This is more or less an open letter to all GMs, because I feel like I've given somewhat inconsistent information in scouting conversations. Some of that depends on the questions your scouts asked, so I'll do my best not to give any information that extends outside the mostly generic types of scouting questions. Of course it's also possible that if you didn't ask enough questions to get me talking about all of this you weren't interested, but I'd much rather pretend that all of you are desperate to draft me and that this article is going to be absolutely critical. Otherwise I wouldn't waste my time writing it and yours making you read this caffeine fueled garbage pile masquerading as media about my silly little soon-to-be professional dot. Obviously I'm also assuming anyone will bother reading this, which may in fact be a stretch. I suppose that's enough filler, for now, though.
1. Are you willing to change positions?
I think I have been most inconsistent in my response to this, but I don't think it's been in a way that would change anyone's decision about drafting me. The short answer is kind of, but only because I'm interested in playing multiple positions - which I'll get to in a moment - and am mostly willing to be a little bit flexible to make that happen. Ultimately I lean toward wanting to stay at Tight End, but if, say, Running Back would let me achieve that more easily then I might be open to it. To condense that as much as possible, you should not draft me anticipating that I'd switch positions to do what I want, but know that I might be willing to if I trust the brain trust of your team enough to make it work for me.
2. Do you have any plans for your player?
I think most of you asked this, and I was again a little bit inconsistent because the more I got asked this question the more I started to think about it and maybe the more my answer started to change. I don't want to re-read what I said, especially not when I can get paid to re-write it instead. Back to the plan thing, though. I'd like to play all of Fullback, Tight End, and Wide Receiver. Kind of like an H-Back, but better. Generally I assume that wide out will require quite a bit more TPE to make work - that's fine. I'm not really expecting to have all of this immediately. This is just kind of an in my ideal world type of idea. I'll be more willing to make concessions on this early on, but if I continue to earn then this is what I'm working toward. Which kind of leads into the next question...
3. What happened with your last player? What level of activity do you think you'll have/do you think you'll keep this up/whatever other variation of this exists?
My last player was just created on a whim. I was really bored at work virtually every day and thought I might fill some time with this again. I pretty quickly realized that I still wasn't all that interested in it again at that point, so my activity faded from barely there to non-existent. I think one of you mentioned to me that I've already passed that player in TPE, so that should give you some idea about how I feel about things this time, but a lot can change. Which brings me to activity level this time. I really, really would like to keep it up. I'm enjoying updating my player, poking around the league, etc. again and I don't imagine that that's going to change. That being said, I probably wouldn't expect me to be someone who buys max equipment every year. I don't like writing media or doing graphics. And even if I continue to enjoy myself, I might miss a PT or prediction on occasion. I'm just much busier outside of the league than I was when I first joined something like four or even five years ago. Short version of all of that is I think you can believe in me staying active, but your expectation should probably not be whatever rate I've earned at since recreating, in large part because I won't have the money for equipment. But outside of that I should continue to be solid.
4. Do you have any issues with playing for [Team Name/Abbreviation]?
Nope, I'm open to playing anywhere. If anything I'd say that I have a preference toward teams I've never been a part of, just to continue to make the experience here feel fresh for myself. I don't care if your team is rebuilding, contending, somewhere in between. I have my own more specific preferences based on some of the scouting conversations I've had, but that's mostly based on the engagement I gave/got from the conversations, and I imagine that the more engaged your end was the more interested you are in me. Why wouldn't you be after this very useful and reassuring media?
