*Brandon Mason Post Season Presser - Ready to be Graded*
After being picked up mid season, Brandon Mason finished with 35 pancakes and 6 sacks allowed. Now that the Coyotes have been eliminated from the playoffs, he is looking forward to the offseason.
Ask away!
XaveValor:
1. What team would you prefer to be drafted by in the upcoming draft?
Obviously, you always want to go where you have the best shot at a title, but there are other things that come into play, such as culture, locker rooms, coaching, etc, that can persuade a decision. I’ve had some great conversations with scouts from different teams, and I just look forward to see where I land, how I can make an impact, and continue to get better.
2. Do you plan to be called up right away or spend more time in the DSFL?
I see myself spending more time in the DSFL, in order to continuing developing to the ISFL level. I’m still fairly early in my career, considering I was picked up halfway through the season, so I don’t take it as something personal if I was asked to stay down.
3. How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if it was given an industrial crane and a chainsaw?
I’m sure it’s comparable to the amount of sea shells sally sells by the sea shore. The shells she sells are sea shells, for sure. So as long as the sea shells that sally is selling by the seashore, are sea shells, then I’m sure it’s a comparable figure.
Twenty6:
1. Generally touted as a thankless position, what is your drive to being an O-lineman?
One word…PANCAKES! Just being able to flatten someone while leading blocking, what a feeling. You just have to have the mindset that while not a glamorous position, games are won or lost in the trenches. Generally QBs and RBs are very good to their lineman, so while not a spotlight position, it’s an invaluable one.
2. So far, what has been your favorite experience in the league?
Just how welcoming and helpful everyone has been. This is my first time being in the league and learning the ropes, everyone has been great at helping me understand everything.
3. Be honest: after you go grocery shopping, what do you do with the shopping cart?
I usually find the worst parked car in the lot, you know some one who parked in 2 spaces or parked on the yellow stripped lines or something like that, then zip tie the car to their driver door handle. Teach them a lesson.
ZootTX:
1. What are your favorite pancake toppings?
Sadness, tears of my enemies, fear. If you mean actual pancakes, classic butter and syrup.
2. Why should teams draft you in the upcoming ISFL draft?
I’m an active and hard working OL, which is hard to find in the league. While I do have stuff to learn, I’m willing to learn, develop and fatten my enemies along the way.
Dreamsloth:
1. Yes, Brandon, I'm wondering if you're excited about getting drafted by a real football team instead of playing for those stinky Coyotes?
They took a chance on me, which I am thankful for and I have enjoyed my time here in KCC. I am excited for the next level and seeing where I end up.
AnUnoriginalGuy:
1. What are the top 3 places you’d be happy to be drafted to?
1) Next season's Ultimus champions
2) Next season's Ultimus runner up
3) Season after next's Ultimus champions
2. What’s something memorable that happened in the locker room for yall?
@soevil admitting he can always find something to complain about.
In your opinion, what’s the greatest karaoke song of all time?
Barbie World, 100%, no arguement
soevil:
1. I know that the Coyotes gave up a decent pick to acquire you from the Pythons, do you think that you gave them a good return on investment? Would you have rather stayed in Portland to be on a playoff team?
While it hurts seeing the Pythons playing in the Ultimini (props to them), I was honored KCC traded for me so quickly. As an active player, who is still developing, I definitely had a good ROI for KCC, as good OL players are hard to come by, and it will only get better.
2. I haven’t seen very much draft hype for you despite being the second highest rated OL in the DSFL behind teammate Dusty Wilson. How does this make you feel? Do you think teams are sleeping on your ability?
Oh 100%, teams are definitely sleeping. I know I'm new and still getting better, but that fuels me. Someone will see the potential. Those who sleep on me will be the ones who end up being scared to line up across from me.
