A NEW TYPE OF DRAFT?! LEMON'S ISFL REDRAFT SENDS SHOCKWAVES IN THE SERVERS!!
W: A new form of redraft has been mentioned recently by @lemonoppy that involves a full ISFL redraft for both ISFL and DSFL players. 14 teams have come together over 28 rounds to build what they consider to be an all-time all-star team. From my understanding, this redraft will be graded based on a few things around the league. These include the player roster (i.e. TPE), user roster (activeness in chat), and sim results. GMs are required to set up a depth chart as well as team name and logo and there are already many variations that these GMs are doing for there game plan. While many are trying there best on the player/sim side of the redraft, users such as Griddy have taken a different approach for their "meme team" and have taken some of the more talkative yappers around the league in order to dominate the user roster aspect of the game. I myself, a lowly 206 TPE LB still in the DSFL was drafted in the 8th round at pick 100 while Higbee was taken in the 7th at pick 97. GMs must also take into consideration the cap hit as well as actually filling a competent roster so I'm excited to see where this goes. The users below are those included in this large ISFL full redraft:
.laser
CeeKay
zayn
Tmoney
Walter
Zeagle
Frost
cycro
Croney
Sconnie
CrazyTomato
wizard_literal
Griddy
negs
While this redraft is currently only at round 19, the GMs are speeding through their draft picks and many solid teams are forming. What potentially started as an April fools joke has quickly became very popular among the GMs in the league as well as the players involved. We look forward to seeing what this redraft has to hold and will keep you updated if anything new is announced about it!
H: This has been a very interesting development started by lemon. It is exactly what it sounds like. It is a complete redraft of the ISFL where a season will be simmed and then lemon will judge how this team will be for the future. There has not been much information released which I believe is for the better. It makes the anticipation for the massive media post lemon will make about this that much higher. I, for one, cannot wait until this media gets released and we get to see all of the draft picks and who deserves a future general manager slot. We all know this is basically a gm audition. With this knowledge being known, it seems like Griddy no longer wants to be a general manager based on what I have heard about this draft. As I said before, there has not been much released but pool boy Griddy cannot help himself sometimes. He leaked some info which has led me to believe he is drafting for users instead of trying to win. For example, your very own Whats Yappening writers were drafted in the 7th and 8th round respectively by Griddy. Considering the biggest part of this draft is the win now aspect, it does not make sense to draft 2 low tpe yappers so low. It does great for the user side of the grading but you would assume the grades lean more towards performance. Drafting lower tpe players, especially a tight end (we unfortunately aren’t very good) is not a good pick in the 7th and 8th round for this type of draft. This is about all the information I have seen from the redraft as they have been good at hiding it. I, for one, will be very excited whenever this media gets released.
CONGRATULATIONS MCGRIDDY!! PROPOSAL, POOLSIDE, AND PARADISE! OH MY!!
W: User @McGriddy10 who appears more often in this media series than most others (weird I know) has recently proposed! We at WHAT'S YAPPENING?! would like to extend our congratulations to the bride and groom to be! The server was booming with excitement with the news and many users decided to lend a helping hand as well. Wedding vows were created, advice was given, and many stock photo images of wedding rings were sent. One can only imagine how popular Griddy will be during his big day but we know he will have fun. Will all of us in the ISFL be invited? Probably not but it's a fun thought to think about. With Griddy's extensive resume that many users have been trying to compile recently, one can assume the wedding will be spectacular indeed. Fellow media maker Jreed at the Weekly Mirror has also announced an ISFL wedding registry where users can gift presents to the happy couple but even more importantly, can gift TPE! Users are more than welcome to check it out but make sure to give congrats to Griddy if you have not already. In other related news, images have recently come to our attention of the infamous pool we've heard so much about from Griddy. (See below)
For privacy reasons we have censored out Griddy in the image but we can see a very nice shot of the foretold pool! Very nice indeed I must say. Griddy has announced many a time that there will be pool parties at his place that I would very much like to be invited to one day. I can already see Griddy and his wife to be having many parties at the poolside with their friends so we once again want to congratulate the couple as well as the others around the league that have big events in their lives coming up!
Just so you know, getting married is 21+. I get special privileges though due to my mom.
H: The man of the week, Mr griddle himself. This man has just about everything somebody could ask for and more. He has a job already through the powers of nepotism. He has a fiancé before he can legally gamble. His parents have a massive swimming pool. He has a 34 on the ACT. What more can this man have? Or, a better question, does this man have everything he claims? There is a lot of mystery behind the man named griddle. However, I have had the privilege of seeing some of these statements be at least somewhat truthful. First of all, we have seen his pool so we can confirm that griddy 100% has a pool. However, this pool does seem heavily overvalued and will also soon be in the hands of Kotasa after he wins 3 million dollars on Black 22. Once Griddy loses his pool to the wrath of Kotasa’s elite gambling skills, he will lose part of his identity. He will not be the same Griddy we have seen before. The other thing I have gotten confirmation on is not a complete confirmation. I have gotten confirmation that he has kissed a girl which is solid evidence that he has a fiancee. However, this is NOT confirmation that he has a fiancee. Although it definitely increases the odds since there is photo evidence of him kissing a girl, I am still not fully convinced. I struggle to believe that a 17 year old kid would have already gotten engaged and have a wedding planned on their 18th birthday. It just does not feel real to me. The ACT and job through nepotism have yet to be revealed with any evidence so I cannot comment on these. However, I believe the job through nepotism more than the ACT part personally. Another interesting story actually happened last night where we saw a Griddy impersonator. Griddy was able to stop this madness by sending an aggressive dm, DEMANDING that they stop or else. The “or else” part was ominous enough for this criminal to stop. However, this does put questions on how much power Griddy really has. What was the “or else” referring to? Does he have people in the league just waiting for his command to wreak havoc? A very interesting development that I will try to keep an eye on.
DSFL BETTING LINES ARE BECOMING BIG HITTERS?! WILLEH VS. MANNHEIM? HIGBEE VS. KRONK? YOU DECIDE!!
W: Everyone knows about the sportsbook brought by @jdc4654 and the casino used primarily for the ISFL. However, recent sportsbooks have hit big for the DSFL betting lines. In one of the more recent books, betting lines were made to compare stars from the S47 and S48 class. Higbee II and Kronkowski who are both S47 TEs likely to be brought up to the ISFL next season had a line on who was to have more receptions in Weeks 4 and 5. It's been a while since a Higbee line was put into place but like always, the under always hits. Anyone that placed money on Kronk seeing more receptions between the two weeks saw a large payout which many in the server expressed hitting. This bet put another spark in the fire of an already growing rivalry between the top 2 tight ends in the DSFL and boy was it exciting to watch. An unfortunate showing for the Pythons in week 5 allowed the Higbee under to hit but I can see great things from both players in their rise to the ISFL. Another line that I am slightly more biased towards was the Willeh Strong vs. Mac Mannheim line for who would get more tackles in Weeks 4 and 5. Similar in TPE and standings in the index, Strong and Mannheim are both strong rookie linebacker contenders for DROY with an ongoing rivalry as well that the casino took advantage of in betting. It was a close battle but the Willeh Strong over hit by 2 tackles in the last game of the day. I myself have bet the max of 5M on any line involving my player and it has done wonders for my ISFL bank account. This is the 2nd betting line for Strong and the 1st for Mannheim but users have the potential to make tons of money betting on future DSFL books that include these two. I have made 10M total betting the over on the Strong line so my advice is for other users to do the same! With the casino riding on the DSFL rivalries, we are interested to see what comes from future classes and who will become a large name to make money for others within the sportsbook. Sometimes it's good to play it safe with the sportsbook but I can confirm you are guaranteed money betting the over on Willeh Strong. As always, gamble responsibly!!H: The Kronk v Higbee narrative has not been nearly as competitive as it was last year. Many believe that it is due to Kronk simply being better. Some believe it is due to Tijuana having a much better offense around Kronk including a QB that is much more accurate. I will be diving into all of this, trying to figure out if it is a team situation or if Kronk is simply the superior tight end. First off, let's dive into the individual stats.
Bob Kronkowski - 27 receptions, 550 receiving yards, and 7 receiving touchdowns
This is a very good statline for a tight end and has him in the upper echelon of the entire league receiving wise. This is enough to be the best non wide receiver receiving threat, slightly edging out the likes of Lane Wilson and Tyler Higbee II.
Tyler Higbee II - 23 receptions, 460 receiving yards, and 3 receiving touchdowns
This is also still a great statline for a tight end which also has him in the upper end of the league for receiving stats. However, Kronk is better in every single category. They have very similar attributes so this doesn’t make too much sense. Because of this, we need to dive deeper into the QBs of Tijuana and Portland
Puddles O’Duck - 168 for 241, 2222 passing yards, 69.7 completion percentage, 18 passing touchdowns, and 4 interceptions
Puddles has been the best QB in the DSFL without a doubt. He has the best completion percentage by nearly 10% which is a massive difference. He leads the league in completions and yards. Overall, just a really good QB who Kronk definitely benefits from having. It is still tough to decide how much of a difference this makes but the passes are completed much more consistently and for more yards.
Billy Van Goff - 138 for 244, 1711 passing yards, 56.6 competition percentage, 9 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions
Billy has been a very serviceable QB for Portland. These stats are not even bad for a QB in the DSFL. However, they are just no match for Puddles. The only category Puddles is not better in is the interception category. Even then, Puddles and Billy have the same touchdown to interception ratio with 4.5. This is not even a slight towards Billy, moreso praising Puddles for how elite he truly is.
With all of these stats, it is really up to you to decide who is better. I still lean towards them being very even and Puddles pushing Kronk to have better stats. On the other hand, I can totally understand thinking it is because Kronk is simply better. This will be an interesting rivalry to track throughout the ISFL.
Another great rivalry brewing from the DSFL. These 2 S48 linebackers have been talking smack since they joined and it has developed into a great rivalry to watch. The linebacker position is a much more individual position without many other people to rely on so this will mostly be comparing their individual stats and picking which one I prefer.
Mac Mannheim - 46 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, 5 missed tackles, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, 3 sacks, and 3 pass deflections
Willeh Strong - 53 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, 2 missed tackles, 1 forced fumble, 2 sacks, and 2 pass deflections
With these stats out of the way, it is time for the comparison and some of my thoughts on why I value one of these linebackers over the other. Let's start off with some of the less recognized stats like tackles, tackles for loss, and missed tackles. This one is pretty self explanatory with Willeh having 7 more tackles, 3 more tackles for loss, and 3 less missed tackles. For some of the stats that accumulate normally, Willeh has a clear lead. As a straight up LB, he is the better player and has a higher ability at being able to wrap up the runner. He can get them down in the backfield and rarely lets go. This is exactly what I would personally look for in my linebackers. You still need an enforcer but I prefer the fundamental linebackers who simply get the job done. Now, moving onto the more recognized stats like sacks, fumble forced or recovered, and pass deflections. These stats get recognized much easier because they stand out while watching the games. Sacks get a little period to recognize who gets the sack, fumbles forced or recovered lead to turnovers and pass deflections are easily spotted by watching an incomplete pass occur. With all that being said, Mac Mannheim has 1 more sack, 2 more fumbles forced or recovered, and 1 more pass deflection. It seems like he is the more explosive linebacker who hunts for big plays.
Both of these options are very valuable to the teams they are on and are needed in every team build. Having a fundamental LB and an enforcer is very crucial to a team’s success. However, I always lean to the fundamental side of LBs. Because of that, I side with Portland’s very own Willeh Strong in this instance. This is no slight towards Max Mannheim. I believe he is very good at what he does. I just favor a secure, fundamental linebacker like Willeh.
CONGRATULATIONS TO HOST CITY COMPETITION WINNERS!! YAP ISLAND SNUBBED?!
W: Every season a Host City competition is held for users to submit a design for the location of the upcoming Ultimus and Ultimini. Those wishing to enter must provide a city, why they deserve to host an Ultimus, and be creative in their design for the logo used on the fields. This season the winner of the Host City competition was @lemonoppy with Taipei, Taiwan while the runner up was @IceBear32 with Gotham City (Batman). (Seen Below)H: The host city winners have come in for the S48 Ultimus and Ultimini and, may I just say, I am thoroughly thoroughly disappointed in how the votes have landed. The only justifiable reasoning I can think of for how Yap Island did not at least get 2nd is some people thought that there would be an advantage for some of the yappers of the community. This hypothesis is so extremely wrong and Yap Island was unjustly robbed because of this. I cannot put into words how upset I am that we will not get to see the glorious Yap Island get an Ultimus or Ultimini game. They could have used the boost in tourism to increase their GDP.
Moving on from my rant about Yap Island being robbed, I would like to congratulate Taipei, Taiwan and Lemonoppy along with Gotham City and Icebear. Both are great locations in my opinion. My earlier rant was not so much about the quality of these 2 locations but more about my belief in how good of a location Yap Island was. I much prefer these two than some of the more basic locations like Orlando and Crawfordsville. I believe I had both of these in my top 4 along with Yap Island and Kanto so I cannot be too mad about it. I cannot wait to travel to Taiwan to watch the Ultimus this year and I am hoping to be able to play in Gotham City in the Ultimini. Both great locations that deserved the nod.
HONOLULU'S FIRST ISFL VICTORY!! ICEBEAR SETS SIGHTS PAST THE TANK?!
W: It finally happened. Week 8 in the ISFL saw Icebear's Honolulu Hahalua's first victory in this S47 season. Naturally it happened against YKW who had also previously lost to COL earlier in the season. Excitement spread throughout the league as Hudz finally received his first win as an ISFL GM and there was some entertainment during the "tank" provided to us this season by HON. However, it did not end there. Week 9 saw another iteration of the week 1 tank bowl, this time between COL and HON where HON found yet another victory on their beautiful color rush field! While this is exciting for HON, it brings some questions on if they forgot they were tanking or not. Originally they were in the battle for the 1OA pick in the upcoming ISFL draft but now they are in a race for 2OA and 3OA with their most recent victory. Icebear and the Hahalua got a taste of victory and are not wanting to stop there, draft picks be damned! HON is one of the teams that I have my eye's set on to be drafted by among others so I am happy for them but also wouldn't be opposed to them having an earlier pick. With recent trades made by HON, they seem to be embracing the tank for 1OA once again but it might be too late! With the remaining schedule for COL it seems they have 1OA on lock unless another miracle win comes to them. Going back to that original week 8 win for HON. It truly was an amazing game where even the HON kicker got a reception that shot them forward to be able to actually win. Every win is great for teams but a win on Icebears birthday is even more special! We look forward to watching HON for the remainder of the season and what they manage to pull out of their hat for future matches as well!H: The Honolulu Hahalua have begun their reign of terror. Nobody can stop them after they have won their first game. They are truly an unstoppable force through the power of Lenard McRobinson, Stetson David, Brad Woof, and their defense full of studs like Roquefort Cotswald and Maxwell Jacob Friedman. They have become an elite ISFL team with a clear path to the 1 seed. All it takes is some teams losing out and tying one game while Honolulu wins every game left on the schedule. It really shouldn’t be that hard, especially after how they dismantled the Yellowknife Wraiths.
Update - You might as well already give Honolulu the Ultimus because this team is unstoppable. They are on a 2 game win streak and do not plan on stopping. They just hammered, and I mean HAMMERED the Colorado Yetis to assert dominance for the second week in a row. Honolulu has emerged as one of the best teams in the league and has a clear path to the Ultimus. All it takes is some of these lesser teams (Orange County Otters, Arizona Outlaws, etc.) to continue losing like their poverty teams should. Then the hot Honolulu Hahalua can sweep in and take the trophy while nobody expected it. You DO NOT want this team to get hot.
Update part 2 - The dream is dead. Get the tank out of the garage and resume normal programming. Arizona has paid the refs to stop this madness, as seen by the penalty count being 10 to 0. This was a true example of refball and it was upsetting to watch. Arizona knew they were not good enough to outwit Icebear without some sort of bribery. Icebear is still the best GM in the league and Honolulu will become a powerhouse once they pick up one or two elite season 48 rookies like a Willeh Strong or Zigzag Zipstep to add on to this young and growing team. Honolulu will be back.
COL AND HON BATTLE FOR 1OA?! A POTENTIAL DEAL CUT SHORT!!
W: As mentioned in our previous set of yapping, COL is the current leader for the S48 ISFL Draft 1OA pick with HON right behind them. While HON won the game between the two, COL was the victor of the tank bowl. Do these teams want to win more or would they rather have that elusive 1OA pick? HON GM Icebear can't seem to decide which he wants more for his Hahalua but COL and their GMs seem to know exactly what they want. It came to our attention that prior to the tank bowl battle between COL and HON, there was an offer put into place. HON messaged COL GMs about the winner of the tank bowl game being given the 1OA pick should either of the two teams receive it. However, COL GMs denied the offer sadly which took away a very entertaining trade that could have potentially happened. Instead, HON moved to 2-7 with a 2OA pick while COL moved to 1-8 with the 1OA pick for next seasons draft. Both pairs of GMs have bragging rights for the outcome but its still undecided whether teams are focusing on winning at this point or preparing for the future draft. With HON currently having 3 first round picks for the next draft, I believe that is their true focus. Shortly after the potential COL deal was cut short, HON made an interesting trade with CHI trading wide receiver Speedy Gizmo for a lower TPE WR and yet another draft pick. The tank is being embraced but it may be too late. We will find out as the season progressed but with the all well too known "sim gonna sim" aspect of the ISFL, the 1OA pick really is anyone's to have at this point in the season. HON's remaining schedule seems to be more losses coming but you never really know until we see that final score after the games have completed. The same goes for COL as they have yet another game upcoming with YKW with another upset in the making yet again.H: Everybody boo Colorado with me
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
They ruined one of the best moments in season 47 by declining this simple request by Honolulu. Winner gets the 1st overall pick in the S48 draft. Instead, we got a game that neither team wanted to win. Instead of seeing a battle with every player knowing how much a win could mean to their respective franchise, we saw players taking plays off because they were told to try and lose the game. One of the players in question for throwing this game away is Colorado’s QB, Preston Beatz. Preston decided to take the tank into his own hands by having a negative total rushing yards and also throwing an interception. On this interception play, you could see Preston Beatz stopped moving after he threw the pick instead of pursuing the interceptor, Hearty Harry. This allowed Harry to get into the endzone and extend the lead to 12 going into the 4th quarter. After this, Honolulu was in the driver’s seat and maintained their 12 point lead until the game ended with a Honolulu win in a score of 42-30. Now this could have just been a bad game from Beatz, but it is something that is very odd and deserves closer look. For the integrity of the league, we would not want anybody purposely throwing games to try and secure the 1st overall pick. The only person who cannot be blamed with helping the tank is Colorado’s kicker Pete Moss. Pete did everything in his power to keep Colorado in this game, going 3/3 on extra points, 2/2 on 20 to 29 yard field goals, and even drilling a 57 yard field goal. You cannot ask for anymore in a kicker who was arguably the best player on the field. Everybody else, however, should be looked at further to see if there was a plan to tank.
PLAYERS DENYING DRAFT RIGHTS TO CERTAIN TEAMS?! WHAT IS THE FUTURE OF ISFL DRAFTS??
W: Prior to the DSFL gameday on 4/11, the ISFL chat started booming with conversation after a point made by lemonoppy regarding ARI players saying they would play on other teams if given the chance but it creates an even bigger question. Are players sticking with certain teams or open to moving to other teams in future drafts? This even brought attention from ISFL Commissioner DarknessRising who brought up the point of "built not brought" when mentioning super teams in the past. Many other users brought up their opinion of the subject including myself. While I am new here I am open to joining any team that drafts me. Of course there are teams I would prefer to go to due to other users that I have already spent time talking with but realistically, it should be like the NFL draft where players go where they are drafted. Players only wanting to go to certain teams takes an aspect out of the league in my opinion but that's besides the point. There have even been occasions that were mentioned where users would withhold TPE if they did not go to a specific team. This takes a lot of wind out of the sails of teams during draft time so something might need to be done about this potentially. With this conversation originating with ARI, it applies to many teams and the vast amount of players within them. Mind you, this topic is to be taken lightly and I'm not saying anything must happen but it's definitely something to take a look at in the future. In my own rookie opinion, teams should get the choice of the player, not the player getting the choice of the team as many teams are already restricted in terms of draft picks due to GM picks in certain seasons. It's understandable that many users prefer certain teams due to users that are on those teams but there is a lot more that we could be missing by not joining other locker rooms and interacting with hundreds of other users in the league outside of the general chat. I went on a bit of a rant on that one but I do think its an interesting conversation to have and would like to hear other user's opinions on the matter as well.
I among others really enjoy this league and would like to see it to it's full potential by potentially joining new teams on each recreate I do when I get to that point. But again, I will go where I am drafted and will enjoy it regardless of the team. What does this mean for the future of ISFL drafts? We will find out as time goes on.
H: This is one topic that just infuriates me everytime I read it. Prospects should not be able to force themselves onto certain teams. Plain and simple. I do not care if your last player had history with a team. This is a new player. Past player history does not affect this player. Just because you want to go back to Arizona does not mean a good prospect should be able to fall to 2.14 so Arizona can pick you again. Experiment a little bit. It is way more fun to experience all the different locker rooms and different users compared to just forming a pact with a specific group of users and just going to the same team over and over again. That ruins the point of the league in my opinion. It also easily allows ISFL teams to abuse this knowledge. For example, if you are a first round user but only want to go to Arizona, they can wait until their last possible pick to take you because they know you either won’t get taken by anybody else or will just demand a trade to Arizona if you do. It simply does not make sense for the league and I am not a fan of it at all. The only thing that makes sense in regards to forcing yourself onto a team is the GM picks. It obviously would make zero sense for your player to be on a different team than your general manager. This is handled well by HO and I think a 2nd round pick is the best place for these picks to happen. I think the only way to stop players from demanding their way onto certain teams is for ISFL gms to just agree to ignore this. If all 14 teams agree that these demands will not be met and players cannot just force themselves onto certain teams, it will hopefully remove this aspect of the ISFL completely. This is my pet peeve about the ISFL to be honest. Players simply should not be allowed to deny teams the right to draft them. If Colorado gets the first pick but Willeh does not want to go anywhere near Colorado, for example, he should have no power to tell Colorado to not draft him or he will demand a trade. This is basically a player's way of tampering if you think about it. If GMs can’t demand things from players, why should players be able to demand things from GMs. The answer is that they should not, which is why I hope this ends up getting removed.
DOES THE WEAKLY MIRROR NOT TELL THE TRUTH?! INSIDER INFORMATION EXPOSES MEDIA OUTLET!!
W: It has come to our attention that our fellow media outlet "The Weakly Mirror" may not "tell nothing but the truth" like they claim to do. In the recent addition of the Weakly Mirror, @jreed12 sent supposed images regarding the ISFL bank account of Mcgriddy. Specifically stating how Griddy had negative 1 morbillion ISFL dollars. Now I'm not saying this is impossible with horrible money managing (it is), but it is extremely unlikely and we believe Jreed has exaggerated these numbers immensely. A conversation in general chat between Higbee and Griddy confirmed the fact that this was not the case and that the Weakly Mirror lied to their readers. Crazy, I know.We like to keep truthful, even though we give our opinions at WHAT'S YAPPENING?! we still are expected to provide a modicum of truth in our statements. This news from Jreed and those at the Weakly Mirror is highly unsettling and shows we may not be able to trust their articles. Lying to your faithful readers is not good business. Is becoming a winner of a Gemini getting to their heads? What can we trust from previous articles? I don't know anymore and many may feel the same way. After doing my own research, we have found that Griddy actually has $8,314,240 at the time of writing this. This deception by the Weakly Mirror won't go undetected any longer and we plan to keep an eye out for any more mischievous actions and stories that may come.
While the Weakly Mirror doesn't share their sources (or doesn't get a response most of the time), we have proof of our source, Griddy himself! Higbee went into detective mode for this piece and got our information with a screenshot to boot. While Griddy wasn't forthcoming at first, he did mention how he did not in fact have negative 1 morbillion ISFL dollars. Once again, we will keep an eye out for future posts and try to keep our media brethren in check!
H: As we covered already, Griddy has been the main focal point for yapping this past week. This leaked into the media as well. The Weekly Mirror released their 12th edition on the night of April 11th. One of the biggest topics in this was how broke Griddy has become. It was shown that Griddy somehow had racked up a debt of 1 Morbillion ISFL dollars. Whether this was because of his tragic betting attempts, too much money spent on a pool, or the cost of the ring for his fiance was too much remains unknown but this brought the Weekly Mirror some questioning from Griddy in the ISFL server. Griddy claimed that the facts used to create this article were factually inaccurate and threatened to sue because of this. As a journalist myself who understands how journalism works, this is NOT the Weekly Mirror’s fault. Even if the information was inaccurate, which is yet to be proven, this is the source's fault, not the Weekly Mirror’s fault. The number one rule in journalism is to always trust your sources. If your sources are inaccurate, as griddy claims they are, this is not the journalist’s fault. The journalist just gets the information and writes an article about it. It is up to the source to ensure this info is accurate. The identity of who provided Jreed with this information remains unknown, but they are to blame for the false information in the 12th edition of the Weekly Mirror, not the journalist Jreed. As much as I have butted heads with Jreed, I know his true intent is to create journalism for this league. He has no intentions of ruining somebody’s public image by creating an article, he only wishes to spread the truth and give the people of the league a viewpoint on some pressing issues. And I must say, he does a great job at it. The Weekly Mirror has been a beloved media for a long time and hopes this one slip up does not ruin their reputation.
ISFL AND DSFL SEASONAL UPDATE SEGMENT
ISFL: Week 6COL 13 - 27 BER
NYS 26 - 27 ARI
HON 20 - 37 AUS
NOLA 21 - 32 OCO
YKW 8 - 26 CTC
CHI 13 - 16 BAL
SJS 44 - 20 SAR
The first game of the week had COL at BER where the tanking Yetis continued tanking while BER finds another solid win. BER RB Willie Swaggert balled out for our fantasy enjoyers with 13 attempts for 75 yards and 1 TD alongside 6 receptions for 104 yards and another TD. Meanwhile COL LB Waylen Greene gathered 10 tackles, 2 sacks, with a forced fumble and recovery as the run and passing game of BER dominated. NYS at ARI was a scare as ARI narrowly clutched a win. QB Donovan Winters III went 24/32 for 249 yards and 2 TDs while NYS LB Dub Redd had a great game with 15 tackles and a sack. HON at AUS looked like a comeback story but pittered out in the end. AUS QB Jay Cue III went 20/31 and 318 yards for 4 TDs while AUS LB Crasher Wake makes another appearance with 8 tackles and a forced fumble and recovery. NOLA at OCO saw another great game from OCO kicker King Leonidas I going 6/6 on FGs to beat NOLA at home while NOLA LB Josh Gibson gathered 11 tackles with 1 sack and a forced fumble. CTC smacked the wraiths with another amazing showing from RB Nakiri Ayame who had 20 attempts for 105 yards, 1 TD and 5 receptions for 68 yards and 1 TD. On the defense, CTC LB Rolud Onyxgut had 8 tackles, 2 sacks and a forced fumble to hold the Wraiths to just 8 points. CHI at BAL was another close game where Nah'sim of CHI had 8 receptions for 109 yards and no TDs while BAL LB Americano had 8 tackles, a sack, a safety, and a forced fumble. The final game had SJS at SAR where SJS took the wind out of Sarasota's sails. SJS QB Patterson went 30/39 for 359 yards, 5 TDs, and an INT while SJS LB Cruella de Ville gathered 11 tackles, 2 sacks, and a forced fumble and recovery.
Offensive Player of the Week:
I have SJS QB Patterson as the OPoW with 359 yards through the air for 5 TDs. An amazing offensive performance from SJS gives Patterson an amazing performance for the week.
Defensive Player of the Week:
I have SJS LB Cruella de Ville as the DPoW with 11 tackles, 2 sacks, and a forced fumble and recovery to boot. Close with COL LB Greene but the extra tackle buts de Ville over the edge.
ISFL: Week 7
CTC 13 - 20 SAR
CHI 38 - 18 COL
NYS 19 - 35 BAL
NOLA 31 - 21 AUS
BER 39 - 42 YKW
OCO 7 - 33 SJS
ARI 38 - 26 HON
There weren't any super exciting games in Week 7 aside from the shootout between BER and YKW and SAR upsetting a CTC that was recently dominating. For the most part the games this week were expected leading to a less than ideal analysis of the week.
Offensive Player of the Week:
I have NOLA QB Octavion Speedings as the OPoW going 20/28 for 353 yards and 4 TDs to push their way past the Copperheads.
Defensive Player of the Week:
Again I have SJS LB Cruella de Ville as the DPoW who had 4 tackles, 2 sacks, a safety, and a forced fumble. The SJS defense seemingly neutralized the entire OCO offense so this pick just makes sense to me.
ISFL: Week 8 (Color Rush)
BAL 33 - 15 AUS
SAR 10 - 34 ARI
YKW 25 - 33 HON
CHI 27 - 12 OCO
COL 16 - 24 SJS
CTC 21 - 25 NYS
BER 16 - 19 NOLA
In a week with beautiful color rush fields (not Arizona's), we had a few exciting games. HON gets their first win as mentioned before against YKW with their offense seemingly dominating YKW while at home. CHI gets a slight upset against OCO and the Crash seem to have crashed into a wall as they lost narrowly to the Silverbacks. The rest of the games were expected but a few standout players stood above the rest for Week 8 on these very colorful fields.
Offensive Player of the Week:
I have ARI RB Bertie Mannering-Phipps as the OPoW this week who had 16 rushing attempts for 99 yards and 2 TDs with 1 reception for 7 yards and a receiving TD. BMP and the ARI offense went off at home against the Sailfish and it was great to see.
Defensive Player of the Week:
The defense was quiet for most teams but I have BER DE Clint Mustache as the DPoW who gathered 3 tackles, 2 sacks, and a forced fumble and recovery. While BER didn't get a win, their defense showed good things against the NOLA offense.
ISFL: Week 9
COL 30 - 42 HON
NYS 16 - 34 NOLA
YKW 24 - 31 CHI
CTC 28 - 17 BER
SAR 3 - 34 BAL
AUS 0 - 33 SJS
OCO 24 - 27 ARI
Week 9 had YET ANOTHER HON win as well as a shutout by SJS to give AUS a run for their money. Some close games between ARI and OCO also made for an exciting week in the ISFL. The HON offense looks to be good for the time being as well as the CHI offense who brought it to the Wraiths who have not been having a good last couple of weeks. BAL continued their dominance to top the charts of teams and surely look like the team to beat. In a week where a lot of kickers had good weeks, the scores aren't very surprising giving the lack of offense present.
Offensive Player of the Week:
I have CHI QB Painted Penguin as the OPoW who went 28/49 for 320 yards and 4 TDs with 2 INTs. This performance helped the Butchers have a sharp edge over the Wraiths who just haven't figured out what's going on with their team yet.
Defensive Player of the Week:
I'm giving HON CB Hearty Harry, a rookie in the ISFL, the DPoW for Week 9 as they got 10 tackles and an interception that led to a pick six which helped HON pick up a win against their tanking brethren in the Yeti.
ISFL: Week 10
SJS 29 - 24 OCO
BER 27 - 21 COL
SAR 17 - 24 NOLA
CHI 14 - 34 CTC
BAL 24 - 30 YKW
HON 10 - 40 ARI
AUS 23 - 38 NYS
A bunch of upsets occurred in week 10. SJS took on OCO at home and came out standing. BER and COL had a slight continuation of the tank bowl where BER won and YKW finally figured it out, beating a strong BAL at home. The run for HON finally ends against an ARI that had a lot to prove and clearly took it out on the tanking team to put them back into tank mode once again. Week 10 had a few exciting games and I look forward to the future games next week!
Offensive Player of the Week:
When the YKW QB Maximus Boudreaux is on, I see no slowing down the Wraiths. Boudreaux went 41/47 for 320 yards and 4 TDs to put a whooping on the current Ultimus favorite and I love it.
Defensive Player of the Week:
I'm giving the DPoW for Week 10 to CTC CB Legs McMillion who had 5 tackles and an interception that led to a pick six. The CTC defense showed up at home against the Butchers and performances like this can make or break teams in most cases.
DSFL: Week 2
LON 21 - 9 DAL
MIN 0 - 34 TIJ
POR 34 - 24 NOR
BBB 14 - 37 KCC
After a great set of games from Week 1 of the DSFL, Week 2 had some interesting outcomes as well. London continues their dominance with a crushing victory over Dallas. An amazing performance from Chopper Donquixote on the offense and Adollin Collins on the defense helped get this score line and go 2-0 for LON. An unexpected game of the week showed Tijuana holding Minnesota scoreless while taking 34 points for themselves. While this is not technically an upset, it was for sure unexpected as the TIJ defense has the lowest TPE in the DSFL. An outstanding game by TIJ RB Brandon Johnson with 2 TDs helped run the score up while MIN LB KrustyKrab Pizza put up 13 tackles with 2 sacks as the TIJ run game continued to batter MIN. Portland saw their first win of the season in a high scoring match against Norfolk. POR QB Billy Van Goff went 23/37 for 311 yards and 2 TDs while NOR CB South West had 10 tackles alongside a forced fumble and recovery. Both the run game and passing game for POR opened up to allow them their victory. The final game of the week had BBB at KCC where Kansas City had an unexpected victory over Bondi Beach. A dominant game on offense and defense showed BBB the door where KCC QB Russell Jimmies went 13/22 for 134 yards and 3 TDs while DE Tim Deus had 1 tackles, 1 sack, alongside a forced fumble and recovery. Teams with both offensive and defensive players of the games were clear victors of their matches as seen in many of the ISFL matches as well.
Offensive Player of the Week:
I have Tijuana RB Brandon Johnson as the DSFL offensive player of the week with 28 attempts for 143 yards and 2 TDs. While Puddles O'Duck and the passing game was great from the Luchadores, Johnson got increased running attempts due to the sheer lead they had on the Grey Ducks.
Defensive Player of the Week:
In the same game, I have MIN LB KrustyKrab Pizza as the DSFL defensive player of the week with 13 tackles and 2 sacks. An increased usage due to the TIJ run game allowed Pizza to get plenty of tackles but the 2 sacks helped his case.
DSFL: Week 3
KCC 13 - 30 LON
MIN 38 - 6 POR
NOR 27 - 40 TIJ
DAL 7 - 37 BBB
To start Week 3 we had KCC at LON where LON continued their dominance. LON QB Scudl McDiddle went 21/34 for 296 yards and 3 TDs to empower the pass while rookie LON LB Finn Murphy had 7 tackles, 1 sack and a forced fumble and recovery. The LON defense was smothering for KCC while their offense just continues to keep rolling. MIN felt that they had something to prove after Week 2 and unfortunately they took it out on my Portland Pythons. MIN QB Greg Hirsch went 8/20 for 134 yards and 1 TD while POR QB Van Goff went 36/57 for 353 yards but 0 TDs. On the defense, MIN LB KrustyKrab Pizza shows up again with 6 tackles, 2 sacks, and a forced fumble and recovery. The third game this week had NOR at TIJ where Tijuana did not stop rolling with their offense. With the score run up TIJ RB Brandon Johnson had 37 rushing attempts for 190 yards and 1 TD while QB Puddles O'Duck went 22/36 for 315 yards and 3 TDs. Meanwhile TIJ rookie LB Mako Medonca Jr. had 6 tackles, 2 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles while NOR rookie LB Robot Sunfish had 13 tackles on the other side of the field. The final game had DAL at BBB where Dallas continues their downfall after winning last season's Ultimini. BBB QB Bugs went 14/24 for 292 yards and 3 TDs with 1 INT while BBB LB Speed Hawk had his best showing with 16 tackles and 1 sack to put up an amazing stat line.
Offensive Player of the Week:
I have TIJ QB Puddle's O'Duck as this weeks offensive player of the week with 22/36 for 315 yards and 3 TDs. Puddles put the team on his back to allow the run game to open up for Brandon Johnson and another TIJ victory.
Defensive Player of the Week:
For defense I have BBB LB Speed Hawk with 16 tackles and a sack for the sheer volume he received and locked down against DAL's run game.
DSFL: Week 4 (Color Rush)
NOR 16 - 26 KCC
DAL 13 - 29 MIN
BBB 31 - 17 LON
TIJ 23 - 17 POR
Week 4 brought the first DSFL color rush of the season and many of the teams had amazing fields to show off. At KCC, NOR took another loss with NOR QB Elijah Dyson going 16/41 for 153 yards, 0 TDs, and 3 INTs. Neither offense really got going aside from a scrambling TD from Dyson. On defense, KCC rookie CB Adam Journey had a day with 3 tackles, a forced fumble and a pick six! MIN keeps winning while DAL keeps losing in Week 4 with MIN rookie kicker Cameron Oswald-Newton going 5/5 on FGs while MIN LB Bull Dozier had his best game to date with 14 tackles, 2 sacks, along with a scoop and score. BBB beat LON away to continue their streak with BBB QB Bugs going 9/20 for 186 yards and 1 TD alongside 2 rushing TDs. On the defense, BBB rookie LB Reuben Mobbs gathered 5 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 interception as well. The final game had TIJ at POR and the stars did not align for POR today. Yet again, TIJ RB Brandon Johnson carried the show with 30 rushing attempts for 101 yards and a TD while Puddles went 23/34 for 276 yards and 2 TDs. On the defense TIJ rookie CB Sam Coverdale makes his first appearance with 6 tackles and 2 forced fumbles while POR rookie LB Willeh Strong gathered 10 tackles and 2 TFL in the game.
Offensive Player of the Week:
Again we have TIJ RB Brandon Johnson as the best offensive player this week racking up 30 attempts for 101 yards and a TD showing everyone that the TIJ offense isn't slowing down.
Defensive Player of the Week:
I have MIN LB Bull Dozier as the best defensive player this week for his amazing stat line. Dozier racked up 14 tackles, 2 sacks, as well as a forced fumble and recovery that led to a scoop and score defensive TD. This is up there for defensive games of the year for sure in the DSFL.
DSFL: Week 5
KCC 24 - 37 DAL
LON 34 - 40 TIJ
MIN 27 - 13 NOR
POR 13 - 19 BBB
DAL finally won! It was against KCC but hey a win is a win. DAL rookie RB Dazen Guile makes his debut here with 23 attempts for 129 yards and 2 TDs while DAL LB Toller Retriever achieved 3 tackles and a pick six on defense to harrow out a win against the Coyotes. At TIJ, Puddles had a great game going 20/29 for 376 yards and 3 TDs with 1 INT, finally outdoing RB Brandon Johnson. LON defense had a decent game but couldn't hold TIJ at the end in this shootout with LON rookie LB Finn Murphy getting 10 tackles and 2 sacks. MIN defeated NOR away with MIN rookie QB Greg Hirsch going 27/36 for 321 yards and 2 TDs while MIN LB KrustyKrab Pizza returns with 8 tackles and 1 sack for Week 5. The final game had POR at BBB where BBB narrowly won from field goals. BBB Kicker Wyn Jenkins went 4/4 on FGs while POR rookie CB Widdle Warrick got 3 tackles and a pick six as well to keep POR in the game but it just wasn't enough in this low scoring game.
Offensive Player of the Week:
I have DAL RB Dazen Guile here this week with 23 rushing attempts for 129 yards and 2 TDs. Guile was crucial for the DAL win and has done well all season.
Defensive Player of the Week:
This week I'm changing it up a bit. I'm splitting the DPoW between DAL LB Toller Retriever and POR CB Widdle Warrick who both got 3 tackles and a pick six. Great stat lines helped DAL win this week and get POR close in their game to avoid a blowout.
DSFL: Week 6
TIJ 34 - 21 DAL
NOR 27 - 14 BBB
KCC 10 - 17 POR
LON 21 - 34 MIN
After the previous weeks victory, DAL returns to what they know and lost at home to TIJ. Yet again, Brandon Johnson put up numbers with 31 attempts for 131 yards and a TD with Puddles next to him going 15/21 for 249 yards and 3 TDs. On the defense, TIJ LB Grzegorz Winnicki gathered 15 tackles to stop the DAL run game. NOR at BBB showed NOR a rare win as QB Elijah Dyson went 13/25 for 212 yards and 2 TDs while NOR rookie LB Robot Sunfish got 8 tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble to sweep the Buccaneers. At POR, a low scoring game saw POR sneak out a win against KCC with KCC QB Russell Jimmies going 28/41 for 197 yards and 0 TDs with 1 INT while POR split the board between their RBs. POR LB Upceti Spaghetti gathered 9 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 fumble recovery to lead the defense. The final game had LON at MIN where the losing continues for LON after their great start. MIN RB Dominic Reynolds had 11 attempts for 104 yards and a TD with 5 receptions for 69 yards while LON rookie LB Finn Murphy appears again with 11 tackles and a sack. While McDiddle did good through the air with 3 TDs, the run game set MIN apart from LON this game.
Offensive Player of the Week:
I have MIN RB Dominic Reynolds with 11 attempts for 104 yards and a TD alongside 5 receptions for 69 yards this week. Almost averaging 10 yards a run and getting a good chunk of receptions allowed MIN to beat LON and continue their hot streak.
Defensive Player of the Week:
On the defense I have POR LB Upceti Spaghetti with 9 tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble. This week was harder to choose as there wasn't another defensive TD but the sack and forced fumble put Spaghetti slightly ahead of the other all-star defensive players this week.
DSFL: Week 7
BBB 17 - 29 MIN
NOR 20 - 37 LON
DAL 14 - 38 POR
TIJ 28 - 33 KCC
The ball keeps rolling for MIN as they get a decisive victory over BBB with MIN WR Julian Rose getting 5 receptions for 116 yards and 1 TD alongside both MIN RBs getting a TD as well. MIN LB KrustyKrab Pizza returns again with 5 tackles and 2 sacks this week. Across the pond, NOR lost to LON away with amazing games on both sides of the field. NOR QB Elijah Dyson went 29/47 for 427 yards and 3 TDs with 2 INTs while LON rookie LB Finn Murphy appears again with 16 tackles and 1 forced fumble to etch his name up there with the greats. DAL is back in there place again as POR stomps them with 21 points in the first quarter alone. POR WR Jonathan Irons got 4 receptions for 139 yards and 2 TDs with Van Goff throwing 15/18 for 268 yards and 4 TDs total. DAL LB Huge Yakman gathered 11 tackles and 1 sack over the course of the game while Toller Retriever got 11 tackles as well. The final game of Week 7 that we will cover was TIJ against KCC where a major upset occurred. KCC QB Russell Jimmies gave TIJ the Jimmies alright going 22/40 for 274 yards, 2 TDs, and 1 INT. While Puddles and Brandon Johnson did well, they simply couldn't keep up with the KCC defense who allowed KCC to go 21-0 in the first quarter as well. Shah Evil on KCC had 5 tackles as well as 2 forced fumbles and recoveries but as they are a GM bot I'm giving this game to Keller who had 9 tackles and a forced fumble and recovery. Fumble issues seem to be troubling the TIJ offense so we shall see how the next set of games unfold.
Offensive Player of the Week:
I have NOR QB Elijah Dyson this week who threw 29/47 for 427 yards and 3 TDs with 2 INTs. Despite the loss, Dyson showed he can keep up with the top teams in the league which bodes well for NOR for the remainder of the season.
Defensive Player of the Week:
A dominant performance puts LON rookie LB Finn Murphy as this weeks best defensive player with 16 tackles and a forced fumble. LON has shown a defensive dominance early in the season and it seems it might be coming back into form now as well.
And of course, Happy Birthday @IceBear32!!
