A league official (who has requested anonymity for their safety) has brought to the attention of the editors of your trusted news source, The Doghouse, that a recent exposé using our name and branding was posted to official ISFL league channels. We can confirm that this piece was not written by The Doghouse and we have no personal or professional relationship with Tijuana Luchadores LB Rusty “Ferd” Shackleferd (@shackleferd). The Doghouse takes its commitment to league journalism very seriously and we thought it was paramount that we come out to swiftly make clear that this was not our work.
Luchadores GM CROney3 (@CROney3) provided the following comment in defense of Shackleferd: “He asked if there were any good [league-based] news outlets and I gave him the best one I knew.”
While we support and appreciate all new players in the ISFL and encourage participation in our right to free and unhampered journalism, our reputation is our top priority and therefore we must be unwavering in defense of our name and copyright. In this interest, we will not be seeking any punishment for, nor damages from, Mr. Shackleferd.
The same official that alerted us to this unsanctioned article also alleges that Mr. Shackleferd may have been intentionally misled into releasing the offending exposé by representatives of the ISFL Weekly Mirror, possibly in an attempt to obfuscate and besmirch the good name of The Doghouse. We make no such allegations and will be reaching out to the Mirror for clarity on the subject. Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, but it is also the sincerest form of journalistic malpractice.
To Mr. Shackleferd and all others interested in telling their story via The Doghouse, we ask that you reach out through our official channels. To support ISFL journalism, consider applying for contributor positions at the ISFL Weekly Mirror or Daily Prophet, as The Doghouse is not accepting new positions at this time.
As always, look to The Doghouse to stay informed on all aspects of the ISFL.
