I'm Martin Bachman, a football player, and fried chicken Connoisseur. Fried chicken is what give me the energy to train and play as hard as I physically can. My dad Bo Bachman taught me everything I know about fried chicken and football. I played at Grenada High through high school, and Mississippi State through college. I wanted to be a wide receiver growing up, but always ate to much fried chicken and was to big for the position. So my high school coach put me at TE and I've been playing that position ever since. We're getting close to the DSFL draft and I have a few games played in the Prospect Bowl so I figured this would be a good time to answer any question ya'll might have.
Q: @LHarm - "Favorite fast food chicken place?"
A: @Martin.Bachman - It's easily gotta be Church's Chicken. My dad owned the local Church's and in high school we had a ritual of him bringing in chicken for the team at halftime. We had more second half comebacks than I can count. It always gave us the boost of energy we needed to finish the game strong. Church's knows how to fry chicken like no other. They season it to perfection and let them fry for just the right amount of time, leaving them crispy, yet juicy. Don't even get me started on their biscuits.
Q: @Purpl3Spartan - "If you were a robot, what would be the first thing you'd do?"
A @Martin.Bachman - That's a tough one. I think I'd like to be a robot that fries chicken. I wonder if I could out fry one of my dad's head fry chefs. It would be a real John Henry situation. Could the machine outperform man. We know in the end John Henry beat the machine in that story and Church's has never disappointed me yet, so I think it would end much the same way. I'm a competitive guy though so I'd still like to give it a try.
Q: @Chicken Lips - "As a fellow tight end, what makes Martin stand outin the sea of prospects? If you have to give up one of your senses, which would it be?"
A: @Martin.Bachman - For the first question I would have to say my strength and ability to finish plays. I've stacked up 4 touchdowns over 4 games. I also have good hands with 11 receptions on 16 targets in the Prospect Bowl. I think once the TE class is more spread out in the DSFL following the draft, I'll have more of a chance to stand out. I think my teammates on the Golden Eagles in the TE position Hank and Aaron are also going to be big time players and I can't wait to get the chance to play against them in the DSFL. The competition between the three of us has been great for all of our developments. As far as my senses, I think I would have to give up smell. I wouldn't be able to bask in the divine smell of freshly fried chicken, but I can't imagine losing any of my other senses.
