As offensive captain, I wanted to recognize the outstanding work my team does week in and week out to get us ready to compete for a championship. I’m going to be giving a “game ball” after each game to an offensive player who went above and beyond.
In week 1 against the London royals, it’s honestly very hard to pick between four shining stars on the team.
Creg Jerrith was exceptional under center, completing 72% of his passes and hitting an insane QB rating of 114.2. For a guy with a negative wonderlic score, that’s damned impressive. If he weren’t @negs, he’d be in serious contention for the game ball today.
Sherwin Blue picked up 137 yards and 1 touchdown on the ground and in the air this week. What. A. Game. If @Kotasa can keep averaging 5.6 ypc along with this kind of receiving production, he’ll be MVP this year.
Johnny Blaze continues to be the epitome of a true WR1 and we’re incredibly fortunate to have him. He pulled the top corner all game long and still scored a touchdown, opening up the entire offense for the team. His constant professionalism and work ethic are why he got my vote for captain, and I’m honored to play along @JBLAZE_THE_BOSS as a teammate.
But there can only be one game ball! And this weeks game ball goes deservingly to WR Monty Cooper. When @YoungBuck was asked to step up he did it in a major way, coming through for 107 yards on 4 catches, with an insane 61 yard catch. I know I speak for everyone in the Coyotes when I say we’re excited to watch him evolve into a superstar.
