Quote:3. Let's talk about the future. As we've seen in the ISFL and DSFL, things can go from rock bottom to the absolute top in just one quick season and vice versa. With that said, tell us about your predictions for next season. Were there any big moves made late in the season or the offseason that you believe could really shake things up? Are there any players hitting the season with a noticeably improved TPE pool or hitting regression hard that you believe could seriously factor into a team's potential success? And lastly, which team do you expect to be hoisting the trophy for either the ISFL or DSFL, and which teams do you expect will be struggling to stay away from the bottom on the pack?Predicting the DSFL is always extremely difficult, but seeing as how I'm a GM there and I'm hyped for the season, let's give it a shot! I'll go through the teams, taking note of potential impact players, and then give my standings predictions at the end!
We'll start with the North, and the London Royals. London is coming off of an Ultimini appearance and a loss to Dallas in that game last season.
Capped players: Scudl McDiddl (QB), Lane Wilson (RB), Chopper Donquixote (WR), Maurice Gunner (DT), Mooty Poop-Eater (CB)
Another to watch: Adolin Collins (LB) - the recently drafted linebacker is earning at a great clip and will look to anchor the linebacker corps. London's offense should be prolific, leading opponents to pass more and giving Collins a chance to rush the passer and cause some chaos.
Next up, the Kansas City Coyotes, who finished 7-7 last season.
Capped players: Russell Jimmies (QB), D'Glester Hardunkichud (LB), Eric Beaty jr. (S)
Another to watch: Lheorvine Adebisi (DT) - having a great defensive line can go a long way in pressuring the quarterback and leading to success at the DSFL level, and Adebisi is max earning and looking to cause chaos for opposing offensive linemen.
Third, the Portland Pythons, who finished 3-11 and bottom of the league last season.
Capped players: Billy Van Goff (QB), Jonathan Irons (WR), Tyler Higbee II (TE), Upceti Spaghetti (LB)
Another to watch: Widdle Warrick (CB) - Repgnar's player is the lockdown corner that Portland needs. With the defense lacking TPE, Portland will look for him to help lock down the opposing #1 receiver on a game-by-game basis.
Finally, the Minnesota Grey Ducks, who won the North with a 10-4 record last season.
Capped players: Soul King Brook (RB), Dominic Reynolds (RB), Julian Rose (WR), Dunkler Sowerwine (DT), KrustyKrab Pizza (LB), Bean Beanman III (LB), Dason Dehorn (LB), Lyle Robideaux (LB), PeePee Poop-Eater Jr. (S), Tony Scaletta (S)
Another to watch: Greg Hirsch (QB) - while we usually see rookie QBs struggle a bit out the gate, with this dominant of a supporting cast around him, Hirsch should put up great numbers and could content for seasonal awards.
Now, to the South we go, with Bondi Beach Buccaneers leading off. They finished 6-8 last season.
Capped players: Bugs (QB), Speed Hawk (LB), Walter Yensid (CB), Wynn Jenkins (K/P)
Another to watch: Meo Stickyhands-McGee - The nearly capped 2nd year WR is now the top target for Bugs and has the potential to put up all-league type numbers as the focal point of the passing game.
Next, the reigning Ultimini champion Dallas Birddogs.
Capped players: Huge Yakman (LB)
Another to watch: Dazen Guile (RB) - With the team having been depleted by callups, age-outs, and retirements, they will need their top TPE running back to have a top notch season just to keep them in contention.
To Virginia we go, with the Norfolk Seawolves, coming off of a 5-9 campaign.
Capped players: Elijah Dyson (QB), Worsethan Blaze (FB), South West (CB), Lasse Zeigler (S)
Another to watch: Mac Mannheim (LB) - Last season's Seawolves gave up way too many points and got killed on turnover differential. For them to compete for a playoff spot this season, the first round pick will need to be a difference-maker from the jump, getting to the QB, forcing turnovers, and bringing down opposing running backs.
Lastly, the Tijuana Luchadores, who won the South last season and finished with a 10-4 record.
Capped players: Puddles O'Duck (QB), Brandon Johnson (RB), Andre Benn (WR), Bob Kronkowski (TE), Grzegorz Winnicki (LB)
Another to watch: Sam Coverdale (CB) - with a low TPE secondary at the moment, Coverdale will need to stay true to his name and stick tight to opposing receivers. His success in locking them down will be key to Tijuana continuing to be a top team in the league.
Standings Predictions:
North:
Minnesota
London
Portland
Kansas City
South:
Tijuana
Bondi Beach
Norfolk
Dallas
Ultimini:
Minnesota over Tijuana
