(S47) PT #2 - First Quarter Questions

Well its another season and we are one game into in the DSFL. Lyle is looking forward to a slightly new experience. The Grey Ducks are going to try using Lyle up in the DE position this season and see if his pass rushing skills can translate over well. One game down and we held the Coyotes to 6 total points, but there were still some room for improvement. While we mostly held the coyotes off the score board we did still give up a total of 321 total yards against a team that isn't likely to burn down any doors any time soon. We need to work on eliminating the pass game as we did give up 217 yards through the air. Once we get that all locked down, we should be a dominate defense once again, much like last season when we were one of the top ones. We are by far the leaders in TPE on defense and that should translate towards better numbers moving forward.

I am woefully disappointed. I was drafted by Honolulu and promised we'd be winners. I was fed lies. I slurped down an ocean of deception, filling my belly with hopes and dreams of going 16-0. It turns out that my GMs are big ugly liars. They called me up from the DSFL and left my *real* team SCREWED without my beautiful rat behind gracing it's roster. Now my ISFL team is 0-3, my DSFL team is eating crap, and I barely see the field. What gives? When is enough enough? I'm *THIS* close to losing it all and blowing the lid off this whole thing. They made me sign away all my rights on the contract too. I was told there's bonuses based on team performance they'd add to my paycheck for winning - and NOW WE CAN'T WIN A DAMN GAME. I think the biggest challenge is this BUM TEAM. GET ME OFF IT. SEND ME TO ARIZONA SO I CAN WIN A GAME.

It has been a very up and down start to the season for Bondi Beach. We started things off with a statement win against Tijuana only to completely botch things against Kansas City of all teams. Of course, we bounced back strong and humiliated Dallas after that, who had it coming after the heinous crimes they have done. Going forward, we're going to have to put things together on the road and win where it counts. In fact, week 14 at Tijuana could very well determine who wins the top seed in the conference. On a personal level, Seer Ial had just about as good of a debut as a rookie could have, posting 115 yards and a touchdown in his first ever game. Boasting at least 80 yards or a touchdown in every game so far this season, Ial is currently top 5 in receiving yards amongst receivers and top 3 in YPC amongst receivers, which is even more impressive considering he's playing second fiddle to Meo Stickyhands-McGee. With Bugs at the helm, this dynamic duo will be a key factor in Bondi Beach's success this season.

At the time of writing we are 5 games into the S47 regular season and as far as I'm concerned, things are going slightly better for the Berlin Fire Salamanders than anticipated. This is because the team has actually managed to win one of their games, which I didn't anticipate. After entering into a rebuild at the end of last season, the Fire Salamanders are a team that's facing a long and difficult season ahead, but there is nonetheless a mood of optimism among the players on the team about where this path will take them. From an individual perspective, this is Devin Jones' second season in the ISFL and his first playing as a true cornerback. It would be fair to say he's hardly setting the league on fire, contributing minimally through the first 5 games of the season but given the difficulty of the position and the way the team as a whole is playing, I have very low expectations for this season in terms of statistics. I'm treating this as a building block, allowing Devin to gain some experience, grow his TPE and improve his attributes so he can come back next season as a real force. It's not going to be the most exciting year in the league for Devin, but hopefully some valuable lessons that can be learnt to allow him to grow and build on as his career progresses.
