Welcome to the S42 Season edition of the ISFL newsletter! As we approach the end of another enthralling season, it's time to once more update you on different areas of the league.
Current ISFL HO Lineup and full HO History
At the end of last season, @zeagle1 decided to step down from HO. Initially a DSFL HO Member, he decided to transfer to ISFL HO in April 2022. Across both HOs, Zeagle served for over 500 days, so a massive thank you to everything he’s done in that time. Most recently, he stepped up when the GFX department was in bad shape, made new hires and played a big part in clearing the backlog. So, thank you for your incredible work, for being a great help during discussions and for stepping up when needed.
Furthermore, as we draw closer to the end of this season, HO will be saying goodbye to full-time HO members @ReverendOReily and @DREAMSLOTH as well as HO Interns @Memento Mori and @Gadget. Rev will leave us as one of just 9 users to have cracked 400 days service and in that time he’s contributed significantly to helping the wheels of Head Office run smoothly. Dreamsloth was another great addition back in S38 and has helped us out a ton with behind the scenes work and always sharing insights on any issues that came up. A big thank you to both Gadget and Mori too for their service over the last couple of seasons, whose contributions were highly valued. Thank you all!
With this, the current HO lineup is @Swanty, @DarknessRising”,@Amidships, @Opera_Phantom and @firstfray. Anything you need from us, feel free to reach out. We will also use this time to publicize the fact that HO is hiring once more, with a rare possibility of not just hiring individuals as interns, but as potential full HO members immeidately. To find out how to apply, click here . Applications close TOMORROW!
Speaking of lineups and days completed as HO Members, there’s now an HO History Sheet you can check to see all past and present ISFL/DSFL HO Members. Not sure on who started this, probably a long time ago, (Darkness got it from Bex) and with the help of many other HO members and have kept it up-to-date. Feel free to check it, pay no attention if you find some of the “Tenure Days” not organized properly, as they have to be updated manually every once in a while and if you find any errors or have a suggestion to help in keeping the sheet tidy, please let us know. You can find it below.

Merging Update and Player threads
Early on last season, we rolled out and executed merging Update and Player threads together, no longer requiring individuals who create a player to have two separate posts or to have a separate thread maintained by the updaters with a player’s current stats. Since rolling this out, we have found little to no issues with its implementation, users and particularly updaters have easily transitioned to the new system. Occasionally, returning creates who didn’t know about this change still automatically assume they have to create a roster and update page so we will continue to look into refining the language in the rulebook and approval posts to try and limit that from happening. Furthermore, since the change, we no longer had a need for teams to have separate areas for player pages, so all of those have been removed to keep the site tidy.
HoF Nominations
For the last few seasons, the Hall of Fame has been added to the revamped awards (now called honors) show. This has removed the reliance on the posts that get written up to see who are the newest additions to the Hall. After the last couple of seasons’ posts have been caught up and posted, we wanted to remind people that they possess the ability to nominate players for consideration for joining the Hall of Fame, as well as General Managers and Users for their own respective Hall of Fame. This is a great way to nominate a player you felt was overlooked or may have been forgotten about. As for GM’s and Users, nominating someone is the only way they are considered for a ballot, so we highly encourage individuals to make use of the nomination form that is on every HoF post to recognise people they think are deserving of it.
The nomination form is the same for all 3 Hall of Fames, and can be found here - https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQ...=send_form
Community Events
Recently the team has changed hands to be run under the guise of @LiathTheSquirrel and we are excited to see what a full season of events looks like from a new and enthusiastic crew. Not too long ago a poker night was run through discord, as well as recently having a community game night including the likes of Jackbox and Among Us where we consistently saw a stream of people jump into games, have laughs and bond together like the community we wish to foster. Be on the lookout for announcements on future events, and if you want to ensure you get these, you will have the ability in the ISFL general server to select a role that allows you to be pinged by the Community Engagement team to be notified at all times. The next community event will be another community games night, taking place on Monday the 10th of July, at 8pm EST. It will once again be hosted by @DeadlyPlayer who deserves some recognition for his work in tirelessly advertising and running such events for the league and creating positive spaces for interaction between all our users.
Dynasty Football
Getting close to a year ago now, a group of dedicated users started running Dynasty Fantasy leagues within the league, where players would build up a team and score points akin to fantasy, but keep the team year on year, versus a group of other players with money on the line. Now into their sixth season, and receiving support from HO to ensure their incredible devotion to providing a fun adjunct fantasy league, the league has grown to house 6 leagues with 6 people in each. The organizers (@domffl @TubaDeus and @DREAMSLOTH) are happy to keep adding groups if people are interested, as well as always looking for replacements if people wish to drop out, so feel free to hit them up for any questions you may have or expressing your interest to try to form your own dynasty today!.
Latest Store Updates
The store now has San Jose Sabercats and Cape Town Crash Merch added!! FInally fans of the teams can get their team-affiliated swag and wear it with pride. We are still working with the remaining teams around copyright issues to get them also onto the store, and in time all teams will be present. In terms of merchandise available, small corner patch logo shirts are now available as an alternative to shirts with a big chest logo. Furthermore, we are exploring ideas around adding merchandise that includes Ultimus and Ultimini host city logos, WFC region logos or Color Rush. If you have any thoughts, feelings or ideas about this, please feel free to share them in a reply here or directly to HO.
Pride Month
Whilst it may now be July it is still important to us as a management group representing the league, to put forth how important it is to celebrate one another as individuals and unique human beings despite Pride Month being over. No single month or event should signal the only time to accept and support others, we are all humans first and should see each other like that without lenses such as gender or sexuality. We all need to support these individuals who have been disparaged and ridiculed in society every single day of every single month, not just for the 30 days of June, as for them, it is a life-long issue of areas in society not accepting who they wish to be.There are constantly and more stories of how they are being marginalized and ostracized from society for their innate feelings that shows just how wrong this world can be.
Our community stretches far across the world and thus brings together an extreme array of people from different life backgrounds that can unite together over silly dot football and friendship. As HO, we strive to ensure no matter who you are, you can feel welcomed and apart of this league. There are definitely times we drop the ball or are unaware of situations that have happened, so we will continue to improve us and the league to be an environment for all, as should all of society strive to be too.
Server Costs
As I'm sure you already know, the league server costs money, so every once in a while we like to remind the users that you can help with these costs. The league is grateful to every single one of the users that donated, so if by any chance you’d like to contribute safely with a few dollars to keep us going.
