Hello ISFL GMs (and other esteemed ISFL Media enjoyers),
I am formally announcing my intention to test free agency this offseason. This is not a decision made lightly as I have built a deep connection with Orange County and love the locker room environment there. When I created at fullback my intention was to have a mercenary career, testing FA every few offseasons and moving around teams several times over the course of my career. Of course, plans quickly changed when I accepted the GM position as bowl and TT left, and I have no regrets as those were some amazing seasons. Now that the team is securely in the hands of Beck and Cord and Leandre Diarra is approaching his twilight seasons, I would like to renew that mercenary spirit and make at least a few team changes on my way to the regression scrap pile.
With the backstory out of the way, let me now discuss my goals as a free agent as they are probably a little unusual. Overall, my goal at fullback has been to be a key support player to a running back. I would love to be a kingmaker for high quality running backs, hopping from team to team to elevate the RB play and achieve pro bowls / first-team all pros / award consideration / top fantasy status. This means I am looking for:
- An active (both in the not-inactive and participating on Discord senses) running back, preferably close to 1000 TPE or more.
- A single lead back who will command a majority of snaps in the offense.
- A team willing to support a run-heavy offensive style to maximize RB award consideration chances, preferably using lots of IForm/ProSet and Jumbo formations to line me up at FB very often.
- A strong offensive line to help me pave the way.
I appreciate that a team signing a fullback in free agency and then committing to Smashmouth 20 across the board is probably not the greatest route to success in the ISFL (sadly!!), so of course I am willing to negotiate exactly how run heavy or how much FB use is enough for me. Diarra can also serve as a solid TE (especially TE2) especially in a pass protection role, and I can definitely envision being used as a WR3-4 or a rotational RB in Spread/Shotgun formations as well. Talking to me in depth about how your formation depth charts would look with me is a great way to sell me on your team!
Long live fullbacks.
