The San Antonio Marshals have had to make the "lamentable" decision to part ways with co-GM Bork Borkington (@bovovovo just 10 games into the inaugural DSFL season. "The San Antonio Marshals had one simple goal: to be the best team and have it not be close. With the Marshals only TIED for first place in the league, we clearly had to make some changes."
Borkington's career as a GM will not end here, though. After careful consideration, it was decided that all the inexperienced GM needed was more time to develop, so he has been sent down to serve as co-GM of the Yellowknife Wraiths. Hopefully, once he has more experience, he'll be ready to to take the reigns of a REAL team again.

Okay, time to not be a dick. Bork worked his ass off as co-GM. If you like our logo, he designed it. If you thought we did well in the draft...he pretty much did ALL the scouting. He also does all the test sims for our upcoming games. I can't even explain just how much he exceeded expectations from when he was hired, but I am amazingly grateful for everything he's done as my co-GM. And honestly, he WAS co-GM. I thought I was hiring an assistant, but he was so good that I had to trust him with more, and a quick look at the DSFL shows that the Marshals only benefited from that. As a Wraith, I am thrilled to have him on board, as he was clearly the better co-GM option than I was. Hell, I wasn't even runner-up.
Not only am I excited as a Wraith, but this is also a big deal for another reason, and it's why I asked @Bzerkap to let me make this announcement. The DSFL has had a ton of growing pains, but the vision of it being a place to develop both new players on the field and new GMs off of it got a huge validation today. Bork has been a respected member of our LR, and we considered him the guy on D line builds for our team, but I really don't think he would have been anywhere near as high on the radar had he not had this experience. Despite his impressive knowledge and work ethic, he was maybe "drowned out" by some of the more "outspoken" teammates, leading to us not fully realizing his value.
In addition, I know for a fact that he learned a LOT setting this team up and coming up with strategies, and he is going to be a MUCH more competent AND confident NSFL GM because of it. In a league where there is significant turnover at GM, this is a huge benefit. As a DSFL GM, nothing makes me prouder than to see one of our own move on to greater things. As his DSFL partner and NSFL teammate, though, this means so much more.
Bork, I was proud to work for you in the DSFL, and I'll be damn proud to play for you in the NSFL.
Bzerkap, thanks for letting me do this.
