[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Welcome back to the 2nd part of our regular season cornerbacks analysis series. We move onto week 2 where there were certainly some interesting matchups.
WEEK 2 (11/8)
@

@
@
John Canton will hope to bounce back from a poor showing in week 1 alongside Benson Bayley when they will have a tough time tracking Trey Willie and Stromblessed. On the flip side of the equation the Hawks duo of Turner and Delacour will be hoping for an off day from highlight reel receiver Mayran Jackson and speedster Shane Weston and don't you forget about the ever present threat of Darren Smallwood.
Phillipe Carter and Timote Shoate line up against the weak wide receiver corps of the Colorado Yeti which consists of the once highly touted Kendrick Hendrix, the aging Damian West and rookie Young. Alex Hayden will hope to keep up his impressive form so far this year alongside partner in crime Brice Boggs at CB. Leclair and Ross will both be eyeing up an impressive matchup and a possibility of a blow out win here.
The Wraiths DB's of Lavelle and Floggity grossly underperformed last week, letting up >150+ yards in the opening week, they hope that Westifield and Phelps somehow don't perform on the day. On the other hand Marc Spector and Dominic Verns will no doubt be licking their lips at the matchup from Bailey Cook and Gosh Jarden (formerly Ethan Hunt) as the Wraiths continue their supposed "rebuild" season.
Finally Franklin Harris Jr. who had a horrendous 1st week , allowing 161 yards and 1 touchdown from 8 catches will hope he can mimic last years form which won him the defensive rookie of the year award. Samuel Zhang will hope that he can also perform well in the matchup against the elite Fox North and the ever-developing Budda Browning. On the other side of the Liberty Bell, Oles only allowed 25 yards last game and Cushing allowed 64. A 100< yard game is good no matter what team you play for but will they be able to stop the leagues top wide receiver in Josh Garden whilst also preventing C.A. Chess or Dustin Evans from taking off?
NSFL WEEK 2 YARDS ALLOWED
Alex Hayden went OFF this week! Only allowing 1 catch for 7 yards in their skirmish with the Legion. Sure you could argue that the Legion had such a solid and consistent run game that they didn't need to pass it. But who cares? He only allowed 7 yards!
Lavelle finally got some of his wits together and managed to keep his receiver Westfield to 25 yards and 3 catches. A farcry from his performance last week.
Shoate had an impressive showing for the Legion this week only letting up 3 catches for 27 yards when facing the run heavy Yeti.
Zhang bounced back with a great game after shadowing Budda Browning for most of the game he only allowed 29 yards from a possible 5 catches.
Boggs had a decent week only allowing 40 yards from 2 catches and letting up a touchdown. All of this while playing as the Yeti #1 WR for the duration of the game.
Verns spent his time marking Gosh Jarden and as a result allowed 51 yards from 2 catches and 1 touchdown. He got burnt big and as a result Jarden had a nice game for the Wraiths.
Oles allowed 66 yards from 5 catches but also let in 2 touchdown passes into the endzone. Oles spent most of the game on Dustin Evans and was caught out of position a number of times, not his best week but certainly it's not hopeless.
Turner had an off week, allowing 67 yards, 5 catches and 2 touchdowns. Who was he in man to man coverage with? None other than the elite Mayran Jackson, You can't blame a man for having an off day against such a force in the NSFL.
Kevin Cushing had the task of going up against the best wide receiver in the league in Josh Garden. While it wasn't pretty, it could've been alot worse. He allowed 73 yards and 5 catches with no touchdowns on the stat sheet. Cushing alike any cornerback will always have a tough time and to only allow 73 yards against who many claim to be a future hall of famer is an achievement.
Carter allowed only 52 yards last week, this week? He let up 100 yards from 4 catches, he got burnt and caught out of positions more times than the HO get's criticized. Not a good day for a supposedly " big" free agent pickup.
Harris continued his shockingly awful form to the season, he was in charge of following Silver Fox for the game and he did just that. The only problem was that he was literally always following him instead of staying with him, as a result 103 yards from 7 catches got racked up on him. This poor fella is struggling.
Bayley had an average showing last week but it all got worse this week. He allowed 108 yards from 4 catches and just looked distraught out there against Stormblessed.
Delacour went from bad to worse this week, allowing 120 yards and 8 catches. There's something off with his form and the Hawks will hope he sorts it out sooner rather than later.
Canton proved he can't really do anything right. 142 yards allowed from 4 catches proved this man had to be constantly assisted by EMT's during the game for third degree burns. He let up some big big plays and his team was hurt by them.
Floggity's keto diet that allowed him to lose over 100lbs in the 2 week offseason of the NSFL was vocally criticized by many and it's not paid dividends so far. He let up 146 yards from 6 catches and generally just looked out of place.
Finally Spector let up 146 yards and 7 catches to none other than top WR Bailey Cook. Being honest it could've been alot worse for Spector and hopefully this experience allows him to improve his work ethic.
NSFL YARDS ALLOWED SEASON TOTAL
At #1 Alex Hayden of the Colorado Yeti sits atop the rankings with only 52 yards and 5 catches allowed. A solid showing by a man many would've not expected to be in the discussion and as a result has rose up 3 spots.
Turner drops down to the #2 spot with 87 yards allowed from 8 catches and 2 touchdowns. A little decline in form but we've got no doubt he'll stay in the top 5.
Oles drops down another spot to #3 , he's let up 91 yards from 7 catches with 2 touchdowns. The Liberty man will no doubt be happy of his early season performances.
#4 is Timote Shoate who has shot up 4 places since week 1. He's allowed a total of 94 yards and 2 touchdowns from 9 catches. A solid performer this early in the season.
Brice Boggs is the only player not to move position in this weeks list, he stays at #5 with 95 yards allowed and 2 touchdowns from 7 catches.
#6 is the Season 2 #1 overall pick who has allowed 98 yards and 9 catches. He also has not allowed a single touchdown this year so far.
#7 is the young Samuel Zhang who flew up a monster 5 places this week. He's allowed a total of 122 yards from 11 catches.
Cushing dropped down 1 place to #8 this week with a total of 137 yards allowed from 9 catches. Solid stats from a man learning to adapt to the CB position.
#9 is the big free agent who signed with the Legion, it's Phillipe Carter. He's not had a great year and as a result has let up 152 yards from 10 catches, he will need to improve for the Legions sake.
#10 is Dominic Verns of Orange County who to this point has a let up 162 yards, 8 catches and 2 touchdowns. Despite moving up 4 places, he's still got alot of work to do.
#11 is the San Jose #2 CB, Benson Bayley. 169 yards from 8 catches isn't exactly numbers you want from a solid cornerback, he's young though and will only continue to improve in the future.
#12 Delacour hasn't had a good year and it's got worse. He's dropped a further 2 places to #12 and has let up 196 yards and 14 catches. While he hasn't leaked any TD's, he's been absolutely tragic thus far but he's had two relatively tough game this early in the season.
#13 is the OL converted to CB, Jogn Floggity. Floggity's been awful this season, he's allowed 235 yards, 12 catches and 1 touchdown. He's leaked big plays all year and we're only in week 2!
#14 is Marc Spector who has been inconsistent this season. He's allowed 251 yards, the 3rd most in the NSFL and 12 catches. He can improve, he will improve so look out for him later in the season.
#15 is the young Franklin Harris Jr. He's been horrible this season allowing 264 yards, 15 catches and 1 touchdown. He's a liability out there, whether the Outlaws want to admit it or not.
Finally we hit #16, John Canton. There's no other words out there for his performances but sub par. He's been horrendous, 267 yards allowed , 13 catches and 1 touchdown which indicates this man is not only not ready for the NSFL, he's not even ready for the DSFL.
This concludes the second part of this series. Check back soon for part 3!
