Today we're going to take a look at the Prospect Bowl and it's outcomes for all three days. This analysis is going to look at the game time statistics of Willeh Strong (or lack there of) as well as the performance of the prospect teams and players as a whole. This will include looking at the top players of each game alongside my own player a little more in depth. I hope to be able to take this information to find the top prospects of the S48 class due to raw performance and activity.
An important reminder, all players in the prospect bowl are capped to their initial 50 TPE builds which won't show those who are max earners in order to make the bowl more even.
The teams selected for this seasons prospect bowl are the South Beach Sting (SOU) and Carolina Reapers (CAR). In instances where a bot received OPOG/DPOG, I will select the next closest prospect player stat wise.
Game 1: CAR 0 - 31 SOU
The first game of the day was played at South Beach and was a blowout. The reapers could not get the pass game going and were 3/27 in the air with only some run game to show. On the other side of the field, QB J. Qiller, WR O. Walker, and RB A. Blundetto all had amazing games which quickly put their offense on the board. On the defensive end, CAR had M. Mendonca Jr. as their leader with 9 tackles and 1 TFL with G. Princess Donut acquiring a midgame sack. SOU however had 4 different players with sacks as well as a safety scored (I will not be looking at bot statistics in this analysis). With the defense and offense of the Sting both clicking at home, it looked like they would easily win all three games in a dominating fashion. SOU leads the series 1-0.
OPOG: Jamarcus Qiller - QB (SOU): 16/32, 188 yds, 2 TD, 0 Int
DPOG: Lheorvine Adebisi - DT (SOU): 3 Tck, 1 Sck, 1 Sfty
Game 2: SOU 0 - 20 CAR
The second game was played in Carolina and the change of scenery motivated the Reapers to pick it up. A reverse blowout saw CAR up 20-0 at the end of regulation. While it seemed the Sting kept up their offensive play with Qiller throwing 20/34 for 199, the Reaper defense picked it up. This was especially true for B. Patsfield who gathered 10 tackles with 1 for a loss alongside 1 sack. The Reapers paired this with a very run heavy offense as the Sting defense did not see too many passes thrown their way. Hirsch went 5/17 for 72 yards but did most of his damage on the ground with 6 rushing attempts for 105 yards. This was paired with Claflin who had 22 attempts for 126 yards and Guile who had 21 attempts for 79 yards. It's safe to say the RB core on the Reapers with a run option QB found a weak spot on the Sting defense. SOU did have a bright spot on offense however as RB Zigstep had a decent outing with 13 rush attempts for 71 yards with a long of 15. With a flipped score line, it was all in the air of who would win the final game of the day. CAR ties the series 1-1.
OPOG: Greg Hirsch - QB (CAR): 5/17, 72 yds, 0 TD, 1 Int
DPOG: Bradan Patsfield - LB (CAR): 10 Tck, 1 Sck
Game 3: CAR 10 - 19 SOU
All rejoice, a close game! The final game of the day 1 prospect bowl was the best one yet from a spectator's view. With both QBs having a similar performance, it seemed like the Reapers offense was still hot from the previous game and the stats show it. Claflin Jr. went 18 attempts for 142 yards with a long of 43 yards and DeFanco had 3 receptions for 94 yards off 8 targets. This outdid the offense of the Sting put the defense of the Sting was not messing around. The all-star defensive player casually put up 6 tackles and 2 interceptions with one being a pick-6. Sunfish, Murphy, and Mannheim also had good games with 7 tackles as piece with a few being for loss and some sacks thrown into the mix. While CAR had a good offensive showing, they were simply smothered by the SOU defense. The game was finally sealed when the SOU defense got yet another safety to put SOU up 2-1 in their series with CAR.
OPOG: Nathan Claflin Jr. - RB (CAR): 18 att, 142 yds, 0 TD
DPOG: Tyler Oles III - CB (SOU): 6 Tck, 2 Int, 1 Def TD
Game 4: CAR 16 - 12 SOU
Continuing the streak from Game 3 we had another close game. While CAR had the only touchdown, this game was a field goal heavy game. This was a good sign on the defensive side of the ball as many key stops occurred by CAR to win the game. On CAR, Hirsch went 8/20 for 78 yards with 57 yards on the run on 4 attempts. For SOU, Qiller went 17/45 for 251 yards. The only running that really occurred was Guile with 24 attempts for 100 yards with SOU staying mostly silent due to a deadly run defense on CAR. On the defense, Jenkins and Strong both had 7 tackles and a few PDs combined for CAR while Murphy was a standalone for SOU with 14 tackles and 1 PD. Noticeably Da Pinchi had an interception as well. While the DPOG was the bot due to the forced fumble and recovery, I believe it should have been Murphy due to the sheer volume put up (A sidenote, the FF and FR by Bot 10 was stolen from my own Willeh Strong as their dots were at the same place... but I digress). CAR ties the series 2-2.
OPOG: Seer lal - WR (SOU): 4 rec, 102 yds, 0 TD
DPOG: Bot --> Finn Murphy - LB (SOU): 14 Tck, 3 TFL, 1 PD
Game 5: SOU 19 - 22 CAR
Game 5 was another close game that came down to the last few seconds. While some may say "sim gonna sim" or that the refs gave the Reapers a helping hand, I say try harder. On offense, Qiller threw 16/27 for 237 yards and Hirsch threw 11/26 for 94 yards with 32 on the ground. The real offensive animal this game was Sting RB Blundetto who put up 104 yards on the ground with 17 attempts. While the previous game showed the Sting's run game deteriorating before their very eyes, Blundetto single handedly brought it back to life even putting up an impressive run against Willeh Strong. Game 5 was a quiet game for Strong who only say 4 tackles and 1 PD. While this wasn't the best stat line of the day, one thing I noticed was the Sting offense and coaching staff avoided Strong's side of the field after Game 4. Mannheim on SOU put up 9 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 forced fumble to earn DPOG while Patsfield on CAR gathered 10 tackles, 1 TFL, and 1 sack. This was once again another defensively sided game, with Strong and the Reapers holding their own against the previously offensive animals of the Sting. CAR leads the series 3-2.
OPOG: Animal Blundetto - RB (SOU): 17 att, 104 yds, 0 TD
DPOG: Mac Mannheim - LB (SOU): 9 Tck, 1 Sck, 1 FF
Game 6: CAR 14 - 28 SOU
The final game of Day 2 started close but quickly ran away from the Reapers as the Sting's offense finally woke up. Hirsch put up 8/20 for 158 on CAR while Qiller finally started connecting to his receivers going 21/31 for 231 yards. As with the prior games, receiving yards per receiver was quiet as the ball was spread out but the running dominance continued for Blundetto on SOU. Blundetto went 26 attempts for 143 yards to once again earn the offensive player of the game. While the secondary got cooked most of the final game for CAR, the DL and linebackers of the Reapers stayed strong. Primarily that of Mendonca Jr. who put up 12 tackles and Willeh Strong who put up 9 tackles with 1 sack to earn the defensive player of the game (the first of many to come). The defense of the Sting was mostly quiet aside from an interception from Andrews Jr. One standout from this game was Strong gave up his first penalty of the series at the 2 yard line which didn't necessarily impact the game but did give up a yard of field position. With this final game of the day, SOU tie up the series once again 3-3.
OPOG: Animal Blundetto - RB (SOU): 26 att, 143 yds, 0 TD
DPOG: Willeh Strong - LB (CAR): 9 Tck, 1 Sck
Willeh Strong Day 2 Stats: 20 Tackles, 1 TFL, 1 Sack, 3 PD
Game 7: CAR 12 - 20 SOU
A very close game 7 brought South Beach back in to the lead due to a disappointing Carolina offense. On CAR, Hirsch went 12/41 for 152 yards with 38 yards on the ground. Qiller however went 14/29 for 107 yards for SOU. The difference in the two offenses was during the running game. While CAR had Guile running 76 yards in 17 attempts for 0 touchdowns, SOU had Dream and Qiller punch it in in order to take and maintain the lead for the Sting. While the Carolina offense was still quiet, the defense was getting warmed up with Mendonca Jr. taking the lead. Mendonca put up an outstanding 8 tackles, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble and recovery, and 1 PD to keep the Reapers in the game. Murphy on the Tide also had a good game with 7 Tackles and 1 forced fumble. Game 7 had enough fumbles to the point @Civvy created a drinking game. With this close victory, SOU lead the series 4-3.
OPOG: Bot --> A. Dream - RB (SOU): 14 att, 84 yds, 1 TD
DPOG: Mako Mendonca Jr. - LB (CAR): 8 Tck, 1 Sck, 1 FF, 1 FR
Game 8: SOU 9 - 27 CAR
The next game of the day wasn't even close, the Reapers figured out their offensive woes and were able to take an easy win over the Sting. Hirsch on CAR went 8/26 for 103 yards in the air and 32 on the ground while Qiller went 16/38 for 206 yards. Blundetto on the Sting had another strong game going 23 attempts for 113 yards but the Carolina running backs had their best showing of the prospect bowl. Claflin Jr. went 22 attempts for 121 yards and 1 touchdown while Guile went 9 attempts for 102 yards and 1 touchdown. The receivers were fairly quiet on both teams due another strong defensive showing. Mac Mannheim had a good game for the Sting with 9 tackles while Willeh Strong had his best game of the prospect bowl with 12 tackles, 2 TFL, and 1 sack. After an initial close game, the Carolina running backs took over to close out and tie the series 4-4 before the final game of the day.
OPOG: Nathan Claflin Jr. - RB (CAR): 22 att, 121 yds, 1 TD
DPOG: Willeh Strong - LB (CAR): 12 Tck, 1 Sck
Game 9: CAR 30 - 13 SOU
With the series tied, both teams were determined to give it their all to win the prospect bowl for their respective teams. An initial lead by the Tide was quickly brought back level my the Reapers. However an insane 67 yard catch from Warren Peace sealed the game for a Reapers victory. The run game was good for SOU with Dream who had 22 attempts for 102 yards but the strong runs and occasional long passes from Hirsch and Co. led CAR to containing a lead. On the defensive side the Reapers dominated with multiple forced fumbles and recoveries. While the sim had a bot listed as the DPOG due to a garbage time safety, I have Willeh Strong (biased I know) as the earned DPOG due to another 12 tackle performance with 2 TFL and 1 fumble recovery. Winning this game puts CAR up in the series 5-4 and is the overall victory.
OPOG: Greg Hirsch - QB (CAR): 7/23, 184 yds, 2 TD, 1 INT
DPOG: Bot --> Willeh Strong - LB (CAR): 12 Tck, 2 TFL, 1 FR
Notable Mention: Rex Havoc - DE (CAR): 3 Tck, 2 FF, 1 FR
Willeh Strong Day 3 Stats: 28 Tackles, 4 TFL, 2 Sack, 1 PD, 1 FR
Total: 48 Tackles, 5 TFL, 3 Sacks, 4 PD, 1 FR, (3x) DPOG
Offense:
1. Animal Blundetto (RB) - 2x OPOG
Blundetto had a great day 2 in the prospect bowl due to high speed and physicality. With 138 TPE, Blundetto is off to a good start and has a good speedy build to be able to make the most out of their power back role. It was shown that Blundetto even managed to plow through my own Willeh Strong on a couple of runs which was impressive to say the least.
2. Nathan Claflin Jr. (RB) - 2x OPOG
Claflin Jr. had breakout games in days 1 and 3 which led to some amazing runs. A 133 TPE receiving back, Claflin was able to make consistent runs with high averages. While Claflin was limited on the receiving end due to a run happy QB, they still made a decent impact catching the ball as well.
3. Greg Hirsch (QB) - 2x OPOG
The third spot was a hard choice due to a strong defensive play from both teams but I chose Hirsch due to the double OPOG appearance. While Hirsch was not the best at throwing the ball, they made up for it with their legs. I don't know what TPE Hirsch is actually at but they have a high invest in speed which allowed for good runs for the mobile QB.
One thing I noticed with the S48 class is the primary active users in the discord are on the defense with the exception of Twenty6 and Shiv. The defensive evaluation will be primarily based on stats but activity as well.
Defense:
1. Willeh Strong (LB) - 3x DPOG
Just from the stats from the 6 games played, I have Strong as the top defensive prospect. 2-3 DPOG out of 6 games is a good start to a new career. I try to not put myself before the other prospects in the S48 class but from the statistics in the games played, Strong gets to 1.
2. Mako Medonca Jr. (LB) - 1x DPOG
I really like Medonca Jr. and they have dominated in some of the games right beside Strong. A seasoned user in Mooty99 has a versatile LB that has a similar current build to mine with 148 TPE to play with. Medonca was seen to be all over the field with constant sacks and forced fumbles throughout the prospect bowl games.
3. Bradan Patsfield / Mac Mannheim / Sam Coverdale / Robot Sunfish / Rex Havoc
I sat here for a while trying to determine who would earn this final spot and got it down to these 5 (yes 5) players. Each of them is active in the server and had a respectable stat line throughout the prospect bowl games played. 3 linebackers, 1 cornerback, and 1 defensive end are a mix of rookies and veteran players that could very well make an impact in the DSFL this season. It was too hard to choose one so I have all 5 at the third spot on my defensive list.
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
Day 1:
Day one offers new beginnings and new journeys for the S48 prospects. While most players got to experience their dot on the field for the first time, Willeh Strong did not. Was this to give the other players a better chance? We will probably never know but the disappointment was there as Strong had to watch the other prospects from the sideline. While trash talking is fun and part of the game, it's more fun when you are on the field to make an impact. Could Strong have changed the outcome of the 3 games played? That's up for you to decide. I for one plan to make a huge debut for day two of the prospect bowl and control the defensive side of the field. Game 1: CAR 0 - 31 SOU
The first game of the day was played at South Beach and was a blowout. The reapers could not get the pass game going and were 3/27 in the air with only some run game to show. Day 2:
The next day of games began with a bit of a twist. The new roster was announced and yet again Willeh Strong was not listed. Did someone in the front office have something against Strong? Is there a conspiracy happening? Nah, by the good graces of @110radio and @Gadget Strong was placed on the Carolina Reapers. This was exciting as Carolina houses the hometown of Strong and he would finally get his DSFL debut as a prospect with the DSFL draft currently underway.Game 4: CAR 16 - 12 SOU

Day 3:
The final day of games arrived in a very close series of the S48 prospect bowl. While there was a slight delay, everything went as planned and the games were underway. Willeh Strong looked to continue their dominance with his Carolina Reaper defense from the previous day of games which led to more exciting games.Game 7: CAR 12 - 20 SOU

S48 Prospect Rankings:
Now for the fun part, based on the prospect bowl stats, I'm going to attempt to rank the top 3 prospects from the offense and defense. Offense:
1. Animal Blundetto (RB) - 2x OPOG
Blundetto had a great day 2 in the prospect bowl due to high speed and physicality. With 138 TPE, Blundetto is off to a good start and has a good speedy build to be able to make the most out of their power back role.
