Hello again everyone! I'm back with another cash gr- I mean interview with a famous London player! Last time we got the workhorse of the team, this time we have the speedster of the team and a huge help to the GMs. This user was an immediate pick for me based on name alone, but how active and involved he became surprised everyone on the team! The only way he could be better was if he wasn't associated with some random orange team. Without any further banter, I present to you: Chopper Donquixote!
1. Hello Chopper. I'll start this like a usual scouting conversation to make this easier. What's been your experience in the league so far as a WR?
I love being a WR. I truly believe it is one of, if not the most, rewarding position in the league. You can really see the progress you make week to week as your drops decrease and you gain a few more yards after catch. Also it is very fun to engage with the secondary in discord. There is a subtle rivalry (sometimes heated with a certain 1oa pick) between receivers and the secondary. Honestly, I think when it comes to recreating it will be hard for me not to make another wide out.
2. How have your locker rooms contributed to your experience in the league?
I truly believe that locker rooms are the difference in the league. I love how each team has their own space to engage with each other and I love talking to my friends about how each other's team's locker rooms are. Each LR has a different style for sure. For example Minn is very active in their channel that includes people from outside the team, while we at London are significantly more active in the team only channel. Plus the custom emojis/emotes really make each locker room. Orange County has the best by far and that was a statement made by myself before I was even drafted there. I would encourage more ISFL teams to invite more prospects to their LR's as it benefits them for others to see their LR culture.
3. Can you speak on the relationships you've built in the league? Any rivals you'd like to call out or teams you want to address?
First off, Joe even if you weren’t the one interviewing me you’d be the first one I’d list. I truly wouldn’t be at London if it wasn’t for you so thank you for that. Breed and Griis are IRL friends of mine and we always have a friendly rivalry going. Also amkamkamk is a great guy and has made phenomenal media so shoutout to him for that. The next person I’d say is Croney. While admittedly I hate Tijuana (only because they’re so damn good every year), gotta love the ISFL’s fun uncle in Mr. Croney. Bamford is great as much as I give him shit. He does well for his age and also is the reason I was drafted into the SHL juniors. Rivals wise I’d say all my friends listed above im rivals with. The team I have the most beef with would have to be the Dallas Birddogs for being the only team not to scout me. And NOLA purely for the sake of the rivalry with OCO. Shoutout Beck elite GM right there. The ISFL is nothing without its great community and I truly believe we have one here.
4. What do you think of your performance on the field? How do you think your team could better utilize both you and the team as a whole to benefit you?
Performance on the field has been great this season! I think I’m the second ranked WR in the DSFL this season, which is not too shabby. There’s zero problem with the way I’ve been utilized. I have the fortunate issue of having other talented guys in the WR core with Wilson and Tez so sure they take some reps I wish were aimed at me but we all have our own strengths. Whatever it takes for us to win the game I’ll do it. Only real complaint is the obligatory Scud pick every game which almost always is thrown my way with my luck *sadge*. Love London a lot and hope to do more great things there.
5. What aspect(s) of the league would you say you like? What about dislike?
I love our community and the depth of the league. People really don’t understand how much there is to do at first. My major complaint is that I really wish we could get a portal like the SHL as I think it would do great things for the ISFL, and keep users more engaged. One other complaint would be how we handle tampering. Jokes aside, we really need to lay out what is and isn’t tampering so that way there is a clear cut on what can/cannot be done. People seem to be too sensitive about the topic and I’d rather have things laid out. One last change I’d love (this is the law student in me coming out) is for us to have one large page with all decisions and punishments on it that way there’s is a judicial record of sort.
6. What did winning Most Dedicated Player mean to you? Do you now have a big head?
I hate to admit it but so many people knew I got it before I did as I had an obligation that day. I came back home to so many @s it was hilarious. Honestly I think more than anything it’s allowed me a bit of comfort. I don’t care much for popularity so to say; but love being able to ease into a conversation with anyone in the league. No big head but a cheeky smirk from time to time. I’m still just me and love to joke around in discord.
7. Rumor has it that you're due for a job soon. Any ideas on what you'd like to do?
Hmmmm the rumor mill must really be running. I do wonder what it could be. Whatever it is I promise to do my best at it and hopefully innovate new things at the position. No further comment on this matter until a later date.
8. Who's your favorite One Piece Character and why?
I’ll hit you with my top 3: The first one and most obvious is Chopper. Drum Island is really the arc that led me to love One Piece. Luffy standing atop the castle holding Dr. Hiriluk’s flag had me so hyped up. It was then I knew that this show was for me. Chopper is a great character with the perfect balance of humor and action. My favorite arc is Ennies Lobby and Chopper popped off there. Really some jaw dropping moments with him.
Next up would be Law. No, not because I’m going into law but the fact that he has the coolest devil fruit, plus his personality makes him an easy fan favorite. A tragic backstory leading to a revenge mission to avenge the one person in the world that cared about him just hits to your soul. Additionally as you’ll see with my next pick he fights my third favorite character is one hell of a battle.
Finally we have the heavenly demon Donquixote Doflamingo. Man what a badass villain. Hell of a backstory to this guy and really fits the role of the Joker. He can turn the world upside down with just a few actions and made one of the worst devil fruits the best. The look is 10/10. His fights are electric. Just everything put together makes him the perfect villain in the series if you ask me. He’s someone you just love to hate. Honorable mentions for Zoro and Laboon.
9. Why is Bamford stinky?
Rumor has it Bamford’s dog has established dominance in his household and pees on Bamfords bed every night to mark his territory.
Big stinky if true. That's all we have this time around! I appreciate the kind words and trust me when I say it's our pleasure to have Chopper on this team. Thank you for your time in answering my questions, and thank you reader for taking the time to entertain us. Ideally these keep improving on my end and can become a more entertaining series! Until next time.
