Hello everyone! I have not posted in a bit but I am back but this won't be a too intricate series from myself like most posts are but instead it will be recognizing one player that the sim decided should have a good game this week on each individual team and how they helped lead their team. This first one will be a rookie only post so a rookie from each team will get a shout!!! This list will favor new creates as well so that may be a reason someone makes it over you.
Bondi Beach Buccaneers : Trevor Prowler CB (5 Tackles 1 Pass Defended)
The Buccaneers didn't have a great week on either side of the ball and did not see many rookies put up a good amount of stats but I feel that good defense is under appreciated and for Prowlers first game at the DSFL level he did not do too bad. Obviously we would love to see Prowler do better but for a corner that just started this is a great stat line and we look to see him improve from here on. One of Prowlers tackles had stopped a receiver at the one yard line which led to the Bondi defense tightening up and limiting Norfolk to a FG which is great and shows that his impact is being seen already!
Dallas Birddogs : LeHarm James K/P (3/3 XPs, 1/1 20-29, 1/1 50+)
Since I am leaning new creates on this list LeHarm easily takes the cake with his performance this week with a perfect FG percentage and a 50 yarder to top it all off. If the Dallas offense had continued to play as they did in the first half this game could have gone a whole different way as LeHarm could've continued to decimate from range but alas things fell apart but that did not stop LeHarm James from having a fantastic game. I look forward to seeing if he can beat the longest kick record for DSFL with already sending a 50 yard FG all the way!
Kansas City Coyotes : Sonny Johnson DT (8 Tackles)
Sonny Johnson may not have had a great game stat wise but I see his impact on the game as much larger. Johnson made sure to shut down the run game limiting the London RB to one yard on less on almost all 8 of his tackles which is a great achievement as they were able to completely shut down the run game and force a rookie QB to throw. In a normal week this award goes to Jake Jefferson for just running circles around the Royals unfortunately but its not a normal week! So congrats to Johnson on the big impact on the D-Line against the Royals rushing offense. Additionally recorded second most tackles among rookies and was first among DTs in the DSFL.
London Royals : Josh Patterson QB ( 30/43, 335 Yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT)
For a rookie QBs first game where he didn't even play his own position during prospect bowl he has proven he is ready for the league with a 3 TD performance to start the season. One bad thing is he managed to scare away one of his Wide Receivers during preseason so um thats a bit unlucky! Patterson found himself with second most passing yards among QBs this past week. For a game where the defense did not perform Patterson made it as close as he possibly could!
Minnesota Grey Ducks : Hank Mardukas (5 Receptions, 71 Yards, 1 TD)
Hank had a great game at the TE position with a great Minnesota receiver core and proved he was not to be underestimated. A couple highlight plays for Mardukas is a 46 yard reception that secured a field goal right before the end of the half which was very important in this nailbiter of a game at the time! Later on in the game Mardukas was able to get a crucial first down at the end of the game which allowed them to secure a TD which was a big difference maker as well! I hope to see Mardukas continue this consistency.
Norfolk Seawolves : Geno McFly (5 Receptions, 48 Yards, 1 Pancake)
The Norfolk new create rookies did not shine too much so I feel like shouting out another offensive player is what needs to be done! Geno McFly comes into a receiving core of Norfolk that was decimated after call-ups and position switches so this is great news for Norfolk as they are working towards improving a slower offense. One player in particular had 17 targets and 6 catches which I am no math genius but that is awful lol. Anyways McFly had a great game and for a player whos only updated once even better.
Portland Pythons : Eldroh Kove (21 Attempts, 160 Rushing Yards, 1 Touchdown)
Kove is a new create RB who had a great game despite being a late create and put up the best yardage among running backs this week. The only missing part of his great performance is he was not involved in the passing game and hopefully Portland will be able to get him involved with his playmaking ability. Kove had an early rush in the first quarter that propelled the Pythons to their first score and despite the Pythons not winning Kove made a statement in this game!
Tijuana Luchadores : Dino Nuggets (6 Tackles, 1 FF/1 FR, 2 PDs)
The man, the myth, the nugget! Dino Nuggets came on as the CB2 looking to bolster an already great pass defense by the Luchadores with player Ezra Azazel leaving and he put up a wonderful stat line this week forcing a big turnover within the first two minutes of the game which set a statement. Dino Nuggets also made a huge stop on third and 20 which prevented the Birddogs from recovering and potentially scoring. With the help of Dino Nuggets, the Luchadores held the Birddogs scoreless in the second half after a shootout in the first half!
Sorry for the delay this week I do plan to pump these out weekly though, just got busy with other things. Congrats to all of the rookies though
