One of our annual traditions in Chicago is highlighting the careers of our retiring Butchers. We’ve got a couple of lifelong Butchers that are departing this season, so let’s go ahead and take a look at their achievements.
The only retiree that the Butchers have this season is wide receiver Mike Hunt @TheSparkyDee. Drafted in the S27 class alongside RB Madison Hayes and CB He Hate Me Pick Six, he’s been a staple in the Butchers passing attack since his rookie season in S28, only ever playing for the Butchers. During his rookie year, he hauled in 57 catches for 808 yards and only one touchdown. He didn’t take over the top spot on the wide receiver depth chart until S31, but he definitely made the most of his time with Chicago. Hunt had a tough road ahead of him if he wanted to be recognized as a CHI great at the wide receiver position, getting started just after the #1 and #2 all time CHI receivers in Sean O’Leary and Luca Scabbia called it quits. Let’s take a look at his stats to see how he compared to those two.
#29 League Career Receptions - 706
#40 League Career TDs - 58
#1 CHI Career Receptions - 706
#2 CHI Career Yards - 9586 (639 yards behind #1)
#3 CHI Career TDs - 58 (3 behind #2, 4 behind #1)
#8, #9, #10 CHI Season Receptions
#10 CHI Season Yards
T5x2 CHI Season TDs
T6 CHI Game Receptions
#1, #10 CHI Game Yards
T1x2 CHI Game TDs
