So, some of you will probably remember that I used to compile a scouting combine for most draft classes (some didnt get done for various RL reasons), but that stopped suddenly a while back. The reason for this is that I've been working on a new version in the background. One that doesn't just give values based on the attributes and call it a day.
The new system will include some variance based on a random number generation, which should now mean that there is a little more "noise" at the top end -- and will also enable newer players to actually have a shot at beating some historic records. In addition, I've been trialling some additional events to be used for a DSFL Workout Day -- much like the one off event that happened for the season 10 DSFL draft class -- which I may or may not incorporate into the ISFL Scouting Combine.
The main issue with the combine is the length of time it takes for the write-ups, however. So... going forward, I would like to put together a team of users (ideally this will rotate) to actually do the write up in a shared google doc, so I can focus on the number generation part.
The new method is not yet finished, but I'm hoping to have it ready for the next draft. If you're interested in doing part of the write-up (for which you will obviously receive media pay), please let me know. In addition, there will be wiki creation work tied into this, and if you didn't already know, wiki work pays out at media scale plus bonus. If you wanna get in on this, please join the development & wiki discord (here) and (academydropout#1037)
Preference may be given to those with lower bank balances and/or no league jobs to start with -- gotta share the opportunities -- though this should not deter you from applying. There doesn't tend to be a lot of interest in these sorts of things, I've noticed.
While I finalise the new system, I will be outsourcing the writeups for the backfill of the missing combines (using the old system), so there will be plenty of opportunity to make cash from this.
If you message me here, there's a good chance I won't notice for days. So uh... follow the instructions, yeah?
Peace
