I did a quick breakdown of how effective each offense is at scoring points and TDs as part of a discussion, threw together some formulas so I figured I would share.
Note: This does not take into account possessions that ended because of time expiring. There haven't been many of those so it shouldn't be a HUGE impact. It also does not have fumbles from the last couple of games.
We'll start from worst to best.
- The Yeti have scored touch downs on 4.7% of their drives and scored any points (TDs+FGs) on 11.6% of their drives, which is the league worst by a large margin.
- The Legion have scored touch downs on 9.6% of their drives and scored any points (TDs+FGs) on 20.5% of their drives/
- The Liberty have scored touch downs on 15.2% of their drives and scored any points (TDs+FGs) on 21.7% of their drives.
- The SaberCats have scored touch downs on 11.4% of their drives and scored any points (TDs+FGs) on 25.7% of their drives. Some interesting things here are that the Cats have barely scored TDs at a higher rate than the Legion and are actually WORSE than Philly. Another fun fact is that they lead the league in punts by a HUGE margin. They have the most possessions in the league, but at least they aren't turning the ball over.
- The Hawks have scored touch downs on 16.9% of their drives and scored any points (TDs+FGs) on 30.1% of their drives.
- The Wraiths have scored touch downs on 19.8% of their drives and scored any points (TDs+FGs) on 32.6% of their drives.
- The Outlaws have scored touch downs on 20.8% of their drives and scored any points (TDs+FGs) on 45.2% of their drives. The Outlaws have the most overall scoring, but they're behind the Otters in getting TDs. They have the 2nd most offensive possessions in the league.
The Otters have scored touch downs on 32.9% of their drives and scored any points (TDs+FGs) on 44.7% of their drives. The Otters are CRUSHING it in how often they score TDs, but they also have the 2nd fewest total possessions in the league.
