Hello all, it’s me again! Taking advantage of 2.5x media Bringing you the S37 ISFL Draft (Over)Reaction! I have done this a couple of times, but with a smaller class like this (and a decent amount of new creates and re-creates), this should make for an interesting Draft Reaction article. I don’t think I’m really too harsh with the grading in my mind, so I do apologize if it seems rather much. Trying to emphasize the OVER in overreaction. With that being said, let’s get started.
1. - Amidships - Charlie Thorsen - LB
This pick was pretty much a no-brainer at this spot. The 2nd highest earner of the class, Berlin was looking to solidify their front 7 as well as pick a user who can help mold a LR. As his former DSFL GM, I can attest, my man gets hype during gameday. I think this is an A+ pick and should bode well for Berlin for the future.
Grade: A+
____________________________________________________________________________
2. - High Stick King - Matthew Mara - WR
HSK is well known throughout all the sim leagues as a graphics god. So while a “new” create, this is a very solid pick for New York who’s currently in a re-build mode right now. Obviously needing a lot of different positions, he’ll fit nicely since Speedman announced his retirement last week.
Grade: A+
____________________________________________________________________________
3. - Arctic - Grayson Yates - QB
Arctic is one of the new creates of the draft and while Swanky’s player is getting old, it’ll be good to see them develop and be the next great Yeti QB. My interactions with them are limited, but I have heard nothing but good things. I think this was a solid pick for the Yeti. And hopefully they’ll stick around.
Grade: A+
____________________________________________________________________________
4. - Kyamprac - Dolores Bickerman - QB
The 2nd least surprising pick in this draft. Austin is also in a weird re-build mode but at the same time being decent enough to go 7-9. Kya going here is a match made in heaven and honestly, would have been shocked if she wasn’t selected here. Although she’s officially a QB, she changed it for us in Tijuana as we needed a QB, and she won a championship while doing so. Amazing props to her and I think this was a great pick for the Copperheads.
Grade: A+
____________________________________________________________________________
5. - DarknessRising - Preston Beatz - QB
Would you look at that, 3 QB’s back-to-back-to-back! I would honestly say this was the 3rd least surprising pick of the draft. Darkness looked to join his brother in Baltimore after both of them not teaming up with their 1st players. They’ll finally be able to shed off Gimmy’s non-earning QB and would no doubt be thrown into the mix within the first couple of seasons. Obviously you know what you’re getting from DR, so another great pick here.
Grade: A+
____________________________________________________________________________
6. - Moldycheez4 - Jason Oexius - CB
MC is technically a recruit of mine from the Green Bay Packers reddit. He’s been a near max earner since coming in and it’s been great to see him kill it on activity and engagement through the other servers and also media. Plus being a Green Bay Packers fan is just dope in my eyes so he’ll get a biased grade from me. NOLA was in desperate need to select this prospect, so it was a 2 birds with 1 stone situation. So great pick here!
Grade: A+
____________________________________________________________________________
7. - TheHammer43 - Bay Webb - DE
I think we hit the point where there may be some reaches due to TPE differences. Obviously TPE isn’t everything, but it does tell if you will be a solid and consistent earner. With that being said, I think the Silverbacks made a good pick here. Again I think New York will take anything at this point, but as an LR presence, this is a slam dunk pick. I know Honolulu loved having him in the LR whenever he interacted there, so he should be a great pick.
Grade: A
____________________________________________________________________________
8. - Gadget - Inspector Gadget - S
I don’t know much about this pick. I do know they’ve been fairly active throughout the season and have earned quite well TPE wise. With Colorado needing another S, this pick was a no brainer for them as well. This should again bode well for the Yeti as they look to build up the roster from the ground up.
Grade: A+
____________________________________________________________________________
9. - dustywilson22 - Dusty Wilson - OL
For the Wraiths coming off a back to back playoff appearance, there doesn’t seem like too many holes for the team, so what better pick would it be than to select the top OL on the board? With the cap going down this season, this seems to make even more sense and have to applaud them for this selection here.
Grade: A+
____________________________________________________________________________
10. - RDBSouthpaw - Jordan Hartline - LB
Another team that’s also needing plenty of holes filled, Berlin is looking to shore up the defense. Hartline was a solid pick here ensuring to try and build a new and solid culture. And with Southpaw and Amid being friends, it’ll be easier to expect a partnership than a rivalry.
Grade: A
____________________________________________________________________________
11. - OrbitingDeath - Nova Montagne - QB
Wow, what an absolute bust of a pick. I can’t believe they’re gonna dump Zayren like that, since he’ll use his commissioner power’s to keep him from regressing! /s
But in all seriousness, this was another pick that was unsurprising, and yes it helps to know that is who we were picking with our first 1st round pick. OD is a really awesome dude, and with the money he has, sheeeeeesh. Excellent pick here for the Hahalua.
Grade: A+
____________________________________________________________________________
12. - qWest - Rocky Moreaux - WR
This also was a no brainer pick here. With the Yeti only having 1 WR over 1000+ TPE (pending regression), it was time to look for a max earner at this position. And qWest fell right into their lap. This was a great pick for the Yeti and it’ll be nice to see the rookie QB-WR duo come from the same draft.
Grade: A+
____________________________________________________________________________
13. - Dip - Dip Dhillon - WR
The Sailfish are in this weird spot where they don’t really have any needs. So why not go with the best available player here? A close to max earning player, Dip is in no rush to develop his game. While WR isn’t a need for them, StadiumGambler’s player isn’t get any younger, and it’ll be nice to have a good #2 right next to Nick Kaepercolin Jr.. All in all a really good pick for the Sailfish.
Grade: A
____________________________________________________________________________
14. - TacocaT - Michael Touchback - RB
This is an interesting pick to me as I didn’t think that New York was hurting for a RB. Maybe they were concerned with McTurtle getting gassed toward the end of the games? Or possibly that he’s position swapping to something else? Regardless, I’ll have to take this pick at face value, and to me there were still other options where they could have had a higher grade.
Grade: B+
____________________________________________________________________________
15. - R0tzbua - Known Acquaintance - K/P
For Berlin, this pick makes sense the more I think about it. One, Amidships, Southpaw and R0tz are all friends, so getting them together should be nice for the Fire Salamanders. They were also in need of a K/P as the one they currently have is pretty much out of commission. So honestly a solid pick here after some thought, but was puzzled at first when it was shown on stream.
Grade: A-
____________________________________________________________________________
16. - xQCFamous - Monty Ward - LB
Man, I think the Hahalua might be regretting that trade. With Berlin swooping up R0tz from under them, this pick makes sense on paper as the Hahalua have no LB’s after S38. So obviously some moves will have to happen, but in the meantime xQCFamous can continue building on his player while also creating some dope graphics for the league. Seems like a good pick here.
Grade: A
____________________________________________________________________________
17. - chxhawk - Stryker Brown - DE
This pick couldn’t have worked better for the Butchers. Obviously with a glaring need at the D-Line, Chicago needed to hit on this pick here, and they definitely did. With Mongo surviving on basically a fishing line, this will help Chicago continue to build on the front 7 while also making sure they stay competitive in the coming seasons. Well done Chicago.
Grade: A+
____________________________________________________________________________
18. - Bmason0520 - Brandon Mason - OL
Call it what you will, but any OL pick is worth a selection in my eyes if they’re moderately earning. Especially with the fact that the cap went down, this pick looks even better considering they are also in a rebuild mode. Hopefully they can continue earning and will look to be a solid contributor for Austin.
Grade: A
____________________________________________________________________________
19. - gucci - Brock Landers Jr. - QB
Chicago using the pick for a QB makes sense on paper. While considering that gucci isn’t really that loved in the league (especially after putting out that one cringe article; yikes), this pick is interesting to say the least. Obviously my pick here would be Nunc, but that is probably due to the fact that he wasn’t planning on staying with one team and instead wanted to be a journeyman (as evidenced by the article he posted just hours ago). So as far as a TPE based pick, this is very solid. But everything else, not a big fan.
Grade: B
____________________________________________________________________________
20. - MrMom - Adam Rage - CB
NOLA really doubled down on the CB’s and I’m all for it. With the Tijuana-New Orleans pipeline still going strong, it’s not hard to imagine why this pick is a steal in my opinion. One of the latest creates to start, obviously the TPE gap is noticeable. But if they had created at the TDL, this would have been a different story. Hopefully they continue to earn so I can see the complete rebuild for NOLA. They are one of the youngest teams in the league, and it would be great to see them thrive back to the glory days.
Grade: A
____________________________________________________________________________
21. - negs - Tingis Pingis - CB
Smh my head negs, you couldn’t trade down farther to select yourself?
No but in all seriousness this is to be expected for a GM pick. Not much more to say other than that negs is big stinky.
Grade: S for Stinky
____________________________________________________________________________
22. - Hontier - Gribbuh Fister - LB
Like you had to be so greedy negs, that you had to be the 21st pick smhhhhh.
This pick is interesting in the sense that LB is not really a need as they have 3 LB’s that are S32 or younger. Could wait to see them develop or even have them position switch. In any case, this is a solid pick.
Grade: A-
____________________________________________________________________________
23. - RyanM1414 - Ryan Murray - S
Not much to be said about this selection here. YKW doesn’t really have any other positions of need that can be filled with this selection. The closest one would be DE, but not sure if Murray is position swapping for them or not. So in all reality we shall see.
Grade: B+
____________________________________________________________________________
24. - LutherVox - Luther Vox - WR
This is a solid selection as San Jose could use a slot WR for the team. Right now they don’t have a 3rd WR and that can bode well for Luther to develop their player to become a solid piece in the future. Solid pick in my opinion.
Grade: A-
____________________________________________________________________________
25. :crunk: - Crunk - Danny Nedelko - RB
Crunk is a good dude, and this is obviously a GM pick. So not much to say, but I’m sure they’ll be a max earner and such. Whenever he steps down as GM, he should be regarded as one of the best.
Grade: A+
____________________________________________________________________________
26. - FleshBagSoup - Yummy HotDogPie - OL
Another great pick here with it being an OL. Stumpy ain’t getting any younger, and so better to look to at least have something to plug in for the team so they can continue earning and such. Plus Soup is the goat.
Grade: A
____________________________________________________________________________
27. - WhatAmUs - Blibby Shpoopy - RB
Listen, WAU is the goat for several reasons. But his deep manly radio voice is the biggest. He used to be the button clicker several seasons back, and he was awesome doing it. Glad to see he re-created and I’m looking forward to seeing him around the league. If anything, it’s probably a good LR pick in of itself.
Grade: A
____________________________________________________________________________
28. - deckerd - Deckerd DeShaw - S
Second Line making sure they go all out for the “Second”ary, (yeah that was bad) but in any case if they can get DeShaw to earn, this will be a solid pick for them. Right now though, it’s a decent pick for them.
Grade: B+
____________________________________________________________________________
29. - WALDO - Thwomp - DE
A solid pick here. I’d say Berlin is a great place for reclamation projects for the team, but if anybody can do it. It’s DeWalt and Rapid. Hopefully they can get Thwomp to earn decently through the next few seasons.
Grade: B
____________________________________________________________________________
30. - nunccoepi - Adrian St. Christmas - QB
This is a tough one to justify. I know they can use them as trade bait and such, but this is a tough one to justify since they’ll have taken 2 QB’s in the same draft class (although they have done it before). This is also risky because of the “demands” nunc was asking for within his contract. I love nunc, but man, I can’t believe he fell so far. Hopefully the Hahalua can work it out for their sake.
Grade: B
____________________________________________________________________________
31. - gotothegym18 - JarDarius Jones - WR
Kind of surprised this passed for the Yeti since they didn’t have 57 TPE actually claimed. But whatever. Essentially an IA pick and hopefully are able to come back to the league at some point.
Grade: C
____________________________________________________________________________
32. - LSUFAN101 - Cade York Jr. Jr. - KP
A known PBE user, LSU hasn’t earned too much as of late and from what I can tell won’t be very consistent with their earning. Austin does need a K/P, so hopefully he can come back around and continue to earn.
Grade: B
____________________________________________________________________________
33. - Jabs - Wae Traynes - CB
An even more known PBE user, Jabs is in the same boat as LSU as far as being fairly IA. Obviously the Hawks can essentially take whatever as they lean toward an older team, but it would be great for Jabs to come back and earn more at a steady basis.
Grade: B-
____________________________________________________________________________
34. - Ren_Solo - D'Sqarius Green V - DE
My IRL friend, it’s a shame that he won’t be coming back to the league. Obviously he had a decent chance at going higher, but he hated getting Discord messages, so should have seen the red flags. Oh well, at worst it’s a 177 TPE player that they have that they can use if need be.
Grade: C+
____________________________________________________________________________
35. - ThePope - Paddy MacGuinness - KP
This pick is essentially a wash as it’s basically slim pickings at this point. Hopefully they come back, but in all reality, probably won’t.
Grade: C+
____________________________________________________________________________
36. - Aford9910 - Aaron Ford - RB
From what I’ve gathered, this could be a potential steal. Ford is fairly active in the Norfolk LR, so if he’s moderately earning, this is a great pick. But only time will tell if that’s what really happens.
Grade: B-
____________________________________________________________________________
37. - Vishy - Vader Page - CB
An IA at this point. Hopefully they can come back.
Grade: C+
____________________________________________________________________________
38. - CeeKay - Cornelius King III - WR
CK drafting CeeKay? You can’t make this up. One of the few active’s left on the board, I’m sure this can be a steal if they assist them with earning and such. We shall see how it all pans out.
Grade: B
____________________________________________________________________________
39. - McLovin - Mickey Lauvin - WR
A goat name but not goat activity. Technically IA at this point, hopefully they come back around so they can help the Outlaws.

40. - LarryFisherman - Larry Fisherman - DE
Another IA pick. Hopefully they come back, but won’t hold the breath for it.

And so ends the S37 Draft (Over)Reaction. Obviously with all of these, you have to remember that it’s a marathon, not a sprint. So most of the prospects could fall and rise when the time comes and if so, it should be interesting to see the retrospect media piece for this, if there is ever one (at least from me, cause writing media is a bit much sometimes). Hopefully the recruiting classes will get bigger in the future, but looking at S38, that may not be the case until we get another r/nfl post. But until then, it shall be interesting to see how these prospects compare to the recent classes, and go from there. I think that one team that wasn’t really highlighted was Arizona, mostly because they didn’t have a 1st this season. But they picked up 3 huge FA’s, so look for them to shoot up the standings in the upcoming season. Thanks for taking the time to read the article!
1. - Amidships - Charlie Thorsen - LB

29. - WALDO - Thwomp - DE
A solid pick here. I’d say Berlin is a great place for reclamation projects for the team, but if anybody can do it. It’s DeWalt and Rapid. Hopefully they can get Thwomp to earn decently through the next few seasons.

31. - gotothegym18 - JarDarius Jones - WR
Kind of surprised this passed for the Yeti since they didn’t have 57 TPE actually claimed. But whatever. Essentially an IA pick and hopefully are able to come back to the league at some point.

35. - ThePope - Paddy MacGuinness - KP
This pick is essentially a wash as it’s basically slim pickings at this point. Hopefully they come back, but in all reality, probably won’t.
Grade: C+

36. - Aford9910 - Aaron Ford - RB
From what I’ve gathered, this could be a potential steal. Ford is fairly active in the Norfolk LR, so if he’s moderately earning, this is a great pick. But only time will tell if that’s what really happens.

37. - Vishy - Vader Page - CB
An IA at this point. Hopefully they can come back.
Grade: C+

38. - CeeKay - Cornelius King III - WR
CK drafting CeeKay? You can’t make this up. One of the few active’s left on the board, I’m sure this can be a steal if they assist them with earning and such. We shall see how it all pans out.

39. - McLovin - Mickey Lauvin - WR
A goat name but not goat activity. Technically IA at this point, hopefully they come back around so they can help the Outlaws.

40. - LarryFisherman - Larry Fisherman - DE
Another IA pick. Hopefully they come back, but won’t hold the breath for it.

41. - Draco Thompson - Duke Smith - WR
Man, if the Sailfish have better luck than me to get Duke to earn, more power to them. Would be a great addition to the team.

42. - lamp_wizard - Cardorino Tarotino - TE
Another IA pick.

43. - Bacarri_Rambo - Bacarri Rambo - CB
IA pick here too.

44. - HasumiKi - Orion Jasper - WR
So this an interesting prospect since this is not Hasumi’s first rodeo. Will they be able to ever consistently earn? We shall see. It would be great if New York is able to get them to earn at all.
