replacements necessary. I would also like to apologize to the city of Portland for being the victims of my selfishness.
I was very angry at myself regarding my performance on the field today. I'm not used to being bad at, well, anything. And I'm definitely not used to losing. I will get better at controlling my negative feelings for the future. Thank you."
It is unknown whether or not Stark will face disciplinary action from the DSFL. Bondi Beach GM Gus Bus has indicated that team management will be handling punishment for Stark's actions internally.
