READY TO GRADE
Emerson Bigguns: Good afternoon everyone! I will now be taking questions.
Swoosh: What's your favorite dipping sauce for chicken nuggets?
EB: Ooooo... that one is tough. My first reaction is to say BBQ sauce but there is something to be said about that Chick-Fil-A sauce. I'll say this, BBQ sauce if we are at McDonald's but Chick-Fil-A sauce if we are eating there.
Swoosh: How does it feel to be claimed by the Tijuana Luchadores?
EB: Let's gooooooooo! When I heard the news I went out into the streets and shouted out my best Kevin Garnett impression that "ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!!" For real though, the Luchadores are a top tier team in the league, and I am fortunate that they claimed me. I want to thank them for taking a chance on me, and I will do my best to pay them back with my play on the field. Honestly, the game is won and lost in the trenches; that is why I play DT and why the Luchadores picked me up. If you can stop the run and rush the passer, you can take over the game. I consider myself a force in the middle of the field, but I pride myself in being competitive and intelligent as well. In due time, I believe that I can be a perceptive role model and a true competitor for the Luchadores.
Swoosh: What is Sarasota RB Ace Anderson's worst trait?
EB: I have seen film and seen the stats; that guy barely averages 4 yards per carry. His worst trait? Ace is a JAG... just a guy. He plods forward and is a pedestrian running back. It's no wonder that through 8 weeks of this season Sarasota is 3-5.
GrimmCrackers: You're a big man, but what made you choose DT specifically over maybe an offensive lineman position?
EB: I have played defensive line since I was a kid and specifically DT all through high school. I think it had to do with the fact that I like *doing* the hitting than being rushed at. It helps that I am good at the position and understand the techniques to best succeed there.
GrimmCrackers: If Tijuana didn't claim you is there any other DSFL team you'd want to play for?
EB: First of all, no offense to the other teams but being a Luchador is the best possible match for me. As a DT, I feel like I can come right in and contribute right away. Other than that, as a rookie I would have been grateful to any other team that would have claimed me off of waivers... except Dallas... they are the literal worst. I probably would have had to pull a Bo Jackson and switch sports.
GrimmCrackers: What are your top goals for your first season?
EB: Jumping in during the middle of the season is not ideal, but my main goals for this first season are to (1) help the Tijuana Luchadores win the Ultimini, (2) become the game wrecker that I know I can be, and (3) earn as much money as I can! (*hums C.R.E.A.M. from Wu Tang Clan*)
