We head into the Norfolk Seawolves locker room after the victory vs the Kansas City Coyotes to a team that is celebrating a big win:
Jack McPherson: "This is what we needed boys! We needed to make a damn statement, and that is absolutely what we did! 41-17 and we basically ended this game in the first half!"
Despite not being the defensive captain, Jack has become a leader in the locker room and has been a big reason for the energy on the field.
Clarissa Van Campen: "we shut them down didn't we Jack?"
Jack: "Yeah me and all of the 3 tackles I had"
Campen: "Hey don't think like that, the offense was chugging along so well that we did not even get that much time on defense. They were afraid to run your way McFEARson, keep that energy in mind"
Jack: "Yeah you are right! Don't focus on the negatives, let's just celebrate! Hey Graham, your first pick went to the house, how are you feeling buddy?"
Graham Harper: "Man I am absolutely jacked up, dos you hear how quiet that crowd got after I got that pick?"
Jack: "Yeah man, some started leaving during halftime! Anyways Beck is coming in, so let's relax a bit"
The Norfolk Seawolves GM Beck: "just an amazing game all around from everyone! Defense played perfectly, beyond the fact that you give up a 90 yard touchdown. Sorry, I know it was practically a garbage time touchdown, but I feel like I do have to bring it up. Harper with first pick that went for 6 and Van Campen got a pick as well. But I do feel like I should bring up our quarterback, Pete Zuh. 4 touchdowns, no picks, and 14/21 passing. That is good for a passing rating of 137.9.
Pete: "I don't know, the magic was just there the whole game, I could not miss."
Beck: "damn right, your play was an absolutely huge reason we ended up winning this game. We could not have asked for a better performance tonight from you, you were nearly flawless. You also ran for a nice 29 yards, which leads me to our running backs. Together the two of them had 171 yards and even though they did not get any touchdowns, thier running set up the pass perfectly. With a young mobile quarterback, we know that running to set up the pass has to be our offense mindset this season as Pete grows and develops. I will also give some props to our receiving core, with Thomas Robinson having 100 yards receiving."
Robinson: "kind of disappointed that I did not get a touchdown, but I will absolutely take the yards."
Beck: "Yeah keep that energy with you, and take it one game at a time. Now we have to keep on moving on, and get ready for the next game. We will be heading back to Norfolk because the Royals are coming to town who have lost to Bondi, then we have a date at home with the Grey Ducks. I believe this team can win, so let's show that we can win."
I know that this is a bit of a different way to write them my usual style, but I am bored AF at big O's waiting on my stepmom's SUV to get an oil change and I just wanted to write something to pass the time. Thank you all for reading and I hope to see you all on the field!
