In the nfl they are very different because the pro bowl is fan voted, but that’s not the case here so why have two seperate lists that do the same thing. Just doesn’t really make sense to me. Positional Awards give a definitive you are the best at your position. For example in the future if we did it like this Moyes and Brando were both unanimous first team all pros, so they must have been equal. However, they were obviously not. Awards allow to give us a definitive “you are the best at your position this season congratulations”, while the people may not agree on it sometimes, it does show who the best was that season, and, outside of a few positions all pro does not do that.(06-25-2022, 11:54 AM)Frostbite Wrote:(06-25-2022, 11:49 AM)MMFLEX Wrote:Yes, it’s a great proposal and I actually like most aspects other than removing legit 80% of awards and a good measurement for HoF and replacing it with all pro… Like I like seeing AllPro every offseason but it should not be a full replacement for awards(06-25-2022, 11:42 AM)Frostbite Wrote: L for removing positional awardsYuh... Pretty sure people only saw awards system reform and didn't read the details.
Positional awards being covered by all-pro has frost said, but that also means that All-Pro are going to become more than just a fun-side project and intergrated fully into awards. May not agree with the replacement, but the effect on HoF should be minimal, kept to the period where people are gonna have a mixture of both and deciding that value.
From what I remember, in the original version of this proposal, there was a part of the All-Pro proposal that said the All-Pro list would now include an extra notation for the best at each position. So while two DEs would make the first team All-Pro, one would be marked as Best DE. Don't know where that got removed during the process (or if it didn't and I missed it bc I didn't read it carefully).
