Hello all! After a couple weeks, I think it is high time to give a couple words on the commissioner transition as well as bring you an update as to where we are at with the league, including current hiring posts and a special announcement at the end that I think everyone will like. But first, a brief table of contents:
1 - Commissioner Changes and Thoughts
2 - New HO member - Hiring Interns!
3 - Job Opportunities
4 - Salary Cap Change
5 - Charity Drive Update
6 - Major QoL upgrade!!
1 - Commissioner Changes and Thoughts
First of all, I want to thank @Swanty for his work for the league over not only the past 8 months of his commissionership, but also for the time that he put in as a member of head office prior to and since that time. As of this publishing, he sits at 498 total days of service in Head Office, which is barely short of a year and a half. He has helped facilitate a very healthy league, and as mentioned by Mooty99 in the commish change thread, the work done in the background by Swanty and Head Office under him is evidenced by the nearly total lack of drama under his tenure, as well as the many published and upcoming quality of life changes. I can only hope that myself and the rest of HO can build onto that legacy of relative calm that he has left to us - and that is exactly what we intend to do.
I also want to thank @DarknessRising for his service in HO as well. He is not going anywhere, but he has also given up 498 days in a Head Office position and has contributed immensely to the league not only as a HO member but heavily in the sim team as well. Thank you Darkness!
2 - New HO member - Hiring Interns!
With that being said, as Swanty also said in the commish change post, he will be stepping down from HO at the end of this season. This leaves an opening in Head Office, and I am happy to announce that @XaveValor will be stepping up from an intern role into a full-time Head Office position! As a result, we are now hiring two ISFL HO interns. You can find out more about the job openings here! Applications will close Saturday, July 30 at 11:59PM Eastern.
3 - Job Opportunities
Next, we are also hiring for a few other jobs across the league right now! Go check out these opportunities and see if there’s anything you may be interested in! Each and every job and job holder in the league are important and are very much appreciated, and the sim team jobs especially are integral to how our league functions. We’d love for anyone who has any interest to at least reach out and explore the possibilities!
ISFL Streamer + Backup Streamer - Pay varies
ISFL Stream Graphics Guru - $7m/season
4 - Salary Cap Change
For the first time in over two irl years, and over 15 seasons, the salary cap will be changing, and it will be dropping for the first time since at least S17. Starting in S37, the salary cap will be $80,000,000 instead of $85,000,000. We will give you the reasoning given to the GMs as well:
“Below, please find a chart showing several numbers. Column 1 is total payroll for all players 100+ and 250+, Column 2 is Column 1 divided by 14 to give us the cost of a perfectly average team, and Column 3 is Column 2 plus five T3 bots (22.5 Mil). Human OL are not taken into consideration for this, so a lot of these numbers may actually be lower after reducing the number of bots you may need. These numbers were obtained by extending everyone on a current contract to next season, accounting for regression, and assuming that every player over 250 TPE will be called up, which obviously will not be the case. It also removes all currently retired salaries and those that will regress into automatic retirement. Amid did all the work on the math for this, so credit to him for coming up with these numbers. Obviously they will not be 100% accurate, but there is not a ton of room for error, and the variables will likely favor the teams as retirements and callups will in most cases create more space.
As you can see, the cap is arguably too high for this season when compared to the the average cost of a team, and is expected to be roughly the same next season. Therefore, HO voted to lower cap as it was clear to us that there was too much available cap.”
5 - Charity Drive Update
As some of you have been asking about, we are aware that it is about that time for a charity drive to take place, and that has been something that we are in discussions with in HO as well as with other sim leagues! Right now we’re coordinating on a time that works well for all leagues. The current timeline for kickoff appears to be late S37, but we will get more information out as we have it!
6 - Major QoL upgrade!!
And lastly, a huge announcement. Before we get into it, I’d like to thank @Talls and the entire development team for the massive amounts of work behind this, as well as each and every banker and HO member who was able to test this and find any errors with the system. Your work is greatly appreciated and does not go unnoticed! With that being said, beginning this offseason, the ISFL will be migrating from a forum post banking system to an automatic banking system! Much like the SHL, you will now be able to click a button, and it will automatically subtract $1,000,000 from your account and add 5 TPE to your pockets! This will also work with equipment purchases, as the system will allow you to purchase maximum equipment right away, as well as purchase a lower tier and then upgrade to a newer tier, both automatically at just the click of a button! Below, please find a couple of teaser pictures to help get you excited:

While we do not yet have an exact date for this upgrade to be released, stay tuned! We’ll get a fuller run-down, more details, and the final upgrade before you know it!
That’s it for this time! Some exciting job opportunities, some awesome upgrades, and some awesome people! If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to myself or any other member of HO and we’d be happy to do our best to answer them!
