For those who frequently read my media, or at least know some bits about me, it will be no news that I have spent a ridiculous time in this league at one team, the New Orleans Second Line. In fact, it was over 4 irl years in a row for that team for me, as I wrote about before.
With this draft, I knew it was very likely that I was going to end up with a new team and I was excited for this new start, as sad it was to leave behind NOLA. I had some really good conversations with a few different teams in this draft. I thought there was a decent chance I'd be taken by a few different teams if I lasted there. I think one especially surprised me when I was not taken. Admittedly, I did not expect to fall as far as I did in the end.
With the tenth overall pick, Maxwell Jacob Friedman was taken by the Honolulu Hahalua. The Hahalua had a big draft, where they also had the first overall pick and another pick after me in the 1st round. With voxaroth the number 1 pick was also a defensive guy, a cornerback, whereas Thiath later was a WR and an offensive weapon.
I did not know a ton about the Hahalua before being drafted here besides enjoying their name. And going to Hawaii doesn't sound so bad either. But as I usually go all in with teams I am on, I wanted to learn a little bit about the team I am now going to be a part of. Talking to the GMs and some of the teammates has already been great the first few days and I am excited for this journey.
It is fair to say that the Hahalua are in the midst of a rebuild, going 0-16 last year certainly shows that. But that doesn't bother me at all. I made that very clear in scouting conversations, I enjoy a rebuild and being part of a bigger journey. It also allows me to do one of the things that I was asking for most strongly, which is to be a day 1 starter in the majors, in the upcoming season. A rebuilding team like this obviously has space for me, so it worked out very well.
Let's look at some of the Hahalua history first:
The team was created in S22 in expansion then and has been relatively successful overall since then!
Here are the season win records:
S22: 4-9
S23: 7-9
S24: 7-9
S25: 8-8
S26: 3-13
S27: 11-4
S28: 9-7
S29: 3-13
S30: 6-10
S31: 9-7
S32: 9-7
S33: 7-9
S34: 11-5
S35: 13-3
S36: 11-5
S37: 9-7
S38: 0-16
That gives a total record of 127 wins and 141 losses, which doesn't look super good but obviously a 0-16 record last year pulled us down below .500. On top of it, for a team that new and young, it has also won 3 Ultimus titles already which is a great sight to see. And I would love to be a part of the next group that can add a 4th Ultimus to the list one day.
The current GMs are MMFlex and IceBear32, but the team was already founded by Raven and ADwyer87, who I both know and who are awesome people too. I know Raven a bit better admittedly than Dwyer.
I also wanted to get to know some of the team history, which obviously has been a big part of my previous articles in this league and my interest. So let's see who some big names in team history were and learn about my future team.
So here are some team top 10 lists, first career numbers and then seasonal, with a focus on the last season as well.
Stats will be shown as rank, name, games played and then the stat in question.

3 Skywalker, L. 58 14,066
4 Fujiwara, C. 22 6,606
5 Havran, C. 29 5,321
6 St. Christmas, A. 16 4,200
Current QB is still young and new but will climb this list over time. I have heard of a few of these players before. Christ Jr. as the top of the list here surprised me!
MOST CAREER TOUCHDOWNS
RK NAME GP TD
1 Christ Jr., J. 80 136
2 Zaylren, D. 64 125
3 Skywalker, L. 58 90
4 Fujiwara, C. 22 40
5 St. Christmas, A. 16 28
6 Havran, C. 29 21
Very similar picture here as well, with Christmas already in 5th. Christ also in the lead here but it's much closer, showing how strong Zaylren was in finding the end zone.
BEST CAREER QB RATING
RK NAME GP QBR
1 Zaylren, D. 64 95.3
2 Christ Jr., J. 80 91.6
3 St. Christmas, A. 16 88.8
4 Skywalker, L. 58 86.2
5 Fujiwara, C. 22 85.1
Looking at the QB Rating is interesting as it confirms the above stats, with Zaylren performing better than Christ and Christmas already in third place.

7 Tank, G. 16 918
8 Skywalker, L. 58 728
9 Savage, A. 80 716
10 Riggins, J. 16 233
In the running game, Kai is a step above everyone else with a ton more games played too. But cool to see the list further down too and how easily climbable this list is still, besides the first spot. I think we will see a lot of change here. Delphine jr had a big year last year and will likely climb further.

Similar story, with Kai more than doubling everyone else. Delphine already in fifth place here too.

8 Alexander, W. 109 289
9 Kane-Maika'i, K. 77 284
10 Leroy Leroy, D. 108 271
Some big names at the top here. Even the RB Kai is in 4th here. Easily a list that some people can still climb or get into now, especially Mai-Heinous could.
MOST CAREER YARDS
RK NAME GP YDS
1 Kendrick-Watts, E. 112 8,882
2 Podolak, J. 125 8,381

8 Kane-Maika'i, K. 77 3,192
9 Krashwagen, R. 80 3,147
10 Mai-Heinous, L. 48 2,544
Speaking of Mai-Heinous, on this list he already is in the top ten and another year or two with the team would push him up much further still. Kendrick Watts leads both main categories for receivers. Very impressive. Also I think Podolak was someone who I drafted in NOLA originally.

MOST CAREER TACKLES
RK NAME GP TCK
1 Fields, G. 160 1,012
2 Lavigne, D. 160 862
3 Kackpoo, H. 112 785
4 Slammu, B. 112 776
5 Dawkins, S. 160 682
6 Waters, J. 128 647
7 Aqua-Key'Kiann, H. 112 507
8 Walls, X. 80 496
9 Montain, A. 192 486
10 Weperom, M. 128 457
Admittedly, defense is probably the category I was most interested in, given my position will be on the defense. Those are definitely some big names that I recognize. From Lavigne to Kackpoo, Slammu and Montain, these are all people I played against or with, I think. 1,012 tackles is a lot, but it's something I could easily achieve with this player. I already have acquired the first goal I guess.
MOST CAREER TACKLES FOR LOSS
RK NAME GP TFL
1 Slammu, B. 112 68
2 Montain, A. 192 57

7 Noble Jr., L. 45 28
8 Kackpoo, H. 112 26
9 Beanman, B. 64 23
10 Rucker, R. 32 15
As a former DE I know how tough TFLs can be. 68 are a lot for a record to beat. But it's possible I should at least get into the top ten here at some point. We shall see what my stats look like. Slammu was a monster though.

9 Noble Jr., L. 45 25

What a stat by Slammu. I know how tough 100 sacks are. Crazy career from him. Still, that is easily also a top ten list I should be on sooner or later.

Obviously the top is reserved for Cornerbacks and my fellow first rounder CB, however I feel like with enough seasons I should be able to get into the top 10 here, just a couple interceptions at a time.

What did we learn? Well I don't know. But it did give me a better context for the team I am on now and what records I have to break in the future. Let's go for it.
#RideTheWave

Current QB is still young and new but will climb this list over time. I have heard of a few of these players before. Christ Jr. as the top of the list here surprised me!

Very similar picture here as well, with Christmas already in 5th. Christ also in the lead here but it's much closer, showing how strong Zaylren was in finding the end zone.

Looking at the QB Rating is interesting as it confirms the above stats, with Zaylren performing better than Christ and Christmas already in third place.

In the running game, Kai is a step above everyone else with a ton more games played too. But cool to see the list further down too and how easily climbable this list is still, besides the first spot. I think we will see a lot of change here. Delphine jr had a big year last year and will likely climb further.

Speaking of Mai-Heinous, on this list he already is in the top ten and another year or two with the team would push him up much further still. Kendrick Watts leads both main categories for receivers. Very impressive. Also I think Podolak was someone who I drafted in NOLA originally.

8 Walls, X.
