The season in the ISFL is over and the new champion is crowned. Congratulations to the Honolulu Hahalua. They beat the Cape Town Crash in an exciting Ultimus championship game with 6 lead changes with the final score of 43-36.
The game started with a bang when Crash RB Nakiri Ayame returned the opening kickoff 108 yards for a TD and the early lead for the Crash. Another big play about 6:30 minutes in the game was the first score for Honolulu when QB Nova Montagne found WR Florida Man for a 73-yard TD pass to tie the game at 7 each. With 2:49 left in the first quarter the Crash scored again when QB Creg Jerrith IV found WR Kairo Knight in the endzone with a 2yard pass for a TD and the Crash lead was 14-7 when the first quarter ended.
In the second quarter the Hahalua scored 3 FGs and a TD with only one score for the Crash the score at half time was 23-21 Honolulu.
The Hahalua extended their lead by kicking another FG to 26-21. About 4 minutes later in the game Crash veteran RB Jarvis Harbinger-Marjin rushed for a 4-yd TD and the Crash were leading again, this time the score was 29-26 after a 2-point conversion was completed. The fifth FG from Honolulu kicker Ray Baker tied the score at 29. With 0:04 on the clock in the third quarter the Crash scored again a TD when QB Jerrith IV found TE AMerican Boot in the endzone for a 7-yard TD and the score at the end of 3 quarters was 36-29 Cape Town.
In the fourth quarter Honolulu tied the game with a 6-yard TD pass from Montagne to RB Bean Delphine with plenty of time on the clock (11:21). Cape Towns next possession started on their 18-yard line and after a sack by LB Caleb Hayden the Crash punted the ball away from their 25-yard line. Honolulu got the ball with 7:19 and even though the possession started wit a sack from Crash DT Christian Marciano the Hahalua were able to convert a 4th-and-1 and marched down the filed into Cape Town territory. With 2:09 and 3rd and 9 Montagne completed a 25-yard pass to RB Bean Delphine to move the ball to the Cape Town 21-yard line and with the very next play QB Montagne completed a 21-yard pass to WR Octavio Perez and the Hahalua took the lead again with 1:52 remaining in the game. After kickoff and return the Crash started their possession on their 14-yard line and 1:28 to go. After another sack from Hahalua DT Bridge Burner the Crash faced a 4th and 7 with 1:09 on the clock. A 9-yard pass from Jerrith IV to Harbinger-Marjin extended the drive. A couple plays later the Crash reached midfiled with only 0:33 left on the clock. After a false start penalty against Cape Town and an 5-yard comletion the Crash faced the ultimate 4th and 9 on the Hahalua 45-yard line. The pass from Jerrith IV to Harbinger-Marjin only went for 4 yards and the ball was turned over on downs to the Hahalua with 0:12 on the clock. With no more time outs for the Crash the Honolulu Hahalua line up in victory formation and kneeled the ball and let the time ran out. This is when the celebratiosn began and they are still celebrating on the island.. Congratulation Honolulu for the champion ship of season 44.
