Aaron Jager suffered an shoulder injury a few weeks before the draft. Despite this, Jager began to focus on his speed. He knew that his ability to block would be hindered from his injury, but by bolstering his leg strength, he could still provide value as a tight end. While doing sprints with a sprained shoulder isn't easy, he was able do so in a limited fashion, as well as jogging and putting in time in the gym with machines that don't require the use of the upper body. Despite the setback of missing the draft, Jager's shoulder eventually healed and he was signed via waivers near the end of the season. While his upper body strength is still suffering from his injury, his sprint times have dropped dramatically and he is focusing on his role as a receiving-focused tight end. He hopes to improve his abilities related to upper body next season, but for now his explosive speed is serving him well.
