[div align=\\\"center\\\"]NSFL TONIGHT BREAKING NEWS[/div]
In the late hours of September 4th, at California gentleman's club Naughty Palace , police were called to the scene to break up a large scale brawl between the club's patrons. Among the ones arrested were SabreCats running back Denzel Diaz, SabreCats offensive linemen Vincent Sharpei, season 3 draft prospect Calkewlated Chambers III, and a handful of undisclosed Wraiths players.
According to a police report of the scene, released this morning, the fight was apparently started by SabreCats running back Denzel Diaz, who, according to eye-witness reports, struck an undisclosed Wraiths players after trading some obscenities. What followed after the punch was a retaliation from the Wraiths players in the club, with Vincent Sharpei jumping in soon after. Another witness describes the Wraiths players talking to season 3 prospect Chambers III, talking about "loyalty" and "the Wraiths way" , which upset a nearby Denzel Diaz.
An exotic dancer at the club by the name of Misty Diamond says that "The short one hit that guy so hard he knocked him out, but then his friends jumped in and all hell broke loose, so I got out of there!" Another club-goer by the name of Max Milton says that a "large man" knocked him over in an attempt to jump into a fight, which in his words, "was not cool". Multiple witnesses confirm the police report stating that Diaz initiated the first contact, which then led to the brawl, but they also state that the Wraiths players were loud and demanding to the dancers and waitresses present.
Diaz and Sharpei were held on bond, and then released after bail was paid by fellow teammate and SabreCats defensive linemen Dan Miller. The Wraiths players were arrested, but soon released after the police officials concluded they acted in self defense. Multiple glasses and a table were among the collateral damage made to the club, which will, according to police reports will be pinned on Diaz and Sharpei to pay. It is yet to be seen if the Wraiths players will press charges on the SabreCats involved.
Diaz, Sharpei, and the Wraiths involved declined to comment on the situation, however San Jose SabreCats General Manager anf Head Coach CK had a rather surprising response to the incident:
"I'm sure the Wraiths had it coming, always runnings their mouths & talking shit like we're their personal punching bag. I've had a serious talk with my guys in the wake of this incident & we're gonna settle this once & for all on the gridiron."
Fellow SabreCats teammate and wide receiver Darren Smallwood echoed a similar response at SabreCats practice the following day.
"The wraiths way was never one of loyalty and while I do think it wrong for Diaz to have drawn first blood, the Wraiths should never have been goading in the first place. They don't know defense on the field, I doubt they know defense in a fight either."
Diaz and Sharpei were held out of practice today due to their night spent in jail, and to heal up from some minor injuries, but are set to return tomorrow. Chambers III declined to comment as well, but was seen early this morning checking into a local athletic training facility, surely preparing for the upcoming NSFL draft and season.
Tensions are certainty at an all-time high between the two NSFL teams, and while there are still legal problems pending, especially on Diaz, the regular season matchup between these squads should be one to watch for sure. Just make sure you aren't clubbing with these guys.
