After careful consideration, I have elected that I am going to go ahead and retire the mostly IA player Able Archer.
Coming back to the league I had zero clue what was going to come of myself as a user as a I was pretty well stuck in shit due to my misfortunes and malpractices. Therefore, I knew that the player is was going to create wasn't going to be a player I was going to invest all my time, money (or what little there was), or effort into him. But, Archer proved to be a valuable lesson to me. It's not just about the player in this league, its about the person behind the player.
It was a bumpy road getting back to the being even with the league, as I knew I needed to win back the support of the community in order to feel relevant again, as opposed to being relevant in terms of being one of the biggest cheaters in the history of the league. While I sheepishly reestablished myself back into the league, there were many groups of people who still supported me (even though in the beginning I needed to earn their trust). And to those people, not enough thank you's will be enough to properly give my appreciation.
@Trempale took me in to my former of Myrtle/Bondi Beach and while he stated he would be putting me on a short leash, it proved that I didn't even need a leash at all. It was never going to be the MBB of the past, but it was still the reintroduction back to the league that I needed to make me feel like I belonged again. Shout out to all the MBB/BBB boys once again for sticking with me and being rockstars, not only with my past player, but with Archer as well.
With having negative money, I knew that I couldn't earn like all the other people in my class, so I really needed to bust my ass to get back into the green. Shoutout to @Yeenoghu for giving me a chance and allowing me to join the Budget team to help get some money back in the bank. Shoutout also to @Cody for giving me a chance with the DSFL Awards Committee as well.
During my quest of earning and reestablishing myself, I was picked up by Philadelphia in the draft, joining the likes of @Pat, @Cody, @negs, and @Luciddreams702, amongst other awesome people in the locker room. While motivating me once in a while to earn and be useful, they were a group of dudes that I could have a talk with about anything on our minds, whether it be sports, the league, or other dumb shit. It was simply sublime. Shoutout to @negs specifically for being a real guy to have a conversation with about the league or personal matters. It meant so much to me that I was able to have real talk with him and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Also shoutout to the boys for helping being one of the architects for the relocation of Philadelphia to Cape Town. I was finally able to use my writing skills to make a contribution to the league in a meaningful matter which was rad.
After I was suspended I went out into the forest not expecting to be found by anyone. But, after making signs leading to where I was, I eventually got found, and had the opportunity to come back with open arms. It has been an outstanding privilege to continue to be a member of the league and I will continue to try to be a competent individual who seeks to improve not only myself but the league around me.
I thank any and all for this opportunity. While this is the last of Able Archer, this isn't the last of Faded. Hopefully I'll be more active in the future, but I got some things to figure out in my life before I go back to sim leaguing. But in the meantime, I'll stick around. Archer's got one more season in him.
And hopefully I have more seasons in me.
