Prompt Wrote:The Index. Boy oh boy do we love the league Index! Throughout last week, the masses chanted the name of the Index for all to hear! Many players and fans alike united to sing in unison the praises of the Index, and thus, the Index has arrived to take over this week's PT. For this PT, talk about something you find interesting in or about the Index! Are there any neat award races going on that are tight? Team records that are close to being broken or on pace to be? Something you like about the Index in general or wish the Index could do better? Talk about it all here!
I mostly use the index to look at how Austin is doing this year or to research data for writing media articles. For the first portion, it's pretty good - key stats are there, it's fairly easy to see a team's record and from there get to the team page and then roster, and I like having the points for/against on the main page. The biggest things I want to see that it doesn't have is more season aggregations of information that is present in the game breakdowns - a player's penalties and yardage, team turnover differential, a team's time of possession, etc. Other than that, I think it's really quite good for usage day to day during a season.
When it comes to looking back over longer time horizons, though, I find a huge hole in it not having full records from before the sim switchover. I assume this isn't something that we can do anything about and are instead at the mercy of the sim developers, but it's conceptually really annoying to look at various "all time leaders" who are only actually since S25 or whatever. And to be fair, the league/sim were wildly differently balanced at various points in the past so in some ways it's not terrible that the old records aren't there for players to be sad about not being able to reach, but I think it's a huge gap vs. eg the index-equivalent for PBE where it has ever year's stats.
