Draft day was crazy. It started the complete opposite way tho. As he woke up, he knew it was Thursday because of the blues his mom played for him. You could tell which day it is based upon who's playing, and draft day was Duke Ellington. Appropriate given the hype train to follow.
First off he went into his Redcoats locker room one last time. He worked alongside amazing players like Thor, Zenzeroni, and Pat and had to pay tributes. Thor helped him come into his own in the league. And Zenzeroni pushed him to be much more active in the locker room and league in general. Honestly, I was even jealous at how much media he's able to get done!
Then I went into the dsfl lounge to watch it all unfold. What followed was the most pleasantly unhinged hype event this player has seen. The memes started as soon as the stream did. Even tho it was early however, in evidently typical fashion the stream still started late. But when it did every was intently listening. Up until Toof took over the mic anyways and destroyed a few ears.
First off the board was Orange Julius. Someone he had to go against a few times. Completely understandable why he went 1OA and I don't think anyone would disagree.
Second came Jamie Cassiopeia. A newcomer who obviously made a few good impressions. My pride definitely took a hit here because I figured I had been active enough. But Ursa was smart enough to purchase their T6 equipment and got the TPE advantage, so this will just be bulletin board material.
Next we had a run on defense. Nobody I was particularly close to so no real comment besides the fact these are obvious dogs. Every defensive back loves a good d lineman because it saves us so much energy from chasing receivers.
Speaking of, Alexander Hamlin. Showed me what a returner really looked like in the worst of ways. Amazing guy, great pick, unfortunate I'll have to work against him from now on!
My guy Pat Uncertain!! My fellow redcoat and also a great guy. The only DB I was ok going behind. We did a great job stopping long throws as long as the play didn't have me in the box.
By now 2 of the top DBs went, and teams still had needs to fill. I knew I was close up, and as soon as I saw London was up next something told me it was to be.
When it was announced my whole family tuned out the Duke! You couldn't hear anything over the shouts. I managed to get a call in and talk to the team, but was quickly mobbed by everyone. Now I get to look forward to learning new faces, and being on the same team as an orange and a waffle!!
