To pass the time until my weekly DSFL Power Rankings and Predictions, I'm releasing an exclusive Power Rankings that only factors how super-excellent each DSFL teams home city Beach is.
1. Bondi Beach Buccaneers
Why Stay in Bondi Beach? The beach boasts a 1-kilometer glimmering beach strip that also produces world-class waves, making it popular for surfing enthusiasts. It is also the only beach in Australia that is open all year round.
2. Norfolk Seawolves
Norfolk has 7.3 miles of public beaches for visitors to play in the sun, sand, and surf! Located along the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay, the calmer waters and ample free parking, make Norfolk's beaches ideal for a family day at the beach.
3. Tijuana Luchadores
Playas de Tijuana (Spanish for "beaches of Tijuana") is the westernmost borough of the municipality of Tijuana, Baja California, stretching from the United States border in the north to Rosarito Beach Municipality in the south.
4. Minnesota
Minnesota state parks are home to hundreds of lakes and beaches that provide a safe, enjoyable experience for all ages. Scout out these spots to find your perfect swimming hole and enjoy a day at the beach!
5. Portland
Plenty of sandy beachfront, a gorgeous view of the Columbia River and relatively few crowds makes Sauvie Island's Willow Bar Beach, in our opinion, the best beach in Portland. However, Cannon Beach and Seaside are two quintessential beach towns on the Oregon coast–and two of the closest to Portland. They are less than 10 miles from one another on the northern Oregon coast, and an approximately 80-mile drive on Highway 26 from Portland.
6. London
Believe it or not, the closest beach to London is actually on the Piccadilly Line! In Ruislip, West London, a 700-acre woodland nature reserve is home to a gorgeous natural lake, with a genuine sandy beach. Woodland trails, a miniature train, and pirate ship for kids are also on offer, but despite what you may see in the photo above, swimming is technically not permitted.
7. Dallas
You'll have to drive for over 250 miles from Dallas to Galveston. But, trust me, it's worth the long drive. After all, Galveston Island is jam-packed with family-friendly diversions. From surfing to sunbathing, the island is a haven of fun for beach bums.
8. Kansas City
If you're driving to a town near the beach or coastline, you could try Bridge City. The distance from Kansas City (Kansas) to the ocean is about 906 miles if you measure to the Atlantic Ocean. It is also about 1,212 miles to the Pacific Ocean.
